AI love KSD. James and his crew are amazing! They did a good bit of work for us. Raised the floor of a sunken family room, added a wall, replaced a sliding door with a window, added a closet, gutted a powder room & closet and expanded it to a full size bathroom, added a concrete step to my patio, as well as all the small details...crown molding, chair rail, new carpets and planking, seamless drywall, electrical, three ceiling fan installations. They were prompt, arriving each morning when they said they would. They seem to be more project-based...day 1 was demo, day 2 was support beams, sub-flooring etc. They were definitely on top of things. I mistakenly purchased the wrong size shower base and they made the adjustments to the plan to make it work. James made sure to mention things that we hadn’t considered (this was our first big remodel!) and confirmed with us the little details that were important to make sure they were done right. James and his crew were very professional and superb with communication about every part of the remodel, and not to mention they were just the friendliest group of guys. :) We absolutely will be using them again for any other projects..and there is quite the list! Go with James and his crew, they’ll do a wonderful job!- K L V.

AWe had a tree hit our home in the March '18 wind storm. Kevin was instrumental when it came to dealing with our horrible insurance co (Nationwide is NOT on your side!). After three months of him tirelessly working towards a reasonable resolution with the insurance, he was finally able to begin work. Three weeks later my home is back to normal and we couldn't be happier. The workmanship is superb, the guys who did the work (Andy & Doug) were professional, kind and very talented. I highly recommend Taylor Made Contracting and I hope to use them again in the future (hopefully without a tree falling on our house!).- Deborah M.

CMy initial impression of Mr. Wampler was that he was very nice. I felt the price quoted was too high for the work to be performed, but let myself be convinced that it is worth it to pay for competent workers. I was wrong in my judgement. I have a very tiny powder room (4'x4') on the main level. I did the tear out myself and bought all of the materials. All they had to do was install them. I also have a very tiny set of stairs out back to the patio and a patio door that I wanted replaced. The water line to the fridge also needed to be replaced, since it came off the bathroom pipe I included that in the work. $11,000 for just that work is pretty insane. The plumber was a grumpy guy who clearly hates his job. He told my 8 year old son to "stay in school so you don't end up a plumber." My son wanted to watch because he happens to love construction and is fascinated by putting things together. I don't care if he ends up a plumber, as long as he is happy and a responsible adult. I thought that was very poor professionalism. Further, I was very clear with Mr. Wampler that when I did the demo work I had cut off the pipes to the bathroom and capped them with temporary valves. I also wanted a braided steel line for the fridge water supply. The plumber left my temporary valves in place, instead of removing them like he should have, and did some weird pipe routing because of it. Even after being called back to correct the work he didn't. Mr. Wampler was also insistent that I never said I wanted a braided line. The tile work was not very good. There is some lippage (tiles not even with each other), which isn't horrible and I'm probably the only one who notices, but it is there and if I had the time I could have done a better job. The whole point was I don't have the time and needed to hire someone. He also started at the wall and worked toward the door, which is normal and fine. But when he got to the door was like "oops, I didn't account for the strip under the door." (face palm). So frustrating. So now, with 12x24 tiles, I have a small 2" slice of tile right at the door threshold, instead of a nice even look all around. Laying out the tiles and planning ahead is the first thing that should be done. There are other things, like leaving pencil marks on my newly painted walls instead of erasing them. Leaving visible nail holes in the baseboard and quarter round. And driving nails through the bamboo threshold strip, rather than gluing it in like it is supposed to be. Oh, and they broke a nice clock we had, but never apologized or offered to pay for it.- Isaac W.

ABoth my windows and front entry door were original to the house so it was time to upgrade. Matt Dawson was great in showing me the products and explaining the warranties and installation process. Turn around time for my job estimate was a few days. It was about 5 weeks once deposit was made, order was placed and products installed in my house. The tech Wang was great. He was very detail oriented especially when it came to hanging the front door. Chesapeake Thermal has a 3 year service contract which is nice in case of those last minute fixes. Overall, very happy with finished job.- Ashley F.

