  • We had an A+ experience in dealing with Commonwealth! Kyle was super helpful when I first arrived at the showroom to look at fireplace screen options. And what a showroom! There were so many screen designs, finishes, and handles from which to choose. Kyle again assisted my husband when he returned to confirm the screen choice I had made with Kyle's knowledgable assistance. Bruce, the owner, came to my house to take the measurements. He was both hospitable and detail-oriented during his visit. And finally, Michael, who has 12 years of installation experience, was superb. He pointed out a problem in aligning the screen, and then made amends so that it was not only safe, but looked great. While the screen was expensive, the beautiful custom look we now have was definitely worth the investment. Our only regret is that we did not replace our fireplace screen sooner! We would definitely hire Commonwealth again.

  • Excellent. Robb was responsive to my questions. He was reachable by mobile phone and took calls from everywhere (I had a lot of questions!). He was very patient. I could tell he was working very hard trying to service and install clients for the holiday season. Robb committed to an installation window of one week and met his commitment...when other places refused to even estimate a date of installation due to the busy season. One place told me to call his installer if I wanted a specific date…but not to and quot;doubleand quot; what I would be told. Robb is an owner-operator. He owns the business and personally installs his product. He had the wrong surround with him when he came to install our fireplace. He offered to return the following week. Since it was the busy season, I suggested he return when things slowed down a bit. We had a working fireplace so we were happy. Sure enough, after the holiday season and related rush slowed down a bit, Robb called me to say he'd be by with the surround we ordered. He replaced the surround, inspected my log arrangement one last time. He took great care during the initial installation to explain the features of my fireplace. He reminded me of a few things when he returned. He is wonderful to work with.
    P.S. He has a lovely showroom in Sudbury. It's not a giant showroom but it is lovely and feels like a home…you get a very good sense of what your fireplace will be like!

  • First log was DOA (manufacturer fault, not Commonwealth's).  They tried to fix it but had to order a replacement -- which they did promptly once they realized a new log set was needed. 
    Very good experience with Commonwealth consultant who came out to measure doors and advise on which log to purchase.  Excellent work by both the door installer and the plumber who installed the gas log.  Very pleased with the finished product.

  • Wes was great from start to finish.
    He called us within a few hours of our initial online request and came out the next morning for an estimate.  He provided an estimate on the spot with a range depending on the difficulty of the job.  He was open and honest about the potential issues that could increase the cost.  We were debating between two different styles of tile for our bathroom walls, and he advised on the pluses and minuses of both options.
    For the job itself, Wes and Sylvester were punctual and hard-working.  They came early and worked well into the evening, but only after confirming they would not get in the way.  They finished the job in about half their estimated time and at the low end of their estimated cost.  Most importantly, the work was impeccable.

  • He did a great job.  I purchased the fireplace and Bill installed it.  It was a difficult job and he always had a smile on his face, was pleasant, willing to help and his price was reasonable.  About 3 weeks later, I noticed that the fireplace wasn't working and that the pilot light continued to go out.  I called Bill for help because the wind was blowing the light out.  Not only did he tell me that he would get back to me but he went to the store to find out what he could do help me and he also called another person who could put a cap in my fireplace to solve the problem.  He set everything up and I offered to pay him for his work on the issue.  He told me not to worry about it, he installed the fireplace and wanted it to work correctly.  Bill will be my go-to guy forever!

  • I used to have Master Chimney Sweepers for my chimney. But they were very booked up so I called Derek instead, who was able to come in very short notice and did a great job sweeping the chimney and installing a cap. Both Derek and Ronnie were very professional and I am quite satisfied with the experience. Will definitely call them again in the future!
