    Advance Therapeutics
I had neck stiffness for about a decade - annoying but not a big issue. During the summer I developed extreme pain in my right shoulder. My physician said the shoulder pain was likely related to the neck stiffness and that computer work and poor posture were putting me at risk of developing a chronic bulging cervical disk. After reducing the inflammation and pain with medication and bed rest for a couple of weeks, I started physical therapy (PT). I had been to other PT's for neck stiffness and other injuries in the past and have been thoroughly unimpressed with the attentiveness of therapists, techniques offered (beyond a couple of stretches, which can be effective, but don't require periodic visits to therapist), and overall results. I have also tried chiropracty, with mixed short-term results, but doesn't address underlying issues that caused pain. With this new level of pain and injury I asked around and received 2 very strong recommendations for Bob Myers at Advanced Therapeutics, and after seeing him for a series of sessions, I have to agree! Although he makes the sessions enjoyable, he is obviously very serious about his work, knowledgeable on a wide-range of issues/approaches, and very attentive and present during each session. In addition to effectively explaining the underlying issues, and providing a set of effective exercises/stretches to address them, Bob is an amazing and intuitive hands-on body worker. I often walked out of my sessions feeling like his adjustments had facilitated a major shift in my body that set up and allowed additional healing. I have two very minor criticisms (reflected in the and quot;Band quot; grades in the reviewand quot;)...first is his availability, but given that this is a result of his effectiveness, not really a criticism, just an inconvenience. Since I was not able to always schedule with Bob, I ended scheduling about 1/3 of my sessions with another therapist (Shannon). Although I was initially frustrated about this, since Bob had come so highly recommended, I think it ended up being a good thing. They have different strengths, perspectives and approaches, and I learned a lot from Shannon that I might not have understood as deeply if I'd just seen Bob. My second criticism is that Bob's approach sometimes seems a bit scattered. For example, he would mention that we should address a particular issue, or cover a particular topic in a future session, but then it wouldn't necessarily happen until he would start talking about the issue/topic as if we'd already covered it when we hadn't yet. Given that mine was a long-term injury with numerous contributing factors, and I also asked him about related issues that weren't central to the injury, there was a lot of ground to cover in a lot of different areas, so it's understandable that our sessions were scattered, but a more systematic approach may have helped make sure everything was being covered in an effective way. Of course, since you've read all this, you can just remind him about topics he mentioned from previous sessions. Overall, my experience with Bob and Shannon was very strong, and has given me a lot of hope for making lifelong improvements in body health.

    Lederer, Sue
She is thorough and patient. She really helps the client where they are at. She is outstanding across the board. I have been going to her 4 years and will continue to go to her.

    Mccarthy-Lenz, Dr. Justine
She works in 3 different offices and there are certain days of the week that you can get in. I would highly recommend her to any parent having a child with ADHD. She is very knowledgeable, straightforward, friendly and very conservative in her approach.

    McCormick, Dr. R. Keith
"Dr. Keith" is a great guy--he is always positive and encouraging. He says he never met an injury he couldn't fix. It was what my daughter, who struggled with this injury for a year now, needed to hear. He gets his hands on her and can feel just where the problem areas are. He explains everything, and spends all the time you need. Once we went with a pulled stomach muscle, just seeing if he could help, and after sticking his fingers DEEP into her belly, he declared it was her psoaz muscle, gave her an exercise, and she was actually better in 2 days. I was never a believer in chiropractic, but he''s changed that. (I've now gone myself and my husband--who hasn't seen a doctor in 10 years--is seeing him.) When my daughter was having a rough time last month, Hampshire Ortopedics suggested nuclear medicine after barely touching her. The doctor said she didn't feel any swelling and all the other practiioners were wrong. We then went to him, and he gave her an adjustment (I could hear it) and massaged the tight muscles. We went 3 times in 10 days, and by the last time, there was nothing to adjust. The muscles had loosened and her back was moving again--and no radioactive fluids in her veins. He always just knows. Also, Keith is an athlete (went to the Olympics) and he understands the mentality. If that's what you need, 'nough said. As far as his office, hours, etc...The people who work there are all great. Helpful, friendly, and nice to talk with while you are waiting. Plus, it smells great in there. :-) I've never had a negative experience, and we've been at least a dozen times now. Dr. Keith rocks!

    FAULKNER, KATE
Kate came highly recommended. She is a true professional and brings a lot of diverse experience to her work - this includes a background in dance, biomechanics, Pilates and massage therapy. She incorporated most of these elements in the therapy she provided me for my shoulder. I felt like I was heard and valued and that the exercise regime and treatments she gave me were very individualized. This is contrast to other physical therapy experiences I have had at large practices, in which one feels like they are on a factory line with a hundred other patients getting therapy. Kate is also part of the Movement Resource.

    Holyoke Health Care Center
Overall, they went out of there way to insure that she was comfortable and cared for in every way. She was making progress initially and we felt there was an outside chance that she would be able to return home. Unfortunately other underlying health issues caused her to deteriorate fairly rapidly and Mom passed away on 5/4/09. Holyoke Health did everything they could for both Mom and family members as her health rapidly went downhill.

    Prinzivalli, John L.
John Prinzivalli is very good. The only problem is that he throws exercises at you like rice at a wedding. In the end you have to find out what's working best. I had something of a crisis and John had me come in after hours, just before a three-day weekend. What a comparison to the frequent experience of a recording "if this is an emergency call 911".

and quot;Magic Boband quot; did a lot of great hands-on stuff, but most importantly encouraged me to build up my core muscles. This was 3 years ago - problem solved. I had to see someone else when we changed insurance policies, I would never have done so otherwise.

    Advance Therapeutics
They provide quality service. They do what is most up to date in terms of treatment. If you are already a client they will try to fit you in if they can; but if you are not it is hard to get in to see them because they are so busy. I will use them again in the future.

They do a lot of things and that includes treatment of orthopedic and neurological conditions. I have been seeing him for a back problem that was really so bad that I could not get around much. He is already straightening me out and I don’t know how he does it when no one else has done it. He is very advanced and holistic and I don’t know how he did it, but I am standing up straighter. You will hear about him because he is the best. He deals with the whole body and is a lot of fun too. He has a very positive attitude and just happens to be brilliant in curing and this is my experience. He has other people in his practice, but everyone wants him. Sometimes I have to wait for an appointment and they call me if there is a cancellation because I want to see him because I feel that he does miracles. The availability is not his fault, but they usually get me in when I need to.
