    COLUMBUS DRY CLEANERS
    They are by far the best cleaners in the Boston area.  I have taken very expensive clothes to them and have always received them back perfect. My husband is very picky with his laundered shirts, and he is very happy with their service.  Also, we have never had anything misplaced or lost. I also love that they have same day service, so when we need something in a rush, they easily accommodate us. They are friendly, professional and very accommodating.

    Dry Cleaning By Dorothy
    Prior to this incident I had used Dorothy's for dry cleaning numerous times and never had a problem. On March 14, I dropped off three Coach handbags for cleaning. Upon pickup March 23, one bag was fine, one was damaged, and one was ruined. The attendant charged my debit card prior to bringing the items to the counter. Once the bags were presented, I saw the damage and questioned the condition. Bag 2 has a patent leather zipper pull. The zipper pull had some cracks in it when it was dropped it off, normal wear and tear from daily use. On pick up the bag the zipper pull was in much worse condition, the patent leather shredded and peeling away, exposing threads and fabric. It looks terrible and has lost functionality.
      The third bag had been barely used prior to being dropped off. The only problem with it was discoloration in the baby
    blue suede on the bottom of the bag. After the cleaning, the suede is gray, not baby blue.  The  leather handle is badly damaged. It appears as if it were scrubbed with a Brillo pad, removing the baby blue color and leaving random patches of beige leather.   The leather edges on the tabs securing the handle rings are ripped and peeling off. This bag is unusable. This was a barely used $300+ Coach bag, completely ruined.
      These concerns were brought to the attention the attendants, they stated that only the owner could issue a refund. The attendants stated repeatedly that the bags are hand cleaned. They offered to keep the bags and clean them again. This was not ideal given that the bags were damaged while being cleaned. The attendants stated that the owner would be back in 1-1.5 hours. We returned to the store 2.5 hours later and were told the owner had "just left 2 minutes ago." We asked that the owner call us as soon as possible. This never happened.
       We spoke with the owner regarding these concerns on March 24, he was defensive and dismissive of our concerns. He stated that the bags were cleaned by a machine, contradictory to the attendants repeatedly stating that the bags are hand cleaned.  He offered a store credit or to clean the bags again. Again, the issue is not about the cleaning, it is the damage that was done. The bottom line is the bags are in worse condition after being cleaned by "DryCleaning by Dorothy" and nothing has been done to rectify this. The mydorothys.com website claims "Our guarantee is the strongest in the industry... It's Ready, It's Right or It's Free!"  The handbags were ready, they were not right, and they were not free. At this point we were charged $60 to have our items returned to us in worse condition.
      We contacted the owner via email, complete with pictures of the damage, reiterating our concerns and hoping for resolution. He  maintained that the bags were damaged when received by Dorothy's. This simply isn't true. The third bag was in near perfect condition when dropped off. We were again offered a credit. What good is a credit to a business I will never use again? Not were items damaged, the owner's failure to provide a reasonable solution is an example of subpar customer service.

    DEPENDABLE CLEANERS
    They are expensive but they are convenient. The reason I stopped using them was after one bad experience. I used the the Weymouth store (on 3A) to hem some pants. When I went to pick them up they couldn't find one pair. I was told they would call me and never did. I emailed corporate office and finally the store called me back, promised to locate my pants and call me and never did. Finally, after one week, they contacted me to say they found the missing pants. When I went to pick them up, I would have expected they would have given them to me without charging me considering they lost the pants and the customer service was so poor. Instead, they discounted the service by 10%. This was not a remarkable discount by any stretch but considering I had a preferred customer coupon in my car for a 20% discount the 10% seemed like they were saying they didn't care. The second time I wore the pants,the hem came out and I had to pay someone else to rehem the pants properly. I stopped using dependable and started using a local dry cleaner where I get great service for much less money.

    They were younger people. They know how to cut hair but they didn't seem to have that experience behind them. They are too young to have that solid experience. They did okay, they didn't do spectacular, but it was okay. I was satisfied. They were friendly. They asked questions like how I want it. There might have been four or five cutters there. It was in a little strip mall there.

    If he's fully booked you may have to wait.  He knows exactly the way I want it.  I have been going there for years.  He has his own styling place now, but he used to work for another guy.  I used to go to him when he worked for another guy.  He left there and opened up his own shop.  I have been going to him for years so he knows exactly how I want my hair done.  He's excellent.  Kids can go there and the other chair there is a woman that cuts hair.  I guess women can go there, but if I was a woman I wouldn't pick that place.  I think they do mostly men and kids.

    All the stylists really listen to you and they know what they are doing. It is not a fancy shop but its top notch service at a very  reasonable price. I have sent a bunch of friends to the Studio and they have all been very happy with the services. Studio Hair design is a "hidden gem in Weymouth". Its best to call ahead to make an appointment.

    I decided to take a cruise over the holidays and wanted to be able to ballroom dance respectably. I had never learned ballroom dance so definitately needed the instruction. I twelve took private lessons with the co-owner, John Paul. I am now very spoiled!! Nothing like learning to dance with someone who REALLY knows how!! John taught me waltz, tango, chacha, rumba, foxtrot, and swing. I went on my cruise, but was still such a beginner. I knew I would have to return to lessons and learn over a longer period of time - especially if I wanted to have fun dancing and be able to dance well even if my dance partner could not. Even though private lessons got me off to a good start, the lessons I now take are very thorough.
    DanceSport Boston knows how to teach. They take you slowly through all the steps with and without music, and they pay special attention to those who need a little (or, a lot) extra help. They love the dance and can pass that enthusiasm on to the learner - male or female! Males have a bit more to learn as they lead the dance. I have watched John, and his wife, Anne Marie, carefully and patiently help men learn the little things they need to know to in order to lead successfully.
    I am still learning, and loving every minute of it!

    I have been going to them for years and their hair colorist is fabulous. She is really well known for doing a good job and she uses Aveda products; they are all natural. She always does the right color I want and they cut my hair the way I like it. My stylist always makes suggestions and is always great. If I ask for her opinion on something she always is great about that. The price is very good.
