Furniture Refinishing reviews in Annapolis

The sofa: he took a few stitches and then glued the rest---the glue showed, and I was not happy--so he painted it with red paint. He should have stitched the whole thing---on 2 cushions that had leather scratches from dog, he painted with red paint. When you sat on the sofa, the paint cracked off, and it got on your hands and clothes. He told me to cover it. I said if he couldn't do the job, he shouldn't have taken it---and he said he did the best he could. But it is terrible---the paint is shiny and the leather is not on the rest of the sofa. On one piece of furniture he fixed it fine, but he said it was $250.00 and I said that was too much before he did the work. So he said $200.00. When he brought back the piece he said it is $250.00 because it took him more time and he changed the price on the original estimate. On the third piece, I did not tell him to fix the scratches, I would think about the price; and he came back to fix it when I wasn't there. My husband let him in and let him fix it, my husband thought he thought I said ok. So he paid him. As to the sofa-, he said he would refund $150.00. He did not and it is 2-1/2 weeks later. I used him although he was $100.00 more than Guardsman because he was local.

Mr Pulley answered the phone the first time I called. He said he could be over to our house the next day to give an estimate and pick up furniture if we wanted him to do it. He arrived when he said he would. After giving my wife estimate and explaining what he would do, my wife decided to have him refinish table and chairs. He also let us come to his home and see the finish after he stained the table and painted the chairs. He finished the project on time as promised. We are very happy with the finish on the table and chairs. He did an excellent job matching the table top stain to the kitchen cabinets. He also arranged to have glass top cut to fit the top of the round table. Overhaul he did an excellent job and delivered it on time!

Mr. Puley  did a wonderful job.  I inherited a beautiful cherry table that had quite a bit of wear and tear from many years of use.  Not only is the finish job excellent, Mr. Puley also replaced a small piece of missing veneer so skillfully that I can't find it!   He is a very nice man and most pleasant to work with.  I highly recommend his services.

It's hard to find a quality repair option when a manufacturer decides to no longer honor a "lifetime" warranty. Fortunately, I stumbled on David Roseman, Dr. Furniture.
I contacted the business through their website, and got a response in a few hours. We exchanged emails, I sent photographs of the chairs and David was able to assess the problem and suggest an alternative repair. By the end of the second day, we had set up an appointment. His assistant called the day before to confirm, and give me a 2-3 hour window of arrival. He arrived on the dot.
Let me just say that David Roseman is exactly the repair expert you'd want in your house. He's professional, skilled and fun to talk to. He had the first chair in pieces on the floor in a matter of minutes. Screws, bolts, frame, cushions, reclining mechanism -- all were laid out in order, while he removed the leather upholstery and springs from the frame. It looked as though the chair had exploded. Before long, though, he had completely installed flexible webbing to replace the springs, added an additional layer of high-density foam, and reassembled the chair.
Then, he did it all over again to the other chair! The price was more than fair. and it took about 90 minutes.
So, here we sit. Absolutely over the moon in our matching leather recliners. It has been three years since we've been this comfortable, knowing the repair was done right. We could not be more pleased with this experience!

    His work is unbelievable!!!
Mr. Pulley was very courteous and gave me a history of his years of experience when I met him.   The furniture piece was old and had been in a vacant house for several years.  There were deep scratches, paint marks, and a split in part of the wood.  He said he would do his best to fix the split.  He also said he would have it back to me before Thanksgiving, which was in another 12 days.
To my surprise, I received the piece a little over a week later and before Thanksgiving.  I could see the top of the piece as he brought it through the front door.  I could not believe my eyes.  I would have never thought my grandmothers furniture would have looked so beautiful.  As for that split in the wood, you could not see it all.  Mr. Pulley did a fantastic job!!!  Of course, it was the topic of conversation with the friends who visited for Thanksgiving.
I have several other pieces of antique family furniture which I refinished myself years ago.  I did it as an amateur, and now I would like the pieces restored by a professional.  Yes, I will be calling Mr. Pulley again to restore my family heirlooms.
Thank you to Angie's List for recommending Mr. Pulley.  I am so happy I found someone to help keep my family history alive.

Michael took my Craig's list find and turned it into an heirloom quality dining room set. The dining Table and six chairs were in very poor condition. Parts had broken off and there was a horrible blond colored restaurant type of finish. Michael was able to take off The offending finish and return it to its original beauty. He was also able to Piece together the inner workings of the dining table and put everything back together and in working condition. Now the circa 1920s solid mahogany dining room set is a showpiece. Michael also repaired and refinished my mothers Stickley dining room set. I was amazed and delighted with the results. Michael's work is very high quality and suitable for your most treasured antiques. Michael also is a cabinetmaker and does extremely good custom work. He is well organized and prepared and follows through as promised.

I am an Annapolis based designer and have worked with UR for 17+ years. I don't use anyone else to upholster or refinish. They are professional, have great fabric selection and just so easy to work with. I recommend clients to them all the time. They pick up the furniture then return a beautiful finished product! Thank you OB, Dave& Dave for all the great work!

This is the third time I have had him work on old family chairs over the past few years.  His work is excellent and well worth what he charges.  He is extremely fast with the work.  When he picks up the job he repairs them and returns them.  They do not sit in his warehouse until he gets to them.  Would highly recommend him for furniture restoration.

He did expceptional work, especially for the price, which also included travel time. He was on time, and actually finished before the date he quoted me with. He was very personable and an overall friendly guy. I expected him to repair the wicker on my chair, he went above and beyond and completely replaced it. Words really can't describe how excellent his work is. His work goes beyond what he did for me, he does all types of woodwork. I assume it is just as magnificent as what he did for me. I will be contacting him in the near future to do more furniture work. I highly recommend him.
