  • Job was first rate from the design thru completion. Many of our neighbors have used Stewart Lawn and Landscape for their patios. The crew was on time and very clean. The family really enjoys the new living space complete with fire pit..

  • Ordered 5 yards of mulch. It arrived with a large amount of gravel mixed in. I notified the company right away but they refused to remove the unusable material from my driveway. I am stuck paying to dispose of 5yds of useless mulch.

  • GFC did excellent work on all parts of our project. Communication with us was good from start to finish, including daily updates and photos of the work in progress. We were very impressed with the management of the company, the skill of their workforce, the helpfulness of the office staff, their competitive pricing (comparable to much smaller paving-only contractors), the timeliness of completing the project, and their policy of complete customer satisfaction. We highly recommend this company and would definitely hire them again.

  • For years and many thousands of dollars it was OK - not great, but OK, and convenient and office was very professional. Then, a couple of years ago they did a very bad small landscaping job. I still stick with them. Finally, this summer, they actually killed my lawn and acknowledged that there had been a problem with their last application. Their attitude about it was unsatisfactory. I had paid more than the services used on this year's contract. They say you can terminate anytime without penalty. I have now been waiting about 5 months for a refund they acknowledged is due me. After several months they had said they would make the refund to my credit card if I gave them the number. I did not do business with them by credit card! As if I would give my credit card number to a company I no longer trusted to do business with!

  • It went perfectly. (5 stars / A+++) Tony (and his crew) worked seamlessly with my pool company - despite my pool company shifting and moving the schedule for when landscaping could start several times. When we were finally ready for Continental Landscaping to get started, we had rain (almost every other day for a week), occasional freezing temperatures - and yet they showed up and found ways to get work done, on-time and at the contracted price. They did so much (great) work it's hard to summarize it all but here's a brief recap - DESIGN: I had a rough idea of what I thought I wanted, but Tony came out and talked with me to understand what I was actually aiming to do, what my budget was, and what kinds of materials/designs appealed to me. During our initial meeting, we talked for over an hour and covered everything from elevation changes, drainage, concerns I had... you name it - we discussed it. A couple days later, Tony presented quote that was within my budget and clearly identified what he would do. After accepting the quote, Tony developed a scale CAD that encompassed everything we had discussed. The big take away from this was that everything we discussed was taken seriously, accounted for, and not glossed over. Tony's pricing was fair and transparent and in hindsight, for the quality of the workmanship that I received - a true bargain. PATIO: Tony built a multi-tiered paver patio with a grilling area and lounging/dining area that wrapped around our pool. His crew meticulously measured and accounted for grading at all phases of the construction. The stairs that lead from my backdoor to the upper tier were built by excavating a massive amount of material, back-filling with compacted stone, pouring a substantial concrete pad... all before a single paver was ever laid. The rest of the patio was carefully designed and installed around a gas pipes, pool piping, electrical lines, coping tiles, and flower beds. Tony and his crew met or exceeded ICPI standards at all phases of the project. When the design needed to be adjusted to account for additional grading challenges or aesthetics - they did it - often times by telling me what they were going to do to fix a problem after they had already identified it and devised a great solution. One of the most impressive parts was that all of these "little" changes (i.e. a small retaining wall to hold back dirt at a flower bed, a small tapering wall to account for my yard slope, etc.), there was never a surcharge. Let me repeat that last part because it's so rare it's worth repeating.... They made their great design better - without me needing to ask - and they didn't ask me to pay extra fees. This is the mark of a truly professional company that cares about doing the job right. SOD: The only thing I've ever successfully grown is crabgrass, nutsedge weed, and clover, so when it came time for sod, I was excited. Mother-nature however, had other plans. Mainly rain, lots of rain. Despite soggy ground, and afternoon showers, his crew dug up/scraped my entire yard - mostly by hand - and then brought in quality topsoil... by wheelbarrow. At any given moment, there were roughly 4 wheelbarrows shuttling between my front yard (where the material was in their truck) and backyard (where the material had to go). While 2 guys spread the soil - by hand (rake), while another guy stayed at the truck to shovel material. Bear in mind, this was all taking place while my yard was essentially a muck-pit of soggy, rain-soaked dirt that if you stood still for a couple seconds, you'd sink up to your ankles. They spent a full 2+ days scraping weeds up and hauling in dirt before they laid the sod. The sod was laid so tightly (which is how it's supposed to be done) that I literally couldn't find seams when they were done. They also did a great job shaping/cutting the sod so that it contoured perfectly to the "free-form" pool shape. MULCH: Tony called me near the end of the project to discuss some ideas he had to nicely finish off the job and give my backyard a completed/finished look. One of the major things was applying a heavy fresh layer of topsoil and building some bigger/larger flower beds. If you work with Tony - and I highly recommend you do - you should trust his advice/guidance. I did and I couldn't be happier. He was completely correct - the slight addition to the work, tied everything together and gave me the best looking backyard I've ever had. He also made the suggestion that we do a bed of river rock around our pool equipment. I wasn't home when he called me with that suggestion, but he explained his idea clearly and after working for a couple weeks with Tony - I learned to trust his judgement. When I came home and saw what he had done - I was thrilled. He ripped out the grass that was around my pool equipment, put down geotextile fabric, installed an aluminum retaining strip, and filled the area with river rock. Brilliant. I don't know how I would have ever weed-wacked or mowed grass around my pool equipment... and now, I won't ever have to. It's the little, well thought through details like this that make Tony's work standout from every other landscaper's work I've ever seen. LIGHTING: As part of the patio project, Tony suggested some low voltage lights in the steps and our flower beds. They look awesome. Truly. The lights were installed during the paver portion of the project and are beautiful. The steps are lit up with a discrete light that provides enough light to "not trip on the stairs", but not so much that you are blinded by light if you're trying to enjoy a fire-pit or quiet night under the stars. THE CREW: There is no way Tony could have ever done all this work alone, so the quality and professionalism of his crew is also worth noting. Tony's crew was great. They showed up promptly every morning, and didn't leave in the evening until everything was swept up and clean. Literally, everything. They would sweep my driveway, street, sidewalks, etc., all after working 8+ hours and often as the sun was setting or later. I never had to worry about coming home to a mess or having neighbors complain. Watching Tony's crews work was awesome - there were general between 4-9 guys working **** ** any given day. My pool company's project manager stopped by my backyard one day while I wasn't there and while I was on the phone with him he gladly told me that he has been in this business for a long time, but even he couldn't believe how hard Tony's crew was working and how well their work was coming out. SUMMARY: It's worth noting that ALL of my other contractors (pool, plumber, etc.) and several of my neighbors all knew Tony, his work, and his crews - and everybody - literally everybody had good things to say about him. There was something very reassuring knowing that the company and people you contracted with have been in the business for a while, have built a solid reputation, and truly do great work. I'm looking forward to working with Tony on several additional projects in the spring.

