Advanced Roofing Siding and Windows Inc
They did a great job from beginning to end. I contacted Leo in September for a quote estimate and from there we went through the design and dates for the project. Leo and his crew arrived on November 21 and got everything done on the same day. It was a pleasure hiring advanced roofing and Windows. When I came back from work I had a new sliding glass door, a new window and the siding for the front of the house all changed. All windows, glass door, trims and siding was changed. They did a great job with the workload and time management. I was impressed. Leo and his crew will be a must hire for us from now on. If you are looking for a company to hire. Call them they are a must!

    Energy Monster
Energy monster is the best company I have dealt with in a long time, shamus and his crew were great and very polite, professional, and the cleaned and vacuumed up everything before they left,. It was like I had no work done after they left they were that great. Even the girl on the phone that set up everything was very pleasant,I would hire and recommend them very highly to everyone. Thank you for the best experience,

    Fontaine Enterprises Inc
This company was referred to me by the MassSave company via my home evaluation thru my electric company. I wish I did this years ago. The men were friendly, explained their process & answered my questions. They cleaned up well after themselves & I was so impressed by their work that I called the boss to not interested rave about them, but also request they return to clean my gutters & install the shields. As soon as they finished, my basement which is too cold to hangout in, was 10-12 degrees warmer. I can now go down there without putting on layers just to go do laundry.

    The Best Insulation Services Inc
The Technician arrived at my home on the scheduled date given, and they did a walk through before they start the job.
After the job was completed they cleaned everything and not only that but a final walk through was done before they left my property.
They stand behind their services, not only that but they are a truly professional.  I loved the work which was performed.
    Well recommended,
    Josefa DaSilva

    Energy Protectors
Due to the crumbling ceilings above the drop ceiling on the third floor of a 3-family, they were not able to dense-pack under the attic flooring. So, with my permission, they tore up the flooring and just blew insulation on top to get an appropriate R-Value. Everything went well.

    Santon Plumbing and Heating
Their pricing was pretty normal, I did some comparison on that. They did a really good job. They were really not great about communication, like emails or phone calls. I would have really appreciated if they would respond to questions and things like that. A couple of times they just kind of ignored. Maybe they were just busy, I don't know. But, as a customer I would like to hear back, if I had a question.

They did insulation in three locations of the house. They did really good work. I wished they could have emailed a little quicker sometimes. They cleaned up really well, much better than some other insulation people I hired at a different house. I was very pleased with their work. The guys were very friendly when they were here and very respectful.

This is an 1897 Victorian 8 room 'cottage' w/much original equipment and built-in features. Items, for ex., cabinets, were custom-built so today's mass-produced items didn't fit.  This required creative thought and design on Sam's part to figure out how to marry new to old while maintaining the harmony and beauty of the original plan.  For ex., he went to at least 4 sources to try to find wood wainscot rather the plastic composite more readily available, after 3 different plans for saving the original would not work. He had to deal w/an owner, me, who groaned in pain when some of these original features could not be saved.  He worked hard to preserve what he could within my budget.  For ex., the claw foot tub was re-glazed rather than replaced (one that size would not even have been able to be brought into the bathroom now).

The original damage occurred during a period when others also had damage, so delays occurred because workers were not available.  In addition, Sam had to orchestrate a large number of subcontractors and other workers.  To date over 40 separate individuals have been working in or on my house.  With so much repair required, prioritization of sub-projects is a priority to plan from the beginning as Sam did, while also being flexible enough to address unexpected issues.

As walls were opened up, such unexpected problems were encountered (ex. a carpenter ant nest requiring some rebuilding there) or were created (for ex., damage to a water pipe which led to a major replacement project).  I did not expect the number of detours to repair items that were not part of the original damage.  Also when something is opened up, it has to be repaired to current code standards, again requiring additional work that I had not anticipated.  (I did learn that variances to code can be obtained in limited situations.)

Do anticipate that you may have to leave the house.  For ex., while the water and sewer lines were being repaired, I had to be out for several weeks since the water was shut off then even though they did try to avoid that.

I am so grateful to Sam, his crew, and subcontractors who have been working on this long and involved project!

    Progressive Energy Services LLC
My aluminum-sided house is a challenge. I purchased it in 2014, and during that winter had a pipe in an closet along an exterior wall freeze/thaw several times in January 2015. The pipe leads to an upstairs, unheated dormer containing a toilet and sink. The house sits high on a hill with the west side of the house getting the full force of the northwest wind, and the west-side kitchen and guest room (where the pipe was located in a closet) was very drafty when the wind blew.
Tom Regh from Progressive Energy completed all assessment and work himself (the latter with the assistance of his apprentice). Tom was very pleasant,  professional and easy to work with. After explaining some solutions he thought might help, he let me decide how I wanted to proceed--there was no hard sell--and then gave me a price estimate. (The final tally came in on the low end of the estimate). He and his assistant spent two days at my house completing the work. They were very reliable--showed up on time, cleaned up with a shop vac afterward and bundled the debris so I could dispose of it via the city trash pickup.
The repairs took place after the early January 2016 cold snap, because that was the earliest he could schedule me, so I won't be able to know for sure how much difference the insulation has made. Time will tell. But the blast of cold air that was impacting the pipe has been significantly reduced.  I don't expect that ALL the leakage problems have been solved--because I wasn't willing to have the west side of the house taken down to the studs and re-insulated and sided, nor part of the kitchen ceiling beneath the upstairs bathroom removed to fully expose the plumbing. It's an older house, and I think there was a certain amount of not very expert DYI work done by previous owners. That said, I won't hesitate to use Tom's services in future if I want to pursue some of the additional options he suggested.

What a great experience! I fist spoke with Carol over the phone.  Because there is a family member with a disability living at the location, she put us at the top of the on-call/standby list.  The work was scheduled to be done in late January but they were able to come a month earlier!  Jimmy and his crew were polite, professional, hardworking and clean.  They finished the job the same day.
