    Taylor Made Custom Contracting Inc
We had a tree hit our home in the March '18 wind storm. Kevin was instrumental when it came to dealing with our horrible insurance co (Nationwide is NOT on your side!). After three months of him tirelessly working towards a reasonable resolution with the insurance, he was finally able to begin work. Three weeks later my home is back to normal and we couldn't be happier. The workmanship is superb, the guys who did the work (Andy & Doug) were professional, kind and very talented. I highly recommend Taylor Made Contracting and I hope to use them again in the future (hopefully without a tree falling on our house!).

    Timothy's Home Improvement
Mr. Timothy showed up with his team and got right to work. His is a family business, his father taught him, and you get that old-fashioned small private business treatment complete with affordable price. Special mention goes out to Steve who paid great attention to detail, getting everything just right, was extremely knowledgeable and generous in sharing what he knew (gave me step-by-step instructions on how to stain and paint the railings, a project Im determined to do myself). We are so thrilled with both stairway and basement drywall and can't stop admiring them. Thank you so much, Mr. Timothy and crew! With confidence I highly recommend you and your team for all home repair and improvement!

    Mid-Atlantic Gutters & Exteriors
Business practice and my experience: Omg where to start. Bottomline up front, Honest and Integrity! These values are rare nowadays, but their business is an exemplary example of such values. Ok first, I do not spend time writing a review unless the company is worth it. Mid-Atlantic Gutters and Exteriors (MAGE) is SUPERB. When I called, I worked with Susie who is very sweet and responsive with scheduling, and then worked with her husband, John. He was very attentive, cooperative and definitely not pushy. He provided enough information, but not overwhelming and always he asked if I was confused about anything. He inspected the roof thoroughly during the hot August  and provided a estimate with a little leg room for unexpected events that he couldn't see at the time of inspection.  The leg room is justified. For example, I had a large soft area around my skylights and he thought he will need more plywood. He provided a detail quote and stating the number of plywood. I was present during the roof replacement and when completed, I was only charged for the plywood  that actually was needed. MAGE had good business practice by not charging me what I didn't need. Also, before I picked out my roof option, John provided a breakdown on each different option. There were two breakdowns that I wanted and John provided it. At the completion, MAGE would re-evaluate the estimate and honestly provide the remaining balance.
Price comparison: I had two different roofer estimates which I don't think I can release company's name over Angie, but these other roofers were also highly ranked on Angies. If you want my opinions/experience about the roofers in my area Harford County MD, then please feel free to email at waymoonii@gmail.com or message me on Angies. I will do the best I can to help you too. IMO, MAGE was the most economical with the best reputable brand in the roof market. MAGE was not the cheapest quote by price. Cheapest quote provided the least reputable brand. My quote also included two new skylights, inserting additional bathroom roof vent, and window silicone sealing. My roof required 23 squares (sorry I forgot exact squares and didn't have the estimate in front of me as i'm writing this review.
Quality of work and material: I chose Landmark Pro shingles and velux skylights. The quality of the material is very good so far. I had 4 heavy rains so far and no issues. All shingles laid correctly over the gutters. Clean up 100% with magnetic rollers. I had an issue with their work quality over my bay windows, so I called John and Susie while the workers were still at my home. Susie and John resolved my bay window roof issue immediately and it was made beautiful! So my bay windows roof had dwells. Their workers did not do a sloppy, but they just placed the bay window new roof shingles as it was before with dwells. After the workers talked with John and Susies, all dwells were corrected. Their workers were very friendly and cooperative, and efficient. My roof was completed in 1 day, 6am in the morning to 7pm. The windows silicone workmanship is professional, all 24 windows including second-story sealed beautifully.
Suggested improvements: No improvement necessary for their honest practices and execution with such integrity and professional communication with me. As for prices, always cheaper would be nice, but to all the readers, please consider that MAGE is a business too and everyone has a livelihood to sustain. MAGE prices is very reasonable.  As for provided services, I would suggest (again only a suggestion, maybe their a potential business market to tap into) that MAGE become MAGIE (Mid-atlantic gutters interiors and exteriors). So, I also wanted a full exhaust fan installation, but MAGE only performed exterior services. MAGE did provide the service of making the roof cut-out and installing the vent with awesome cap sealing practice (ice shield and shingles around vent cap). By myself, I installed the exhaust fan and venting to the roof vent cap.
Overall: I am grateful that I found an honest, trust worthy, and dependable business with very reasonable prices. Kudos to Susie, John, their roofers, and the "window sealer guy". To Susie and John, please thank all your employees who were involved .
To the readers: thank you for reading and I apologize for any grammatical mistakes or typos.

