    Alo Seamless Gutters
We had an issue where our existing gutters were allowing rain to get behind them. In addition, we had some minor repairs that needed to be done. The team from Alo was prompt to provide a quote and explain how all the issues needed to be resolved. We also asked that a new length of gutter be installed along one side of our house. The crew showed up on time, examined the job, and detailed the plan of action. The work was then done and shown to us for inspection. Everything was done perfectly and professional, and the site was left cleaner than it was when they arrived. Everyone on the crew was amazing and nice and professional. Everything you could ask for. Oh, and the price was very fair.

I was quite pleased with he work - the new gutters look great. The crew came on the scheduled date and were finished by early afternoon. They were very professional: they removed and carried away the old gutters, saved the gutter guards as I asked them to, and cleaned up nicely after the job (removing the old gutters was a messy job!). The only slight glitch was in actually getting a quote from the company. They originally came out in late November, took measurements and said they would send me quote. I didn't hear back for about two weeks, so called them again -- they said they would try to find the original measurement information and send me a quote. Still didn't hear back. By now we're into the winter, and since we weren't going to have the work done until spring anyway, I let it drop until after we got back from vacation in February. This time we finally connected and someone came out to remeasure the house. I received the quote a couple of days later. It was very professional and detailed (much more so than those from the other three companies that quoted the job for me). I truly believe the communication mixup was a freakish "fell between the cracks" problem that was not indicative of their normal process. I would definitely recommend them.

It went great. Took Joe and his crew about 5 hours total to finish the job. The gutters went up very quickly and quietly. No mess, no fuss. Joe also is referring us to another specialist to help with a roof issue we are experiencing that is not related to the gutters. We couldn't be more pleased. You should probably call him.

I didn't like little things here and there, things not being completely flushed and not paying attention to detail. The communication was pretty quick, sometimes a little confusing. They did a good job with the yard cleanup.

This was the best experience we have ever had with a builder/carpenter. Joe Wink gave us a quote. He spoke to us about our options. He told us he was busy and when he would be able to work on our project. We accepted the quote and he came with his 3 men to the job on time every morning. He and his crew are positive people and worked great together to get the job done. I wanted to make some changes on how I was hoping the dormers could look. Joe took out a piece of paper and gave me design options. It was unbelievable. I made a decision and Joe changed direction for me without hesitation. The dormers, the deck, and the doors look amazing. When the job was finished I asked Joe for what I owed and it was exactly what he quoted me. If you get to work with he and his crew you will be glad you did. *****We had 3 huge hornets nests that he and his crew had to deal with...they took care of them so that they could work safely...I cant say enough good things....great experience.*****

    Boston Roofing And Gutters LLC
I ordered the service via Angie's List.  I got a confirmation e-mail from Chris from Boston Gutters stating that they received our information and order, and to call them at our convenience to schedule the appointment.  I called, spoke to Chris, and once he saw the address he said he couldn't get anyone out for a long time.  Then he asked if I was just getting the service or wanted new work.  I said I also wanted a quote for new gutters (new installation) for a section that didn't have gutters. He waffled for a while, told me he did have a job even farther away (1 hr) than my town (48 min away), but finally said, "It's not worth a hundred bucks to go out there."  I asked him if he really wasn't going to honor his agreement for the service after I already paid and received an e-mail from him to schedule it.  But he said that's an automated e-mail from Angie's List and that I should take it up with them to get a refund.  I would say that the advertised price was fair, but considering I spent time on this and never received anything other than added work to try to get a refund, it's no value at all to do business with Boston Gutters.  STAY AWAY!

This also makes me question how much vetting Angie's List really does for these vendors.  I got this targeted advertisement at least 4 times before finally responding, and this was the result.

Chris came the same day that I contacted him as he had a job in the area.  He was friendly and the repair came out great.  You can tell that Chris cares about the quality of the work and enjoys what he does.  I would definitely call him again for my next job.

    The Siding Guy

While we received several estimates from other Angie?s List A-rated contractors, from the moment we initially met Joe, there was a sense that he was the only person we wanted to handle our remodeling effort. Joe listened to our desires and offered suggestions on ways to proceed, but he always stayed focused on our vision. Several days after our initial meeting, Joe called to say he had worked up the estimate, and asked for a convenient time to come over and discuss his proposal. Joe willingly met us on a Sunday morning and sat with us for over 90 minutes, discussing his recommended approach and answering our questions.

After we received all of our estimates from the other contractors we contacted, we decided that while Joe?s estimate was not the lowest, the confidence and trust we had in him was worth paying a little more to get the expectations of having the job done correctly the first time.

