  • Dan from Catamount located the source of the problem in under 15 minutes, helped us figure out how to fix it, and didn't charge us for needless remediation. These guys are awesome and I would hire them again in a heart-beat. Honest and very knowledgeable.

  • Owner provided an estimate to fix the water issue, but said he wasn't confident that the work would fix the problem. Felt like he should've been more assertive in proposing solutions that would address the issue. Ended up wasting both of our time.

  • They were punctual, professional and fairly priced. Matt and his crew do a great job regardless of lead time, ease of site access or difficult product identification and application. They are a top notch crew.

  • Santiago provided an estimate within a few days of contact and gave me a projected time frame for the work. The work was started and completed on time and within budget. He and his crew were very neat, clean and professional. They went above and beyond what was expected of them, and did it very cheerfully. I would hire them again without a moment's hesitation!

  • Had to call several times, he did finally come several weeks after initial contact. This was understandable since my job was not an emergency. He quoted me a price of ~$450 which seemed a bit pricey but others on Angie's list stated that his work was good but a bit pricey. I went with him and regret that I did. He started charging for labor from the time he left his house (to get to my house, ~45 min tops, arrived at my house ~10am - he called and said he had an emergency project and would be a little late, yet charged me 2 hours for the drive to my house) He started work at 10am, took 30 min for lunch, got done at 2:30PM. In the end, actual labor was 4 hours tops, he charged 7 hours total labor ($100/hr) and $75 for parts. I am willing to pay a fair price for his efforts but this was price gouging at its best. When I asked him how can labor be 7 hours when he only worked 4 hours, he replied that he charges from the time he left his house and that it would take additional time to dispose of the old sink. When I pointed out that it only takes 45 min at most (30 min typically) to get to my house from where he lives, he replied well I left at 8AM (?why should I have to pay for his stop at another house for "emergency work" before coming to my house, did he charge the other person 2hours for "travel time" as well" His work was competent but his business practices have a lot to be desired. I would not recommend him to those who have relatively simple plumbing projects done at a reasonable price.

  • James Hansen is the best carpenter and contractor I have ever hired.  Over the ten years I've known him, he has fixed many things in my house - dry wall rot, water damage on porch roof, damage caused by dogs, and more.  This past summer, we hired him to do a much bigger job - to renovate a downstairs bathroom to make it wheel-chair accessible.  James had excellent ideas, was very patient when we changed our minds, and his work was impeccable.  Our newly renovated bathroom, kitchen pantry and laundry room are gorgeous and stylish thanks to him.
If you want to do quality home renovation work, I highly recommend James Hansen of Berkshire Carpentry.  His workmanship is excellent and you will not be disappointed.

  • After reviewing the work, the contractor notified me that the scope of work was greater than one day. We agreed that he would send me a quote for the whole job and the timeline to start and complete. Contractor contacted me two days later via phone to let me know he couldn't do the job because it was more than one day's work he was already too much other work scheduled.

  • They are good on minor plumbing. They are one of these people who charge you an hour to start with. They've been around a long time. They have one guy who does minor plumbing stuff who we are familiar with him. He has a kind of good bedside manner. They have staff on some other stuff. It's still a good firm. Make sure you have somebody on the staff that is familiar with your equipment. They are mainstream here on price. They are not cheap but they are not out of the ballpark. What was done was fine. It was good quality and it was excellent. They were responsive and punctual.

  • They say the proof is in the pudding.
We used WTPI and we had a good heating season.
My first impression was favorable,  but I then encountered pricing and communications problems.
I believe WTPI is competent and I wish the proprietor good luck.
However, since he never provided a promised written estimate for further work he recommended,
we would find difficulty using him again.

  • Ashley Swift repaired my natural gas boiler that was not starting. They replaced the thermal coupler, and had it running again within an hour.
I called on a Saturday, and they called me back within 15 minutes of my calling them, and came right away.