    Perryhall Remodeling
Perfect!  I had already spent time trying to find someone to replace the large porch columns and was not happy with responses from 2 companies.  I joined Angie's list, read reviews and contacted Perryhall Remodeling.  The same day, Gary SR called and set up appointment for two days later to come out for a cost estimate.  Gary arrived on time along with his brother.  They were quick but very thorough.  When looking at the porch columns, he also pointed out where wood was rotting and needed to be replaced.  They also saw that some of our problems could have been from a misaligned gutter.
Later that night, Gary SR sent a contract via email which included all we had discussed and the price.  His quote was the same as one I had received from another contractor, but included so much more than just "replace two porch columns" for the same price.
Day of work (about 10 days later since columns had to be ordered), Gary SR arrived here by 7am to meet with his crew and look over the project.    I went off to work and when I came home, all was completed.  Front of porch and garage looked great,  Only indication they were here was the cans of paint neatly stacked in the corner of the porch.
We are very excited to find a company who has been in business for so long, are friendly and professional to work with, and have a wide range of services they can provide.
    Thank you Gary!

    Timothy's Home Improvement
While searching for someone to replace the very large leaking Palladian window above my front door, I found Timothy's Home Improvements in Angie's List. Timothy was quick to respond to my call and provided me with a reasonable estimate. After discussing the job with Timothy I was confident that Tim and his crew were competent and could do the job to my satisfaction. In the course of installing the window Tim's team found rot in the door and side window frames. We modified the contract to cover the rot repairs. Tim's crew went to work and did a beautiful job install the window and repairing the rotten trim. We also hired Tim to install drywall in my basement bathroom, the basement closet, and the garage ceiling. The drywall was installed in a timely
fashion and was finished ready for paint.
I was very happy with the work Tim and his gang did. Through the whole process of installing the window, making repairs to the front door and trim, and installing the drywall, Tim kept us informed of his progress and was always easy to contact (Tim always responded to my calls in 24 hours or less).

    Timothy's Home Improvement
How many times have you said "So much to do with so little time"?  Well, based on my incredible experience with "Timothy's Home Improvement", I can assume neither Timothy nor any of his team had ever said that!  Regardless of how many jobs I threw his way, Timothy was always quick to respond and quick to fix!  He made the time to ensure everything was completed not only promptly, but with ultimate quality, as well
After suffering water damage from both a pipe burst AND a leaky roof, Timothy and his team were able to assess the damage, and fix it in no time.  Timothy was also charged with replacing the fascia board in my home - and what made things a little more challenging is that all of these repairs were happening in two different properties at the same time!
Timothy and his team did a great job juggling competing priorities and always ensured I was kept in the loop of all progress and next steps.  After the job was complete - everything looked perfect - as if the damage never happened!  And, their clean up - was impeccable!
While I am expecting not to have any damage anytime soon - I will definitely be calling Timothy next time I need general contractor services.  I highly recommend him!

    Your Home Solution LLC
I was extremely pleased with the work that Craig and Mike completed in our home.  They were recommended to us by a structural engineer.  We wanted to be sure that some work a previous contractor performed was done correctly, and Craig and Mike were able to review it and say that it was.  We had a list of many things to have done, particularly replacing 2 rotten fence posts and a sunken deck step.  It was obvious that they care about the quality of their work because they did not just simply reattach the step - they dug a hole and poured a concrete slab that will now keep the step supported.  They worked together to quickly take out several annoying creaks in our kitchen floor and even secured a table leg on our kitchen table.
Craig and Mike work very quickly, but pay attention to detail.  One thing I really like is that they are so knowledgeable about most every aspect of home building and repair.  I can feel confident that if they run into an unexpected issue, they will be able to fix it.  We plan to get in touch with them when we are ready to complete a flooring project.

