Don and his crew were a pleasure to work with and stuck to timelines and managed to budget. We made additional (scope) requests and Don gave us the information with regards to time and cost that we needed to make decisions. We would hire Don again for future work.

Excellent. Don was the best contractor we interviewed and worked with in 25 years of home projects in New England. He was professional, personable, very easy to work with. He communicates very well and clearly what he plans to do, updates along the way, if any issue arise, and gives very helpful and skilled recommendations for solving issues or improving design. Quality of work was exceptional. Very detailed for finish work. He also works very fast and efficiently. He was on time or ahead of schedule for most of the projects. He was on or under budget as well for two large projects which was very impressive. I absolutely will choose Handyman911 first for my next project.

Here's why I cannot recommend JPWorks or its owner, Jonathan Worthley. After I contacted Jon, it took a long time for him to come take a look at my house to assess the needed repairs. He said he couldn't look at the outside of the house because there was snow on the ground, but he promised to send me quotes for the two replacement windows he could see were needed. Weeks went by. I had to bug him for the quote, and finally got it. After the snow melted, he and his team took a quick look at the outside of the house and quoted me a ballpark price for the repairs. I agreed, but no time frame or detailed estimate was forthcoming. More weeks went by. I emailed to ask if he was still interested in the work. His excuse for not providing an estimate was that they couldn't really see the extent of the damage so were not able to prepare the estimate. Next he proposed that I hire his team for an entire day to remove clapboards so the damage could be assessed, then reclose the outside of the house. I would pay for the labor plus any materials. I agreed to this. Eventually, two of his workers showed up, spent no longer than 30 minutes looking at the outside of the house, did not remove or replace any clapboards, and left. After another month with no estimate or any contact from Jon, I again emailed him asking him if he wanted the work. He promised to come by today with an estimate. He is now an hour and a half late. He hasn't called either. I spent years making service calls to people's homes. My clients always told me how much they appreciated my arriving when I said I would and doing the work I promised to do. If I had behaved towards my clients the way Jon Worthley has behaved towards me, I would not have lasted in business even six weeks. It has now been six months that Jon has been promising an estimate for repairing my house. I feel that I have been treated with great disrespect. If Jon had said he was not interested in doing the work, I would not have wasted that time waiting for him to do what he promised. I am done waiting for him and cannot recommend him or his company to anyone.

    O'Sullivan Installs, Inc.
The overall process went very well. When we sat down to select the door and go over the entire process it was handled very well. The selection of materials and styles from the vendors they use were very extensive so we had so much choice. They were able to exactly match the color and style to another exterior door so we maintained continuity overall. The day of the replacement went perfectly. The team showed up on time and proceeded to start the job immediately. They were professional the entire time and just stayed to business during the procedure. They finished in the time stated and cleaned up after so that you wouldn't have known it was ever done.

    Mr. Handyman of Central Middlesex
Brad came out to do the work on 3 interior doors that we needs hung and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. He had to scribe and bore holes and hinges on all 3 of them and he hung them all perfectly in just over 3.5 hours. I would absolutely recommend them/him for any type of interior finish work like this, thank you very much.

    The Siding Guy
This was the best experience we have ever had with a builder/carpenter. Joe Wink gave us a quote. He spoke to us about our options. He told us he was busy and when he would be able to work on our project. We accepted the quote and he came with his 3 men to the job on time every morning. He and his crew are positive people and worked great together to get the job done. I wanted to make some changes on how I was hoping the dormers could look. Joe took out a piece of paper and gave me design options. It was unbelievable. I made a decision and Joe changed direction for me without hesitation. The dormers, the deck, and the doors look amazing. When the job was finished I asked Joe for what I owed and it was exactly what he quoted me. If you get to work with he and his crew you will be glad you did. *****We had 3 huge hornets nests that he and his crew had to deal with...they took care of them so that they could work safely...I cant say enough good things....great experience.*****

Chris Burke - Painting and Carpentry
After weeks (yes weeks) of my emailing (through angie's list), I finally got a call from Chris Burke. We talked about replacing the door with the offer I purchased. In addition, I asked for an estimate on installing 2 doors where no door existed. He says "I don't give estimates, I give quotes. That way you know exactly how much it is." That was great however when the job was done I was charged an additional $85 over the "quote" because "studs had to be removed"!?!  This wasn't mentioned during the job, just the surprise at the end when given the bill. To make matters worse, my wood floors were scratched, nail holes left unfilled, dust and particles left on floor. This bothered me especially because the doors were installed in my children's bedrooms and because I have pets. When I mentioned my displeasure of the $85 upcharge, Chris Burke's response was a lengthy text message about "uncle sams cut", the home improvement store's cut, etc. I never did get the "quote" for fence repair. Overall, I wasn't happy with this experience at all.

