Hospital Care reviews in Annapolis

There were actually two visits within a month to the ER for my husband.
The first visit was wonderful; staff, doctors, nurses were efficient, gentle, knowledgeable and explained everything.
    The second visit:
Doctor would not prescribe enough medication to take care of the pain and lower his blood pressure.
    Doctor was rude and condescending.
The doctor was nasty and when discussing a medication with my husband, told him that he was wrong....that a particular medication did not come in pill form which my husband had a prescription at home. She left the room and came back later and told him that she was wrong and that it did come in pill apology.
Although a Johns Hopkins Neurologist had called the ER and asked for specific tests, they did not administer them. The ER doctor/staff claimed that they did not receive that information. I know that they did because I stood right next to the Doctor when she ordered the tests.
The doctor released him at midnight without warning and told my husband that he had to leave and she didn't care where he went and that he would have to wait in the waiting area for a ride. She didn't care that I had to drive from Annapolis to pick him up and wouldn't let him wait in his room for the 30-45 minutes it would take me to pick him up.

They did a great job.  They are very up to date.  They are very capable and clean.  They have various floors for visitors and patients.  The staff was good.  There was one issue with one person in the hospital.

I went to this facility for an annual mammogram.  The check-in process was quick and the staff was friendly.  I did have to wait about 25 minutes to be seen; however, the technician was wonderful and made the experience as easy as possible. The actual time for the mammogram was only about 10 minutes.  Even though I had to wait a bit, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and technician would make me go back.

Anne Arundel Medical Center is a great place. The surgeon, the oncologist and the rest of the staff were all great. They were really good unfortunately she couldn't be cured of her cancer. In fact what I understood is that she lived longer under their care than most people that had her type of cancer. They kept me informed about her condition all the time. Everyone at the hospital was very personable. They were very professional. Their availability was very good. There was a separate number to call in case of emergencies. I would use them again in the future if required.

The medical center offers a variety of services and I have had numerous interactions with them. They seem to be like any medical facility, they seem to have different practitioners and I don't know if they are contractors. The people I have interacted with have been pleasant. The facility is well equipped and clean.

We chose them because they have a neonatal unit and we wanted to make sure that our bases were covered. She is fine but we wanted to be sure. They were great. It is a larger labor and delivery center. They were packed full the three days that we were there so maybe there was a little less individualized attention than you might be able to get at a smaller hospital. We thought that was sort of a trade off for having the neonatal unit down the hall. We had a great experience. The nurses were helpful and attentive. The security they provided for the infants was comforting. They put a little anklet on the baby so you can't leave the labor/delivery area without being approved. She looked like baby low jack because she was born a little early and she was small and it fell off. The nurse was right there. It was a really great experience. The food was on the better end of hospital food and they would allow you to bring in your own food if you wanted.

They were really good. I had an outside doctor. They have a whole floor called the joint floor that is strictly for joint patients basically for knee and hip replacements. They don't do too many ankles. Before I went in for the surgery, they invited us to a class on the processes or procedures and gave us a ringed binder with all the details in it. I was there with my wife. When I was in the hospital itself, it was unbelievable. They had single rooms and they had volunteers. The nursing staff was really good, but I didn't ask for much help. They were always available. They started the therapy the next day. I literally walked the next day with the help of a walker. They had a very good system. They also had a monthly luncheon where they invited all the patients that had joint replacement surgeries in the past months and they asked their opinions. There were at least two hundred or three hundred people there. The worst complaint was somebody complaining about the selection of the food. But even that was very nice. My comment was that I had a pleasurable experience at the hospital. I had scheduled the surgery two months in advance so I didn't have any problems. My room was outstanding. They would have set up a bed for my wife if she had wanted to stay the night. They were very much into team approach and encouraged partners to participate in the patient's recovery. I hate to say this but if I have to go for a knee replacement, I would definitely go there.

Two blessed events this year acquainted us with Anne Arundel Medical Center's Maternity Unit. We were extremely impressed with the care our daughters and grandaughters received there. the rooms are all private and the nursing staff was wonderful! They were patient, thorough, knowledgeable and caring. Our girls told us that the food was better than they expected. The visiting hours were great too!

This group caters to women and my treatment here has been exceptional. Appointments are made through a centralized service. Upon arrival you sign in and take a seat in a well appointed waiting room. Your name is called and you are checked in by a friendly and efficient staff member. Your technologist will call you and escort you to a changing room. Everything is thoroughly explained in a friendly, understandable manner. The procedure was performed efficiently and with care. I waited while the films were read in case more were required. Once assured the films were OK I was escorted back to the changing room. I received a both a phone call and a follow up letter advising me of my results.