    Perryhall Remodeling
I had compiled a list of projects we were considering having done to improve our home which was built in 1986.  After doing a great deal of research, we decided on Perryhall Remodeling, based on the number of positive reviews reported on Angie's List.  I contacted the Company by phone and explained a little bit about what improvements we were looking to have done to our 28 year old home and asked that the owner return the call.  I received a call back from Gary Howard, Sr., the owner of the company, within 24 hours and we arranged a meeting at our home two days later.  Gary Howard, Sr. and his brother Tim Howard arrived on time and we got down to business.  Gary, Sr and Tim were very friendly and professional as we discussed the work we were considering.  Gary and I walked through the inside and outside of the house as I explained what we needed.  Gary was very attentive, and took notes and asked questions and made professional suggestions as we walked.  The most urgent projects included replacing 3 skylights which had been leaking for sometime and repair to the surrounding drywall, which had been severely damaged.  We needed two new patio doors along with the restoration of two decks, plus power washing of the entire house.  I wanted floor tile installed in the  powder room and master bath.  I also wanted the gutters in the front and back of the house cleaned out and gutter guards installed throughout.  I needed something done with the downspout next to the porch that was allowing water to damage the side of the porch, plus the replacement of 3 ceiling fans, the weatherproofing of the front door and the shaving of the bottom of an interior door that was scraping the floor plus replacing the door bell ringer.
We agreed on a price, and I signed off on a written contract.
Gary, Sr. was worried about the weather and wanted to get started on the outside work as soon as possible. I, of course, agreed and the skylight project started within a week.  Gary, Tim and the work crew arrived bright and early on the agreed upon date to install the skylights and service the roof.   Gary had upgraded the skylights he purchased for us without additional charge.   He was very concerned that we never experience the water leakage we had experienced with the old skylights.
(I found a repeat of this kind of thoughtfulness throughout our working relationship.  Just a few examples would include the following:  When two pieces of damaged siding previously hidden behind the old deck boards, was now revealed, Gary, Sr. replaced the siding with undamaged pieces of siding we had saved, at no charge.  He had his team install three ceiling fans for us at no charge.  He purchased and installed a door bell ringer at no charge and Gary, Jr. replaced our flood lights for us at no charge).
Now back to the skylight project:  The 3 Skylights were installed without a problem and they looked amazing from the street and from inside the house.  No more leaks!!!   At the same time that the Skylight were being installed, Gary and his son, Gary, Jr., walked the entire roof and found there were some imperfections in the previous re-construction of the chimney.  They recommended a reconstruct upgrade to the chimney with new plywood and aluminum.  I agreed to the improvements, because we had problems in the past with water leakage from that chimney.  Since this remodel of the chimney, I have not had any further problems with water leakage.
Gary, Jr. also worked on the redirecting of the downspout away from the front porch. This downspout was directing rain water too close to the house which resulted in an incredible amount of damage to the side of the front porch.  To fix the problem, Gary, Jr. cut off the downspout just directly about the porch roof gutter, resulting in a direct feed into this gutter which eliminated direct water damage to the side of the porch.  (How simple a fix and how Genius!! - Thanks Gary, Sr. for the solution)   The damaged cement was cleaned up and new cement was pored to protect the side porch in the future.
The next major outside project was the restoration of two (2) decks.  My husband and I had not taken the best of care of the original decks, and this resulted in a lot of damage to the wood. Gary, Sr. recommended that we forgo the power washing of these decks because of the poor condition of the deck boards.  Instead the deck boards would  be replaced with pressure treated decking and the railing be replaced with white vinyl railings.  He told us that the decks foundations appeared to be undamaged and did not need to be replaced.
A four man crew got to work with the demolition and rebuild of the two decks.  The finished decks are beautiful!  The workmanship is impressive!  I get compliments on these decks all the time.
Kudos to the Team!  Thank you Mike, Josh, Bill and Gary, Jr.