AWe have used WS several times and they always do outstanding work. We had several choices of materials and Abe explained the process in detail. They used quality materials and the roof looks great! The area was cleaned up and the whole job went well. We are also pleased how great the interior door looks.- john b.

ARusty and a helper arrived on time. We inspected the new door prior to beginning the work to ensure it was exactly as ordered and it was. The job went as planned and ran about nine hours start to finish. The Provia fiberglass door is a high quality door and I would recommend to anyone. The finished job on the exterior met my expectations, however, the interior, not so much. There was some damage to the wall which I will repair and the caulking of the replaced door trim was only fair. I will correct this also. The ladies in the office are nice and easy to work with. Overall I am happy with the results and aesthetically it is what I was looking for. This is the second time Carl's has worked on my home and will certainly consider them for future needs.- William P.

AJames and his brother Joe were on time and did an excellent job. The whole process was professionally handled, from the initial meeting through the quote and actual installation. James completely understood our tight budget and didn't try to convince me to spend more than I had to in order to get a great product. James promptly returns calls and was very understanding and accommodating when I had to change the installation date. The work is top notch and the clean up was spotless. Pretty simply, you don't find too many guys like James anymore. He's coming back to put in new windows. Hire James and you will not go wrong.- Catherine H.

AI've used Green Solutions Remodeling for a new roof, all new windows and gutters. We were very happy with the quality of work and knew that we would use them for our patio door installation. Ira was gracious enough to replace our storm door after another contractor made a mess of the job (yes, we should have called Green Solutions in the first place). I've recommended them to friends and family and do so with confidence, because everyone has thanked me for such a great recommendation. From Ira and Joe, to Dawn, we have always been treated very well and will never, never think to hire anyone but them. Their employees are always polite, friendly and do a great job.- Louis C.

AThe project was supposed to start in the November/December time range, however due to Gary's schedule as well as a personal conflict on our end, we agreed to start at the beginning of January 2016. That week after the new year, Gary's crew of Steve and Mike arrived and unloaded materials as well as reviewed the work to be done. The original quote
covered labor and some basic materials (paint, drywall, etc) We wanted our basement to match our house, so we picked out the exterior door (basement service door, original was rotting/leaking) and interior doors. I was able to personally obtain these items, and that cost was not included in the quote, which worked out just fine. Steve and Mike were very professional, on time, and filled us in on the project as it progressed. My selection of interior doors hit a few delivery snags, however the crew was able to continue working on other tasks until I finally got the right doors. My wife and I were much appreciative of Gary and team's patience to ensure our basement met our expectations. Overall, everything came out great and the doors/hardware match our house. The details make the difference, and Perryhall worked to get them right.
Another part of the project included us wanting a basement drybar and half bathroom. We worked with a vendor recommended by Perryhall and ordered custom cabinetry for the vanity and bar. Steve and Mike installed the cabinets and fit them for our space. A miscommunication for the vanity depth by me and the vendor resulted in some extra work on Steve's end, but he made them all fit properly and function as intended.
Steve also performed the sanding and painting on the drywall. We picked the colors and he painted them to our specifications. He did a great job of thoroughly sanding and ensuring a good finish. He was very particular and obviously took pride in his work. This was also evident in that he came over on weekends as needed to touch up, install, re-sand, etc parts of the basement that needed further attention. We asked for some wordwork along our stairway, and he went above and beyond by routing out the trim piece to give a little more definition.
Overall, things came out great, the billing was on point for the work provided, and there was good communication along the way. This particular project can be frustrating for the contractor as I (the customer) was taking responsibility for obtaining several specific parts. I'm not a pro, and thus there were errors on my part along the way regarding measurements and specifics, but Perryhall worked through it and made everything come together. I can't ask for anything more, and our finished basement is an area of our house we look forward to enjoying for many years.
