The orthopedics we go to were not hands on. They look, observe and comment on it but unless you broke a bone there's not much they would do about it, this physical therapist we go to is hands on. He has a doctorate so his very knowledgeable about anatomy. He's been very cooperative and understanding. We received a book of exercise that we can follow and he determined the cause of my wife's problems. He did a little advanced investigation of what the problems are and this has been helping my wife a great deal.

It has a relaxed atmosphere, Everybody seems to know what they were doing and it was more like a rehab place. The staff was professional yet laid back. They were compassionate, caring and they took their time and help to put people at ease.

These folks really get you back on your feet. Your first post-surgery appointment is an evaluation with the physical therapist who then sets a plan of action for your complete recovery. Then they work with you each time you go in for PT, and make sure you're following your prescribed regimen, while tracking your progress periodically. They'll answer your questions or concerns, and even try to work with your insurance company if there's an issue in that area.
Most of us want to go from zero to 50 in just a few short visits, but the staff tries to keep us grounded and reminds us that 'just because we can doesn't mean we should.' Recovery is different for all of us, and it's better to take it easier and avoid reinjury than to go all out and have a setback. As your progress continues, your PT will change up your therapy according to protocols to keep you challenged and getting stronger.
I'd never hesitate to go back to Annapolis Family PT for physical therapy in the future. Here's one hint: If you're there for more than just a few visits, plan out and book your appointments as early as you can to get the times/days you prefer. These folks get busy!

They are highly educated physical therapist there and you get excellent treatment. They do very good right up when you need to go see your doctor. They are gentle and firm about the therapy they gave. Most of the time you have the same therapist, it is usually one or two, they try to focus on one or two of therapist on you for continuity and they take insurance. They got a very nice clinic. They just upgraded their clinic this past year. I would definitely use them again in the future.

After the knee surgery I had standard physical therapy, but the knee pain did not diminish enough that I could walk without a limp. After several sessions with this therapist I was, and still am, walking normally without pain. I believe I have a permanent fix. The back and neck problems, although not as profound as the knee fix, have been alleviated significantly. She is a pleasant and very knowledgeable person and I have no reservations about her.

It is a happy place and everybody treats you like you are part of the family. They treat each other wonderful and they treat you wonderful. They are so complimentary to you and will get you whatever you need. You are completely taken care of for the entire time. Everybody knows who you are. They are kind and helpful. You feel better and it actually works. They don't rush you. It is everything you would want. I'm been going here for three or four months.

Elaina and Christine are EXCELLENT physical therapists, using multiple types of treatment to assist their patients. They own the business, are friendly and outgoing and make patients feel comfortable and welcome. The staff knows the patients, calls them by name. You don't feel like you're in a hospital, or one of the herd, i.e. you aren't treated like cattle. Elaina has allowed my pilates instructor to come along to a couple of appointments, and provided her with detailed explanations of what my physical problems were and what movements would and would not exacerbate the problems in my hip. It helped decrease my pain during exercise--and won Elaina another advocate, since my pilates instructor now suggests Encompass Therapy when her customers ask for a recommendation. I have recommended Encompass Therapy to friends and co-workers. The shop accepts most insurance.
