Basement Waterproofing reviews in Annapolis

Entire process was as smooth as a project like this could be. Wendy thoroughly inspected and documented my crawl space mold, drainage, and moisture issues. She tediously reviewed my project and provided a variety of options. The crews that came out (1 - mold remediation/cleanup and 2 - encapsulation) were professional, prompt, clean, and responsive to questions I asked. MM&W isn't the cheapest company but they are the best and I would hire again...although I hope I don't ever need to.

Excellent. This company consistently does top quality work. They are not the least expensive but they do the job correctly from the onset. Loads of experience, excellent customer service and communication. Overall a very impressive and trustworthy company.

Angelo showed up right on time, reviewed my project and gave me a very clear understanding of what the project would entail. He was very thorough yet extremely personable. He took extra time to help me understand the benefits/cost of interior vs. exterior waterproofing. I highly recommend All Aspects Waterproofing.

Maryland Mold & Waterproofing did an excellent job for me and they did it at about 1/2 the price bid by a competitor - a difference of several thousand dollars! The system has been working well since installed, with good effect on all three levels of my house. Their installer was very professional and very considerate, taking care to clean up perfectly after the work was done.

It went well for the most part. However, the workmen were delayed in getting here and worked late into the night to complete the project--like 11pm late. One of the drainage boxes was not installed correctly, but another workman came and, after thinking "outside the box" (his humor), was able to correct the problem. Unable to insert price, which was approx. $7000.

Very well! I called Armored Basement after checking Angie's List and having competitors come out. Jay came out and diagnosed the problem (no hard sell). He seemed to know what he was doing, and what competitors do say. Chris crew arrived on time and started to work. The crew covered up stuff in basement with plastic and started to do their thing. Jack-hammered out the inside perimeter of my basement floor, removed the old concrete, sump, drain hose, and then drilled drain holes into the cinder blocks (cells) above the footer, to allow water to drain from them into the dug up trench. Next they installed gravel, the new drain system, more gravel, then covered with cement, not to forget installing a new sump pit and 3/4 HP pump. Installed a new drain grate in front of the outside basement entranceway that drains into the new system. They were finished that afternoon. All of the workers were very personable, courteous, plus were ready to answer any questions I had. Jay, Chris the crew of 5 were very good, and Tara who scheduled the work was also very helpful. We recommend Armored Basement Waterproofing. They have great customer service, qualified experts, and prices that are hard to beat Bring it winter! Description of work: French drain & drain system, walls covered with vinyl, new sump well, sump pump.

I had multiple discussions with Mark Hall, the project manager.  He outlined the schedule and all of the work that would be done.  He assured me that he would not have to remove a closet door, that we would get 36" windows, and that he would assist in obtaining all necessary permits.  He explained in great detail where the windows would be going, and provided professional responses to all my questions.  He assured me that no window opening would be cut unless the window installation would be completed on that day.  He provided a 4 day timeline to complete the project.
After three days, they boarded up a huge hole in the basement and left for the weekend.  Temperatures on this weekend were projected to be in the teens.  We were assured that no hole would be cut unless the window was going to be installed on that day, LIE.
We had been told by Mark that there would be no requirement to remove the Deck Steps.  They were removed, without any warning.  LIE
Instead of working to install the window, they continued working on the existing window install.  This particular window installation went very badly when they decided to cut into the wood part of the foundation to install the window, added that they made a mistake and had to build a header.  What?  Waiting on structural engineer from contractor to determine level of damage to the structural integrity of the home.  This level of negligence is unacceptable.
We were told that 36" windows would be installed, 30" windows were installed.
I had asked about code requirements, and the answers could not be provided to me.  I spent some time looking into these codes that are readily available online.  I personally found a basic code violation in a matter of minutes.  After clearly documenting the inadequacies of the work performed, I had to discontinue working with Mr. Hall.  He had no acceptable answers for the shoddy workmanship that was clearly on display in our home.
We immediately checked online for permits, all required permits were NOT pulled, and the only one that was pulled was not approved until days after they started working.
Not only am i fighting to get my money returned for the work done, but I have been put out for over 4,000 dollarss in additional damages due to their lack of professionalism, honesty, workmanship and proper communication.

Joe worked with us and was available on his mobile to provide status and professional opinions. He followed up with us to keep us appraised of schedule changes, He responded positively to additional work scope requests and charged a fair price for additional requested services beyond his contracted price.

-Workmen arrived early and stabilizers were installed, followed by anti-mold spray and installation of sump pump.  I was advised that the work had to dry prior to the vapor cover installation and they would return around 1pm.  Later they called to say there were complications at another job and they would be late.  At 6pm they returned and finished the work around 10pm.

The catch basins were installed on 11/22.  One of the basins did not work properly and because the ground was frozen with snow, that work was not corrected until 4/25/14 by mutual agreement.

I am pleased with the quality of the workmanship overall, especially by the work done in the basement and that of the follow-up technician who corrected the catch basin problem.

I was disappointed when the initial work crew did not return until 6pm and I had to twiddle my thumbs while they finished their work into the night.  And I was disappointed that, while the catch basin workmen did a fine job with the first one, the second one was unsuccessful.

Completely disappointed- and on many different fronts.

    !. Company rep was late

    2. After a 20 minute inspection he gave me  a verbal estimate "between $8000 and $35000" (what does one do with that?) without clarifying exactly what would be done.

    3. He wanted me to tell him what my budget was up front

    4. He promised me he would provide a written report - which was never delivered

    5. After two weeks I called the office and told them I took a day off work to have him come out and asked when would I receive the promised write-up?  The woman in the shop relayed mis-information passed from him and then she ALSO asked me what my budget for the work was.  First I said I didn't even know the scope of work since they didn't provide the requested report and I also pointed out that  in my opinion it was a "process foul" for them to again be asking me how much I had to spend on the project.  I never heard back from the company after that.

These are just a few of the red flags (maybe the strangest part was when the guy was quoting verses from the bible regarding "God's outlook on mold" - and incidentally, he quoted the bible as poorly as he quoted the job at hand!!).  What really rubbed me the wrong way was I took a day off from work to accommodate them and the professionalism and product delivery on their part proved to be a waste of my time.

My experience with MJ Home Services was a flop and my honest recommendation would be "steer clear".
