Animal Breeding reviews in Annapolis

I sent in adoption application with required $20.00 fee (included more to help organization) and, after getting no response, emailed back to find out why in August.  The reply implied this was my fault since it was my responsibility to inquire back.  I dropped my search there and opted for other rescue organizations.  Found my dream guy at the local SPCA.  He's not the shepherd I hoped for --- instead, he's a mix black lab/cocker spaniel mix with the cutest ears and breast coat you'll ever see.

I was 20 years out from dog ownership so, though I understand their need to protect their pets, they might want to consider nurturing the potential owners as well.  Adoption is a traumatic step for both dog and owner.   I ended up taking them off my "Favorites" list.

I contacted them from their website; not through Angie's list.  Last April, I completed their adoption application; paying the $20 fee, even sending additional to show good faith.  I was told I would "hear from a volunteer to schedule a home visit."  I waited; receive no call or further emails.  When I contacted them in August about the delay, their response was my last email "was sent April 21 for which we did not receive a reply."  They also questioned why the vet I'd listed for my previous dog's care had no records of my being there.  My last dog was with me until 1994, 20 years ago, so most likely my Vet does not hold records from that long ago.
I applaud MAGSR for finding their shepherds good homes after treatments they've received in the past, some in dire need, but what about the human component?  Do I have to be treated like a bad omen unless proven otherwise?
I asked them to trash my application and I would look elsewhere for a "forever" companion.  Sometimes dogs aren't the only ones who need to find their way; potential owners can feel that way too.
