    Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital
Dr. Duane Woodburn saved my 11-year-old dog's life. He was professional, thorough, kind, and determined to find out what her mystery illness was. She needed to be hospitalized for several days, and the Vet tech who cared for her at night actually sent me photos of her via email. Everyone in the practice was wonderful. My dog is now back at home and doing well. Thank you, Greater Annapolis!

    Kitty's Canine Clips
HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE First, let me say that I rarely leave online reviews, and then typically only for excellence. My puppies' experience at Kitty's Canine Clips was abysmal. Buffi Jessen was the groomer. After dropping by and evaluating the location, staff and dogs being groomed on another day, I scheduled an appointment for my two Scotties to have their first professional groom. My puppies are six months old and are brushed on a daily basis at home. One is a little shy, and the groomer was informed of this before I left them in her care. I was told it would be four to five hours before they would be done. Three and a half hours later, I got a call from the groomer double checking how I wanted their backs groomed. I had asked for Scottie faces and puppy bodies since their hair is too short for a skirt still. She also took that opportunity to inform me that the faces weren't going to be perfect because "they just aren't doing well." I replied that I would rather they have a positive experience than a perfect groom. I decided to go straight to Kitty's Canine Clips to see what was going on and see if my presence would improve the outcome. When I arrived, one of my pups was standing perfectly on the grooming table and the other was crying in a cage. The one on the table was occasionally looking around the room, but she is a puppy and was certainly being more still than puppies often are. I commented that she seemed to be doing fine and was told "the other one is the bad one." They soon declared Ida done and moved to get Rose out. As soon as she was touched, Rose started flailing around as I have never seen her before. The groomer got her to the table, but the lead came off and Rose would have fallen off the table if I hadn't caught her. The groomer put the lead back on, and I began trying to comfort my pup while she tried to brush her. Rose continue to try to get away and they asked me to step away so she wouldn't "be so bad" because "the owner being around upsets them." I did as asked. As sooner as I was away from the table, the groomer began harshly moving Rose around every time she moved and Rose began flailing again. She was not being bad. She was clearly terrified. The groomer was not giving her loving touches, sounds or words. She just continued shoving her around the table and being totally ineffectual in the face of my 6-month-old puppy's fear. I asked her to stop immediately and then left. Both pups clung to me in the car. I decided to stop at our vet, Greater Annapolis Vetrinary Hospital, on our way home for some positive stranger interaction. They were wonderful, as always! When we got there, Rose, the terrified pup, wanted nothing to do with anyone but me. The staff came out, got on the floor with them and began working with treats. Rose went from refusing treats, to taking them and running back to me, to eating them with the staff and going to others to ask for more. Thank goodness for the resilience of youth. I thought the worst was over until I went to brush them at bedtime. Rose was ok (she had been bathed but not groomed because of her terror), but Ida was now terrified of the brush. When she saw it, she ran as far away as possible. When I went to brush her holding her close, she put her ears back and started trembling. We made some progress with treats and kisses, but I am furious that my pup who loved being brushed at night now doesn't even want to look at her brush. While Kitty's may be fine for dogs who are used to grooming, they clearly have no idea how to teach puppies about grooming and no patience to help a dog that is scared. Rather than comforting and teaching, they blamed young puppies inexperience and called them "bad." My pups are far worse off than if I had continued to care for them myself. In contrast, our last Scottie, who also started life as a shy puppy, was nurtured by a patient and loving groomer. She spent all her 17 years loving her baths and grooming. This was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE.

    Greater South River Animal Hospital
Excellent! Our pets have been patients in this practice for over 25 years. They have been treated with the upmost care and concern by the doctors and vet techs. The front office staff is always gracious and willing to assist in anyway possible. This is a well run animal hospital, with the patients and their owners for most in their purview

    Aimee's Bark Ave
Aimee's tech, Angela, delivered -- arriving at my home in a mobile truck, fully furnished with all the tools plus air-conditioning. Angelas sweeping personality drew both of us in. No worries there. My medium sized Spanador received ear cleaning, nail trimming, bath, anal expression and more. His coat was fluffy and smooth to the touch after, but it was my dog's smile, both inside and outside the van, that won me over to book again in 6 weeks. With a grooming price comparable to others, I'm sold. Thanks, Aimee's.

Higgins & Friends Pet Sitting, LLC
We got daily photos of our dogs and short reports via text message as to how our girls were doing. It was great to be able to leave our dogs in our own home, as opposed to sending them to a kennel. We have already scheduled them again!

    Five Points Kennels Inc

You have to make sure you give advance notice. Each of the runs is both indoor and outdoor. I can put all 3 of my dogs in one run. They do a fine job. My one dog, Abby, was not eating. They sent me a message to let me know that to see if I had any feedback.

    College Park Animal Hospital
They’re pricey, but all vets are. Dr. McMichaels, he’s just a great veterinarian. He knows his stuff. We’ve had 5 pets and we’ve been seeing him now since the 80’s. From birth till death he’s handled our pets. He’s just very good and I’ve had where I’ve had emergency situations where I’ve taken them to other places and I’ve not been happy at all. Even though I don’t even live near College Park anymore, I still go back to take my animals to the vet. I like the doctor so.

    Bark 'N' Bean
The groomer, her name is Mel, she just exactly what I tell her to do. My dog always looks good. My dog has a bad back, so they are always very careful with the way they lift her and things. It’s easy to get and appointment. Like I say, the dog always looks good there’s no surprises. I’m just happy with it.

    Kaspar Kare Pet Care Provider
Rose was a delight to work with. She understood my anxiety about leaving my pets and sent daily photos and updates to ease my mind. She walked Scout and spent quality time with my cats. As if that wasn't enough, I came home to a clean house with plants watered and clean sheets on the bed! Anytime I go away I will call Rose, it doesn't get any better.
