    Clear Cut Building Solutions
These guys are true professionals. Shane was constantly in contact on the progress of the project and offered a lot of helpful suggestions. They finished early and his crew are true craftsman. I have been hiring contractors for years. These guys are the best. I have already recommended them to a couple of friends who saw the finished product. Good people who do great work.

    Creative Deck Designs
I hired Creative Deck Design to build a new front porch and a deck on the back of our house back in March. I was told that construction would begin in 6-8 weeks when I paid my deposit to them and signed the contract, and that the construction process shouldnt exceed 2 weeks. The whole process well exceeded the time expectations that were set as it is now mid-October and we are still waiting for work to be done to our back deck so that it can pass its 4th inspection. Our first failed inspection took place on 3 July. That very day one of the owners, Frank, came out to take a look at the work and explained that his worker would be out to make the corrections, which they did. Unbeknownst to us, the company failed to schedule the re-inspection as required, and we were notified by the Town of Bel Air on Sept 5 that our back deck could not be issued the Final Use Certificate. I immediately reached out to Frank at Creative Deck Design to inquire as to what was going on. Frank didnt seem to know but would look into it. A few days later the 2nd inspection took place, and failed. On 17 September, when I had not heard from the company, I made another phone call to Frank to inquire on when someone would be out to make the corrections to our deck since it had been nearly 2 weeks since the 2nd failed inspection. I was told by Frank that they were short staffed and that they would get to it when they got to it. He also proceeded to tell me that it wasnt as if my deck was going to fall down. I explained to Frank that this was not how you treat customers and that Id appreciate a date/time when I could expect someone out to make the required repairs. Minutes after my phone conversation with Frank I received a text from him stating that someone would be out on 19 September. He further told me that he didnt appreciate my tone and for me not to call him. He also told me that he was blocking my numbers. On 19 September a worker came out to make repairs and a third inspection took place on 20 September, which failed. On 5 October my husband left a message for Bob, the President and CEO of Creative Deck Design. When Bob finally returned his call he proceeded to give my husband a hard time and said that the Inspectors for the Town were being overly picky. After some discussion with Bob, my husband volunteered to forward the inspection findings to Bob (which had also been sent to the company by the inspectors office), so that we could possibly get the needed work done to pass inspection. It has now been three weeks since the 3rd failed inspection and the required work still hasnt be completed, nor has the company attempted to reach out to us. To date we have not received any communication from Creative Deck Design as to when someone will be out to make the needed repairs for our deck to pass inspection, and we feel that we have exhausted all avenues ourselves on trying to get this matter resolved. In addition to the failed inspections, Creative Deck Design was supposed to replace a defective composite board that I had notified them about in late August. I was told via text by Frank that he had come out to my house to look at the board, and that he attempted to get the defect off by sanding it, which is baffling since the board is composite, not wood and only made it worst. Because that didnt work, Frank stated in a text that he would try to replace the board. Needless to say, the board still hasnt been replaced, and after the back-and-forth regarding the failed inspections, Frank has since stated that I will have to go through the manufacture warranty to resolve. It is important to note that the company received payment in full back in late June.

    Woodfield Landscaping Inc
Woodfield came to my house to provide an estimate for a project to repair/replace a walkway and patio along with some other landscape related work on 9/6/2018. He explicitly stated he would provide an estimate. I made 3 attempts to follow up with them for the estimate via email and by leaving a message with the receptionist: 9/13 - EMail 9/17 - Message with receptionist 9/21 - Message with receptionist (message also stated that I would like a message either way if he could support the project or not) To date (10/9) I haven't received any communication from Woodfield at all. Not even a courtesy email or call to say he couldn't support the project per my request.

The project encompassed pressure washing and staining a rear enclosed deck of 20 feet by 35 feet. We contacted Ed to provide us with an estimate and project timeline. Ed started the project in the fall of 2017 but was hampered by poor weather. He doggedly finished the project in the summer of 2018 ahead of schedule and vastly under budget. He also went over and above in the scope of his work. I would definitely recommend Ed and his crew for any deck or glass block projects. He is a consummate professional!

Ron and his coworker, Greg, were a pleasure to work with. They spent four days at my house completing a long list of repairs that were needed both inside and out. They arrived each day on time and worked consistently throughout the day. They even completed the outside jobs in 95+ degree heat without complaint. Upon completion of each task, I was asked to inspect the work to be sure it was to my satisfaction, which it always was. Their workmanship is outstanding. Just as important, I felt completely comfortable with both Ron and Greg in my home. They were friendly, professional, and respectful. One of the best experiences I have ever had with contractors!