  • GreenTrax provided us with a detailed proposal outlining the scope of their work with quantities and materials so we knew they understood the job well. We had a narrow window to complete the job and GreenTrax delivered on time with the right equipment, personnel and communication. I look forward to using them again.

  • There was a communication break down with the company and their staff so they were about two hours later than I was expecting them but once they arrived things went very well and very quickly. Everything was cleared out and cleaned up and mulched very professionally. The two gentlemen who came worked very hard and very quickly. In fact they completed my list of chores a little before time was up so they were able to leave a little early which worked out great as it was just starting to rain some. They were very easy to work with and I would definitely hire them back.

  • I received ~6.75 cu yd of Color Enhanced Black Mulch. Rip-off! Buyer Beware! For the record, I have used Saunders Landscaping for several years now, and have, for the most part, been pleased. Not so this year. Let me start by pointing out that Saunders Landscaping screens the posts. Only "positive" reviews will get through. I have worked around their screening. The way it works is that they send you a follow-up email thanking you for using them and asking you to give them a five star review. The email then poses the question "Would you recommend us to a friend?" followed by two buttons "Yes" or "No". Yes takes you to the review screen where I am posting right now. "No" does not take you to the review screen but another window where you can tell them why your experience was not positive. When "No" is selected, the comments entered are private to Saunders and will not be posted for general consumption. This year, as in years past, I ordered 10 cu yd of Color Enhanced Black Mulch - delivered. The driver was courteous and did a nice job placing the pile on the tarp in the driveway - hence the only reason Saunders gets one star instead of zero. The mulch seemed less dark black than in past years and the pile was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller as well. Belly button high vs. eye level. I had guessed that it was only going to cover 2/3 of my gardens and, by skimping on the coverage, I was right. 1/3 of my gardens are currently not mulched. Let me say that I have done these gardens, which have not changed in size, for many years. Just myself applying the mulch, same gardens, same wheelbarrow, etc. 10 cu yd always covers with plenty to spare. 9 cu yd is really all I need, but the price break for 10 cu yd makes it cheaper to order 10 vs 9. The detail oriented side of me (I know there are other terms for it but go easy, I'm borderline Autistic) has allowed me to tabulate the number of wheelbarrow loads required to cover each of the garden areas. So my coverage rate remains the same, year after year, for each garden section. A total of 77 wheelbarrow loads (~3.5 cu ft each) for the gardens and I usually have several loads left over. Except for this year where I only got 52 wheelbarrow loads, none leftover. Thus missing at least 25 loads needed to cover the remaining garden area. Hence a phone call to Saunders asking them to credit my account for the missing mulch. They said that I must have applied it thicker this year. Nonsense. The coverage rate is the same every year as I have described in detail above. For those of you proficient in math, my calculations show that I only received 6 3/4 cu yd of mulch. (52 wheelbarrow loads * 3.5 cu ft per wheelbarrow load / 27 cu ft per cu yd = 6.75 cu yd) Far from the 10 cu yd that I had ordered.

  • They were pretty good. They did a pretty nice job. They did what they said they were going to do. What stool out the most to me was the personnel. Good quality, just thought they were a little pricey, that’s all. I don’t recall their punctuality, I guess they were good, because I don’t recall getting upset about them not showing up in time. Professionalism – They were very much, they were right on target. They did a good job. The reason I would recommend them is yard work.

  • Extremely well-this is my third job with Stewart. The craftsmanship and collaborative design was outstanding. Notwithstanding some camilias in the front courtyard were well out of warranty, they noticed they were not taking and replace them. Austin is outstanding at all aspects and is very responsive to even the smallest question.