Initially Joe planned to do the work during the winter and since it was vinyl siding, there was no issue with doing the installation in the off-season. Unfortunately, this past winter was so extreme, the job ended up being delayed until the end of March. Joe however kept in contact with us and advised us of the date and time he would arrive to start the job. Joe said he would arrive at 7:00 AM to start the job, and at 6:59, his truck pulled up outside the house. Punctuality is a priority with Joe, and he was never late to any meetings we had scheduled with him.

On the day the job started, Joe introduced us to his entire crew, Ricky, Chris, Casey, and Paul, and detailed how they were going to proceed. Joe?s crew was exceptional to deal with. They were punctual, polite and very respectful of our property. We always felt we could ask them a question whether Joe was on-site at the time or not. They were always willing to explain why something was being done and demonstrate how a particular detail would be handled. They are very knowledgeable , professional, and conscientious, making them  excellent representatives for Joe?s company. To illustrate the professionalism of Joe?s crew, this one night they were working late, due to forecasted rain for the next morning. They informed us that they were leaving around 7:00 PM, and the crew departed. About 30 minutes later, I saw the truck pull up in front of the house. Thinking they forgot something, I went outside to see if everything was all right. They realized that they hadn?t replaced the downspouts on the gutter?s, and with the forecast of heavy rain overnight, they returned to attach the downspouts to prevent any damage to the house from the rain. This dedication that Joe?s crew displays is evident in the level of detail they put into their work. The siding and trim looks excellent, and they are exceptionally neat, thoroughly cleaning up the area every night before they leave.

In our dealings with Joe while the job was underway, the first thing Joe would ask whenever he saw us was ?Is everything going as you thought it would?? His focus on ensuring that they were doing what we expected reassured us that we had made the correct decision to hire The Siding Guy. When they uncovered an issue due to the roof being improperly flashed when it was installed several years prior, Joe called, described the issue and presented a proposed fix and the additional cost to correct the issue. He always kept us informed of what was being done to the house at all times, and both Joe and his crew would always knock on the door and inform us that they were leaving for the night.

Joe and his crew will be returning to our house in the future to replace our deck and stairs. We?re not even going to waste our time getting other estimates, we?re simply going to call The Siding Guy.

Emailed on Monday night after realizing I had a leak.  Joe responded that night and said he was available on Wednesday.  The 7 other people I emailed didn't even respond.  Points for promptness and responsiveness.
Through email communications, Joe mentioned he would be here roughly around noon, but didn't "commit".  At noon, I texted Joe and he said they would be here around 2 or 2:30.  They showed up at 2:45.  (Reasonable, because I can imagine how many people need this service after receiving 5 feet of snow in the past 2 weeks.)
I inquired how they remove the ice, since experts on the internet say that steam and hot water are the best ways to remove ice without damaging the roof.  Joe mentioned that his crew uses pick axes, shovels and roof rakes to remove the snow. I wasn't 100% thrilled, but my choices were limited, and my roof was leaking fast.  Remember 7 other companies didn't even call back.
4 men showed up and proceeded to climb up the house and start shoveling the snow off. These guys have nerves of steel, shoveling the roof, ice picking the dams that they are stepping on.  I was told that these guys were roofers in the summer, so they know how to handle the picks without damaging the roof.  The roof and ice dams were cleared in 2.5 hours.  While the gutter area isn't bare to the shingle, the huge ice dams are off the roof along with all of the nylons that I put up there (salt filled nylons).  Hopefully the sun will melt all of it off so i get a clean roof.   I have bowling ball sized chunks of ice on the ground in front of my house.  Most importantly, the 2 dams that were causing the water to leak into my house are gone.
Pricing wasn't established until the crew showed up, and it was reasonable considering the amount of damage this service is preventing.  I already have a wet carpet as water was leaking through the wall into the upstairs floor.  Our house is a 2200 sq ft colonial with a hip roof (pyramid shaped).  It would have been cheaper if I didn't have them shovel the snow off the roof, but there was a good 3 feet of snow, and I was worried about collapse with the freezing rain coming up.
The crew cleaned up the front walkway, but left huge chunks of ice on the back porch.  Not a huge deal for me.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the service because it was so prompt.  Communication with Joe was very short, and I felt like I had to extract info from him, but I can totally understand that his company is busy.  I believe they do 4 houses a day.

It was unbelievable. The crew was quiet, respectful. They were very neat. They cleaned up after themselves every single day. It was a pure pleasure to have these guys working in my house. They were above and beyond any contractors I had in terms of not only the quality but the professionalism they showed.