    Solid Brick Contracting LLC
I would like to caveat anything I say here by simply stating that the pictures below are, in fact, the work that was completed by Solid Brick Contracting. If you feel the quality of work displayed in these pictures is professional, then you can ignore this review, but I do recommend reading because their responsiveness after I paid for the job in full was essentially nonexistent. This may concern you if you have similar issues in the beginning or in a year from now if you have a warranty issue. After the job was complete and I paid in full (my mistake), I contacted Solid Brick Contracting on 5/3/2018 via email. To date (6/19/2018), they have not even come out to look at the issues, let alone address them. They have made 4 attempts to schedule something, but they never followed through or cancelled. My main issue is with the brick work around the porch. I actually mentioned some of the issues below to Solid Brick Contracting before I paid. They said that the pressure washing and cleaning would address the issue regarding the mortar residue and the mortar joint shaping, uniformity and smoothness. I did find this hard to believe, but I gave it a chance. My mistake was really not allowing it to dry overnight before paying him because it was still wet when I came home so it made everything look uniform. (Note: Just as a side note, notice that a lot of the pictures in the reviews on various sites show it wet. This hides a lot of the imperfections and I assume that is why they do it.) While the pressure washing did remove a bit of the mortar residue, it did very little if anything for the uniformity and smoothness of the shaping of the mortar joints. As I see it, here are the issues with the brick work still: 1) There is still a lot mortar residue on the surface of the bricks around the whole porch. 2) There is significant color variation in the mortar joint. 3) The brick pattern is not consistent. (I dont know why I didnt notice that before I paid, but I didnt). The top row on the left side and one of the rows on the right side does not match the offset pattern of all of the other brick work. 4) The bricks are not level, plum, or laid flat. The surface looks jagged as you can see. 5) The color of bricks also do not match, they replaced 3 bricks in the bottom row on the left side. You can clearly see which ones they are. 6) The difference in the widths of the mortar joints in general on the brick around the porch is significant. They should all be uniform in width. 7) The mortar joints themselves should be smooth and shaped evenly through the entirely of the work. They are clearly not. Oddly enough, the brick work on the border of the walkway is relatively fine. I am not sure what happened on the porch. It is such poor craftsmanship that I cannot accept it. I dont see any other option other than completely removing the brick border on the porch and redoing. In addition to the brick work, they also left A LOT of mortar residue on my concrete driveway and left the debris from the excavation in my backyard. If it was clean fill, I would not mind, but it ended up being almost all rock and pebbles. Rock up to 4 or 5 in diameter and A LOT of it. I cannot even run over that area with my lawnmower or it will damage it. I asked him to address this before I paid them and it appears they didnt do it or did a poor job doing it. I should have checked that before I paid, but I just didnt. There were a few other things not done to contract, but I did not mention them here, but may decide to as the resolution to these issues progress. Prior to being paid in full, Solid Brick Contract was quite responsive, fair in price, punctual, and professional and I would have rated them highly in these categories if they didnt completely ignore my concerns after I paid them. This is the true test of a professional contractor in my opinion and I am sure others would agree. These are the picture of the work they did and they did essentially become unresponsive after I paid. This IS a HUGE flag if you are considering to hire them regardless of whether you think I am picky. They didnt even come to my house to look at the issues yet, let alone address them. Good luck if you choose to go with this company, but I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Myriad Home Improvement & Handyman Services LLC
This contractor requires payment in FULL for both supplies and labor. I prepaid for 2 separate jobs. The first to replace a ceiling fan. The contractor could not figure out how to attach the fan blades. The job was NOT completed that day. Two days later the 2nd job, re-screening my back deck (purchased 7 hours labor and cost of all supplies) the contractor (different from the previous)entered my home and immediately stated the job which was to take one day could not be completed that day because he forgot the new screening and it was too far to go back and retrieve. Fortunately he was able to complete the ceiling fan job but was only able to complete the measurements and cutting of the new framing for the re-screening. With three hours of labor left the job was scheduled for completion the following week but had to be cancelled due to the weather. The second re-scheduled date the following week was abruptly changed from am to pm and then turned into a no-show. Because of the many un-answered voice and e mails it became clear this job was NOT on the priority list to complete. I was refunded only the cost of 3 hours labor and the cost of the new screening. To make matters worse however I was unable to find a contractor willing to complete the job in the same manner it was started, so I am basically back to square one with new labor and material costs. This time however I will NOT prepay in advance. I have learned my lesson well !!!!

    Bring It On Home Construction
Matthew helped install siding, storm door, lights/fans, cabinets, and enclosed our steps. He was very professional and thorough. Any questions we had he educated us along the way. His prices were great and we have used him for multiple projects. We even left him to work alone when we could be there for the entire job. I recommend giving him an opportunity to help you out!

    URSO Remodeling Inc
Darryl and Christian were the team who worked on installing our roof and new deck. Because they were so meticulous we wanted them to redo our master bath. We had new tile put on the floor, around our jacuzzi and glass shower stall. Darryls work is unparalled because he is meticulous in all his work. There was a lot of detail work involved in this project and because of his work ethic we are completely pleased with the finished project. This team is professional, trustworthy and didnt take anything for granted. They checked with us before doing something to be sure it turned out the way we wished. We would definitely hire them again in a heartbeat.
