    Spartan Bobcat And Concrete Services
Dont use these guys. You will regret it. They do shoddy work and wont show back up to repair the lousy work theyve done. Owner (Matt Thouin) wont return calls. But when he is trying to get your work hell tell you anything. Beware!

    Spartan Bobcat And Concrete Services
This is a follow up to our earlier review. We took spartan Concrete, spartan bobcat and concrete, or whatever name Matthew Thouin is using for his stamped concrete business to court and won our case. Matthew Thouin has not paid the judgement ordered by the court. We continue to attempt to collect our judgement ordered by the court.

    Boylan Overhead Door
I am very pleased with the work done. Sean and his assistant arrived on time at 9:00 and were finished by 3:30. I now have two insulated metal doors with openers. The openers came with keypad and remotes, and battery backup. They installed weather stripping around the door openings. The guys were very professional, friendly and worked well together. They went over the operation of the keypad and remotes with me. They removed all the old hardware and trash. The true test will be this winter when the temp goes down to zero.

Worst most unprofessional company to work with and most terrible job ever! The pitch of the sidewalk was directed toward the stairs leaving a huge puddle at the bottom of the stairs. When I finally got Spartan/Matt to come remedy the situation the repair work was even worse. No attempt was even made to match the existing rock pattern, the pitch was still incorrect, the step is 5" on one side and 6" on the other, my yard was dug up with tractor tracks, they even ruined my own hose and sprayer, got concrete on my newly painted front door! Matt Thioun who was the representative I was dealing with would say one thing and had little to no follow through. He had difficulty with the truth on many occasions. Please use another company, I would hate for anyone else to go through what I did. UPDATE: Yes, after the third and most horrible failed attempt to fix the botched job my husband and I decided to not let Matthew and his workers back onto our property because every time they came onto our property something else on our home got broken. i.e. the doors got concrete all over them, the front lawn now has tractor marks across it, our siding now has concrete on it forever. It felt like three times was plenty to give his company Spartan Bobcat and Concrete, Inc/Spartan Concrete Inc to first do the job, and second and third repair the job. I did absolutely tell Matthew to not return to the job site. the job was so awful, there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not sure why he is acting surprised that at that point I requested a refund? Matthew Thouin brought up going in front of a "clerk magistrate" months earlier when he was screaming at me about the top of the landing stain. He brought up legal action early in our working relationship, like a hothead that he is, which was in complete disagreement with our contract. Matthew Thouin basically makes up his own rules, contracts, laws, oh, here's a good one, I live on a dead end street and one Monday morning he double parked his own truck next to his workers truck and blocked all my neighbors into the end of the street so NOONE could get out to get to work at 7:45!!!! OMG they were livid. AND Matthew was actually put out that he had to move his truck! Please read the other reviews. Two other reviews say that they did not get what they were promised by the appraiser until they CAUGHT SPARTAN in the act and had to BABYSIT SpARTAN CONCRETE INC. to be sure they got what they were promised. This is known as Bait and Switch! It has not happened to three of us! Stop the madness!

    Driveway Doctors
The crew showed up within the projected time, introduced themselves, then began work. "David" explained how they would perform the work, as we struck up a casual conversation. The guys did the prep work and then started to squeegee a layer of Tarconite brand w/sand rubberized sealer. My 1300 square foot driveway now looks good and I expect this seal job to last between 3-5 years. Our southern New England weather is tough on driveways, so I thought it best to keep up with the maintenance.

    Louis Pallotta Paving
Vinnie Pallotta is as nice a guy as I have met in my life. The work these guys performed is top-tier without a doubt, and Vinnie is right there working with the crew which was awesome to see. If you're in the market for a driveway this is where your search for a contractor should end.

    GMH Fence Co
10 out of 10 from the estimate to the work completion. Everyone was easy to communicate with and the work crew was here on time and displayed great workmanship. They were quick, precise and extremely friendly. In the future when we add more fencing there will be no other company I call.

    2 Guys With Tools
Very polite and informative. Showed me everything he was doing and why he was doing it. Said I didn't need to call him unless I had a problem. He said if I oiled the door once a year it would be fine. Kept asking me if I had any questions. Robert is a very nice guy. He also showed me what to do if I lose power and have to open the door manually. Very Helpful. I would definitely recommend him.

    Real Dry Waterproofing - Holyoke
This is a family business, and I worked with Steve.  I left a message with the office and Steve called back the next day.  We set up an appointment for the following day, which was a Saturday.  The basement floor of the sunroom addition is a step down from the rest of the basement.  It was always dry before the two hurricanes (Irene and Sandy) but it flooded during the storms, and this year even with normal rain it has been flooding. Steve looked at the problem and said he would need to trench the perimiter of the floor, put in drain pipe and a sump, then repair the floor.  There was built-in wooden shelving against the wall that Steve said had to be removed, which is work he would not normally do.  He gave me a firm price for the waterproofing and took a guess at the shelving. On that Monday he called back and said he had a carpenter friend who owed him a favor, and he gave me a firm price for the shelving - a price to remove it (only $150) and a price to replace it (also only $150).
I scheduled the work for about a month later.  The crew showed up on time, got started in the basement and very quickly called me at work.  When he did the estimate Steve had not noticed the insulation and stud wall behind the shelving, and it needed to come out too.  I told him to just go ahead and tear it out and not to worry about replacing it because I figured it was probably moldy and rotten (it was).  Steve honored the $150 price quote he gave me, even though the studding was a lot more work - like three hours more work for four guys.  He just charged the price he had quoted for shelf removal and did not charge the replacement price - peanuts for all the work it took.
Then, once the walls were bare they installed the sump, and discovered there was already drain pipe under the slab.  Steve called me again, told me about the drain pipe, said there was probably a 50-50 chance the system would work with the existing pipe.  At that point if I had let him just use the existing pipe I would have saved a bunch of money and Steve would have lost a ton on the job, but he told me he would not be able to sleep at night without giving me all the facts and letting it be my decision.  I told him to go ahead and do the whole job as planned, which was the right decision because once they did the trenching and pulled out the old pipe they found it was totally clogged, and I would have lost the 50-50 bet.
If you need waterproofing work do not hesitate to give these guys a call.  They are professional, polite, they bust their behind, and most of all they are extremely honest.  I recommend them highly.

    Premier Garage Door Service
Everything went beautifully. Paul is a meticulous detail person, easy to deal with and an excellent communicator. The 3 garage doors had received very little maintenance since 1992 and were badly in need of major repairs, including new openers; exterior key pad; hardware replacement; and removal/replacement of old rubber seal from the bottom of each garage door where it touches the ground. Our old openers were not up to code and a safety hazard. Everything provided and installed by Paul works like a charm and our 3 garage doors are now fully up to code. Paul Longo is one of the top 3 contractors we, as homeowners for many years, have ever dealt with. We recommend him most highly and without hesitation.