    C & D GLASS CO., Inc

Whatever you do, please do not buy a glass shower door from this company.  I bought one and received little if any guidance from the people at C&D (and to be fair not the best guidance from the private contractor that was going to install it). The door didn't fit, C&D and the manufacturer didn't really seem to care too much so i then had to pay for two more pieces of glass another $1200 (they did credit the hardware).  C&D then came out to measure.  At this point I felt that even though I had to pay for another glass enclosure and installation (another $500) I would at least have a nice final product/installation.  The measurement that was done was mediocre at best.  After all was said and done the installer cracked my glass tile (probably due to not using the correct drill bit and/or not keeping the tile wet while drilling).  The door is not level and there are gaps on the side of the door that allow water to escape when showering.  Checking with other companies most installers use a laser to measure to ensure a tight fit.  After voicing my concern about the final installation i was told that it was due to the fact that walls were not square.....  I have done quite a bit of work to a couple of houses of mine and can't remember the last time I came across a level or perfectly square wall.  In all fairness i can't talk about their other services but I would stay away if looking for a shower enclosure.

Jeff Veglia Remodeling & Tile Contracting
We had remodeled our Master Bathroom about 11 years earlier with a company that had a very good reputation, but the quality of the workmanship, particularly the tile installation resulted in our need to redo the Master Bathroom much earlier than we had ever expected. As a result of this experience, we were determined to find a contractor that would do the job
correctly the first time and stand behind his work.
We received several estimates from other Angie?s List A-rated contractors, but from the moment we initially met Jeff, there was a sense that he was the only person we wanted to handle our remodeling effort. Jeff listened to our desires and offered suggestions on ways to proceed, but he always stayed focused on our vision. Within several days of meeting with Jeff, we had a
detailed proposal on the scope of work for the bathroom remodel and a breakdown of the cost for the work.
After we received all of our estimates from the other contractors we contacted, we decided that while Jeff?s estimate was not the lowest, the confidence and trust we had in him was worth paying a little more for the expectations of having the job done correctly the first time.
We talked with Jeff about his recommended suppliers and made appointments to meet with the individuals to begin preparation for the remodel. We contacted Gary Cedrone to select our fixtures for the bathroom. Gary had an in-depth knowledge of the products and guided us in the selection of quality fixtures. Gary?s recommendations were much appreciated as he pointed out options between various brands, and helped guide us in selecting fixtures that met our needs, but in many cases were not
the highest priced brand. His knowledge of the products made our selection of the fixtures an easy task and we are very happy with the choices we made. To further our appreciation of dealing with Gary, when the plumber was doing the initial rough in, he realized that the wrong shower valve had been delivered. Mick the plumber contacted Gary and within an hour, a courier delivered the proper part and Mick was able to quickly finish his task. We also visited Steve and Charlie to select the material for the countertop and bench in the shower. Both were very knowledgeable about the countertop options and helped us select a quartz product that would complement the tile and vanity we selected. The installed countertop looks great in the bathroom.
On the day that the remodel was to begin, Jeff told us that John and Danny would arrive at the house about 7:30 in the morning to begin the demo effort. Both men arrived right on time and spent some time detailing how they were going to proceed with the demo. They installed carpet protector over the stairs and drop cloths over the hardwood floors. When we arrived home that night, the majority of the bathroom was demo?d and the area was meticulously cleaned. They arrived the following day to complete the demo effort and had the bathroom down to the studs an less than two days.
Jeff?s electrician Gary, and plumbers Tony and Mick, arrived the following day to begin the electrical and plumbing rough-in. It was quite evident that both the electrician and the plumber have worked together in the past. Both teams were very easy to work with, both asking our desires for placement of switches, lights and shower valve and shower head. They both made recommendations based on their experience and suffice it to say, we are extremely happy with the results.
Based on our negative experience 11 years prior with the tiling, we were very focused on the installation of the tile for this remodel. We spent approximately $5000.00 for the tile for this job, and we wanted to ensure that the tile was professionally installed. Jeff?s tile installer Franco and his assistant Adrian arrived to install the tile. Franco immediately measured the area and inventoried the tile we had purchased. He asked if we would like him to design the layout, which we immediately agreed to. Franco spent close to an hour laying out a design that would flow from the wainscoting on the outside walls into the shower stall. The end result is a beautiful design which compliments the tile and the selected fixtures. Franco?s expertise in tile is
evident in the exceptional installation of the tile. All grout lines are straight and evenly spaced, and each piece of tile is level with the next piece. We can find no flaws in the tile installation. As Franco told us, he has a passion for tile which is evident in the quality of his work. He is an artist!
Jeff?s plasterer Nick plastered the walls and ceilings, leaving a finished result that was perfectly smooth. I couldn?t find a flaw in the finish coat. The walls and ceiling look great!
Once the plastering and painting was completed, we contacted Jeff?s shower door contractor Barry, to select and install a full glass shower door. Barry was very knowledgeable about the glass products and advised us as we selected the door and glass panel. The door was professionally installed and looks and works great.
Overall, we could not be happier with our selection of Jeff and his crew to remodel the bathroom. While we had to wait to get on his schedule, the wait was worth it. Whether we were talking to Jeff or one of the members of his crew, all our questions were answered quickly and courteously. Every member of Jeff?s team was very professional, courteous and treated us and our house with respect. This is truly a group of professionals who take pride in the job they do.
Jeff and his crew will be returning to our house in the future to remodel our Main Bathroom. This time, we will only be calling Jeff Veglia to do the remodel!
