Hair Salon reviews in Annapolis

The salon has a nice atmosphere, the cut and style were good and the stylist was very friendly. But something went wrong with the color, and the stylist knew it. She tried to fix it, twice, which I appreciated, but it still wasn't right, and my hair is too processed for me to want to try again. I have had color problems a couple of times over the years before this. I know it happens, but I've never had it happen at such a high end salon, with the fix not satisfactory. Also, they use trainees sometimes to do the blow dry. They explained that they do that when they squeeze people in for color appointments and that most customers "are happy to get in for the color and are glad just to get their hair dried." I won't go there again. They charge a lot and I don't think the service is any better than what I've gotten at many lower priced salons.

I recently moved to the area and had to find a new stylist?from the moment I called the salon, they were friendly and helpful, paired me with an excellent stylist and I had such a positive experience, I decided to try their other services as well. As a result, I developed a great relationship with a new stylist (Becky), I have a new esthetician (Kassandra) and started to get my massages there as well at the spa.

I've gone there for the last fourteen years.  They are a full service hair salon.  He's been cutting hair for the last 25 years.  We are at the same place and he does a good business.  He does well.  Clint is the owner and his brother works with him.  He's got 3 or 4 ladies that does haircut as well.  They have always done a good job and they are well known in the area.  Most of them are very professional.

Norma always does a great job picking out flattering hair colors and hair cuts for me. She always shows me different ways to style my hair. Norma is friendly and a nice lady. Her salon is clean and attractive. The other employees are very nice too. I enjoy the friendly relaxed atmosphere.

When you find a good barber or stylist who listens to you and does a good job you stay with them! I, along with my boys, have been getting our hair cut by Savvas or his sons for over 20 years. I dread the day that the father of the trio, Savvas, decides to finally retire because then I have to find another barber.  A nice interior, good conversation, and they serve people of all ages, from kids getting their first haircut to twenty or thirty somethings to those who don't have much left to cut.

I have very thin hair that is fine and has no body. I can bring in a picture and show it to Angey, and she cuts it exactly right each time. She listens to what I have to say and tells me if my hair type can have that cut, and if not, makes other suggestion.
She has just bought the salon she was working in. The salon is not fancy with all the bells and whistles that the larger salons provide but you can be certain you will get a good cut or color at a reasonable price, and be finished in a timely fashion.

This salon was a total nightmare. I had been having my hair cut at the superb
Great Clips in Arnold, Md. I have really long hair, down below my waist and
needed to have a few inches cut off.
I went to this salon because I live in Annapolis and it is very convenient to
my residence. When I walked in, I immediately had bad vibes. The woman who
greeted me had a terrible hairdo, and looked - how to say - totally
unsophisticated. Her teeth were awful. But I was just getting a trim and
thought, well, she can cut off 2 inches, what's hard about that?
I noticed another customer in the shop getting her hair cut. Or should I say,
shorn? She was having her hair cut right down to the skin. I called over the
counter and asked if she was getting a crew cut. She said, no, what do you mean?
I told her that she might want to look in the mirror, there were large patches
of her dark hair that were cut right down to the scalp, and it looked like she
had a scalp disease. The woman cutting her hair also had dark hair cut in
    strange circles with scalp showing.
It was like a scary movie. The hair cutter doing the other client kept
cutting away at hair that was like .0003and quot; long.
This should have been a clue. But I thought, what can go wrong with slight
trim? I had gone to Great Clips in Arnold for years and they are fantastic, very
customer-oriented and they always did exactly as I asked.
I sat in the chair and gave the woman, apparently in charge then, a hair comb
since I have very thick hair. I asked her to spray my hair and cut it without
washing, as always. She didn't spray any water on my hair which they usually do,
and kept trying to use a small-toothed comb, which tore my hair and was painful.
I nearly yelled at her several times, to use the wide-toothed comb I had
    brought. She ignored me.
Then she began to cut. At first I paid no attention. I had specifically
showed her the length I wanted off - 2 inches off, and measured on my hair ends.
I showed her this several times, just to make sure. She said okay and proceeded
to cut. When she got around to the front, I was shocked.
She had cut off at least 6-8 inches of my very long hair, and now it was up
to my shoulders. I yelled at her to stop immediately. She seemed confused. I
yelled, and quot;I told you to just cut off 2 inches!and quot; She didn't know what to say. I
asked her what was wrong with her - does she not know what 2 inches were, after
    I showed her?
I told her to leave the left side alone. So now I left the shop with 1 side
much longer than the other. My right side is very short, just past my shoulders.
I continually asked her what was it that she couldn't understand, and she was
flabbergasted, mute. I saw piles of my long hair on the floor, much longer that
what I had asked for. I'm sorry now that I didn't get some, because I would have
no conpunction to suing this idiot in civil court. You ladies with long hair
    will totally get this.
I paid for the cut in shock, but as soon as I got home, I called and spoke to
the manager. He was completely sympathetic, and the other hair cutter got on the
phone with me and said that she had heard me tell the moron who cutting my hair
to only take off 2 inches and that she had witnessed the idiot cutting off too
    much hair.
The manager tried to calm me down and offered free cuts, and also I told him
that I was calling my bank to cancel the check, which he was cool with. He tried
to soothe me, but the damage was done.
If the woman who ruined my hair had said that she had no experience with long
hair, and could I make an appointment with another cutter who did, that would
have been fine. But this brainless wonder wanted the few dollars in tips, or I
have no clue what her problem was.
I'm still considering suing them, only because when you go into a hair salon
and are very verbal about what you want - especially with long hair - they
should pay close attention, and not cut your hair according to their plans. I
personally think that the woman who cut my hair was not very intelligent, as her
own terrible hair-do reflected her education.
So now I am waiting to grown my hair out. One side is 6and quot; longer than the
other, and I wear it up. But I am cautioning all women to avoid this salon and
go to the Great Clips in Arnold. DO NOT USE THIS SALON - IT IS A WAITING HAIR
DISASTER. I have since filed a report with the Better Businesses of Maryland. If only I can help another woman with long hair, I will be happy, somewhat.

As a first-time client, I was impressed with the experience over all. Mario gave me an appointment just two days after I called, suggesting a late afternoon appointment so that he could devote all his attention to me. When I got there, he took the time to get to know me--my lifestyle, how I usually managed my hair, what I liked, and what I expected from a hairdresser/stylist. I found it easy to talk to him, and believe we hit it off. He agreed, for instance, that a good haircut was the foundation of great looking hair. As a visual artist myself, I was pleased that he had an excellent visual esthetic. I left feeling better, looking good, and totally and quot;sold.and quot; Mario is a keeper for a hairdresser, long term!

Fantastic! I have been going to this salon for over 20 years. Five years ago I relocated to the eastern shore of MD and now drive 1.5 hours to Oakton every three weeks in order to have my hair done here. It is well worth it!

I had an excellent experience, Mario gave me a wonderful haircut. I have very thick hair and needed a haircut badly, he took a lot time and did a great job. I will definitely use him in the future
