Health Care Facility reviews in Worcester

Overall, they do a fair to good job as a health insurance provider. The premiums are fairly expensive, but they pay the physicians in a reasonable time. I am disappointed with the amount that they pay for certain services which are and quot;covered.and quot; They have a covered rate which they will pay and we need to come up with the difference. It seems that we regularly pay some amount beyond the copay unless it is a straight forward, annual physical. Also, we get numerous bills whenever we have tests run, which is very difficult to keep track of. When my husband went in for an annual physical, he had several tests done. We have received separate bills for each test; blood work, diagnostics, office visit, etc.

We just recently recommended another family member and they can not thank us enough. THey are as thrill as our family. What can I say any longer? Ben, Mike and all staff ,keep doing the wonderful job you are always doing.
I know that I have now a piece of mind even though dad is dealing with Alzheimer's. You are truly see the person behind and it is so rare to find.
From the bottom of our heart, thank you all Dodge Park.

    Saint Vincent Hospital
It was really very good.  This was the first time I went through a hospital process that was so positive from beginning to end, from registration to checkup.  The nurses were wonderful and the hospital itself was so neat.  It has a big atrium with a waterfall and trees and everything is built around it.  It is easy to get around and it is easy to park.  I can’t believe we have such a jewel in our midst.

I would strongly recommend them. It is a very inviting environment and it was very clean. It can be difficult because the patients are all in need but they seemed to be doing a good job in meeting those needs. There is always someone there to ask questions. There was just once that I didn't find anyone but otherwise there is someone to answer questions.

They responded quickly to our requests for services. If we had any questions or concerns, a nurse would arrive as quickly as possible. We hired a live-in healthaid as well and they cooperated very well with her. Even though they were with 2 different groups, everything was seamless. They had good communication so we were aware of what was going on and what to expect.

They were very good.   The transplant unit was excellent.  They were very professional and very good at what they did. They are very busy people and they are never available as much as you would like them to be.  The surgeons can be abrupt but they answered all our questions.

I would recommend them to anyone. They did very well. The hospital environment is very good and I was very happy when I there for a surgery. The staffs were excellent and they treated me very well. My surgeon was excellent and she was also a good company to my wife. I got out of there pretty quickly.

Once I  was in the ER I waited the typical five hours before getting seen.  Then I was moved to a stretcher in the hall, of the observation rooms.
The nurse was very nice and started a line, to take blood, and get me set up.  Once the Doctor, Dr D, Polan  came to see me, he took one look at my infection and said It was not in the joint, and redid an ultrasound.  He dismissed everything my primary care doctor, and rumatology had observed, saying they don't know anything.  He had a real chip on his shoulder.  He told me he would not do the MRI, and would talk to my doctors about not admitting me to the hospital.  Since I already had a line in he agreed to give me one dose of antibiotics.  He told my husband to come back in a couple hours to pick me up, if that is what my doctors agreed to.  That would be 10pm.  I was eventually moved into a more private observation room.  I asked several times to talk to the doctor, becuase I was not comfortable going home.  She said I needed to be patient and he would see me when he had time.
I was given the wrong medication.  They gave me a penicylin related antibiotic, and I am alergic to penicyllin.  They asked me several times if I was allergic to any medications, and I told them penicylin, I also wear a medical bracelet that has my penicylin allergy in it, along with it all over my charts.
At 1:30 in the morning the doctor came into my room and told me he was discharging me.  I told him I was not comfortable and would like to go with the plan of my doctors to be admitted.  I wanted to stay and get the MRI, and continue with the antibioticc treatment.  He told me not to tell him how to do his job,  He said he would not make me leave, but he was going to tell the insurance not to pay for it, and it will cost me thousands of dollars.
I asked the nurse if I could see another doctor for a second opinion, but they refused and said it is not their policy.
At 7:00 am I was given more pain medication, I had gotten several doses throughout my stay.  Then as she was loading me up with pain medicatoin a new covering doctor came in and told me she was discharging me.  I explained to her that the previous doctor and I did not see eye to eye, but she would not listen to me.  She told me she saw me running up and down the halls all night.  I got up one time with the help of the nurse, I was all hooked up to intravenous, and she helped me to the bathroom.  So I would love to see the security camera's of that.  I told them I would like to wait until 8am when my primary doctors are in so we can discuss my staying.  She refused and told me I had 15 minutes to leave or they would call security to escort me out.  I called my husband for a ride, and the nurse came in every five minutes to tell me I have five minutes left before they call the police.  I left crying.  I had just received the medication, and was having a hard time walking, and was very sick.  I waited outside in the rain for my husband to pick me up, and headed to my primary doctor for the appointment they said they set up for 8am.  When we got to my primary doctor I could hardly stand, and needed a wheelchair, I was very dizzy, weak, and sick.
Also while in the hospital they never gave me any of my medications, while their, and I had to repeatedly ask them to check my sugar levels.
My primary said they never spoke to the ER and I had no appointment.  They squeezed me in with a doctor I had never seen.  This doctor agreed I was treated badly, and they wasted a day of treatment for me.  He immediatly ordered the MRI, and if negative would admit me to the hospital for the intravenous antibiotic.
That was the worst experience I have ever received.  I have had three week long stays at Umass on Lake Ave, and never had a problem with my care.  Dr. D. Polan was the worst doctor I have had.

    Costco Pharmacy
We love them. They are wonderful. We don't have to wait in line and they pay a lot of personalized attention to people. They know us by name. They are not as busy as another pharmacy so it is easier to deal with them. They will call at home if there are any problems with prescriptions. The cost is the same but we get much more service. They pay a lot of attention to drug interactions. The insurance covers the price. The customer service is excellent. They call when stuff is ready so I have prescriptions ready now.

Dr. Dey seems very nice, intelligent, and willing to help with my medical concerns. I have only visited her once so far, but no complaints. I had to wait about 1 month for a new patient appointment - this was rather long to me, and therefore I gave availability a "B" above. My appointment was for 2PM - I was not seen until about 2:10; not bad, but not excellent either (another "B"). I recommend Dr. Dey for a general PCP based on my first experience with her.