Next on the project check off list was the repair to all drywall that was damaged by the water leakage from the 3 old skylights. The walls that were water damaged included the front entry foyer walls and ceiling, the 3 skylight wells including the master bathroom ceiling, front hallway ceiling and additional patching throughout.  Followed by 2 coats of paint.  Again, an excellent job!!
During this same time the entire house was power washed and the gutters and downspouts were cleaned out, in preparation for gutter guards to be installed.
Once the gutters were cleaned, Gary Howard, Sr. and his brother Tim Howard arrived a few days later to personally install the gutter guards.  A few more leaves had to be removed from the gutters first.  Gary recommended that the gutters at the top of the house, front and back should have new white aluminum flashing installed under the roof into gutters along with new spikes in the back and front of the house before the guards were installed.  The lower gutters did not need the flashing and new spikes.  I agreed to the improvement and he did the work.  After the flashing and spikes were installed, gutter guards were installed throughout.  (Another job well done!)
(I just wanted to mention that Gary, Sr. has excellent communication skills.  He stops over at least a few times a week to touch base and review the project in progress.  He has kept us updated as to the timetable of our projects so we know what to expect.  We have appreciated this communication.)
Next up was the renovation of the Powder Room.  I had originally thought that I would like to have floor tile installed,  although I was worried about the condition of the floor.  It seemed very soft and uneven and I was worried about the tile breaking later.  Gary, Sr. and I discussed the situation and he agreed that the floor should be stabilized before the tile was installed. I decided I would also like to have the existing wallpaper removed, the walls repaired and painted and  the vanity sink and toilet replaced.  I refinished the old vanity myself and it turned out great.  Our contract was updated and the work began.  Once the sub-floor was upgraded, the floor was as solid as a rock. The "A" team worked on this project and did an another amazing job!  We love it!!
Next we're moving right along with the repair and replacement of damaged drywall in the kitchen/family room walls and ceilings plus patchwork throughout the rooms as needed.  Followed by 2 coats of paint.  We had quite a bit of damage caused over the years from water leakage from the Master bathroom which is located directly above the kitchen/family room area.  The drywall was expertly repaired and a large section needed to be replaced.  Once it was painted, you would never know any of the repairs were done.  This was very recently finished, just in time to have the new French Doors installed.  What an incredible job this team has done again!!  Now I have to decide what window treatment to use on our new doors.  Decisions! Decisions!
Now we come to the final and most sensational project.  As I mentioned, we had experienced a lot of water leakage from the Master bathroom over the years.  Each time we would have the problem fixed, but it would reoccur over and over.  Never did we realize that the sub floor in the master bathroom was deteriorating over the years, but we sure found out when  work began on upgrading the floor in the master bathroom for the installing of floor tile.  The Team had begun to remove the existing floor covering to begin the upgrade of the sub floor. Gary, Sr. arrived unexpectedly and went immediately to the master bathroom.  When he called me up, I knew something had to be wrong.  The floor in the shower/toilet area had rotted floor and joists throughout.  It was even wet in places.  We decided to completely gut the master bathroom and completely redesign.  Gary, Sr. gave me an amazing price and everyone went to work.  I decided to remove the bathtub which had not be used in years and we expand the size of the shower area and removed the old single vanity and replaced it with a new double vanity.  Everything in the room is new.  I bought an executive shower unit with an amazing shower door and hardware.  A new toilet, double vanity, double vanity sinks, mirrors, vanity lights and the entire floor is now tiled.  New plumbing and electrical was installed and new drywall installed to frame the shower unit.  Everything is new and expertly installed - it is stunning!!!
I would give Gary Howard, Sr. and his highly skilled and professional team an A+ in all categories if that rating were available.  I could not be any happier with the quality of the work that has been performed in my home.  I would highly recommend Gary Howard, Sr. and Perryhall Remodeling to all of my friends and neighbors. Because of the outstanding service I have received, I would also like to nominate Perryhall Remodeling for the Angie's list "Page of Happiness".

It took about 4 days for him to do the work. The final product looks very good and we're very happy. He showed up when he said he would and did exactly what he said he'd do. He was very close to his quote - about $70 cheaper. The quality of the workmanship was great, too.
