  • Dr. Woolfson and his vet tech Lori were fantastic. There were two other dog surgeons in our town that perform the surgery but we had read mixed reviews about their hospitals online (mainly complaining about how greedy the hospitals were and how there were hidden fees). Our dog walker highly recommended Dr. Woolfson as someone who would put our dog's health ahead of money - she had previously had her dog's ACL repaired by him. We decided to make the 45 minute trek to meet Dr. Woolfson. He provided us a number of informative materials so that we could make the decision about what surgery our dog would have. He provided his recommendation but with no pressure. He also provided us materials on her recovery at that appointment so that we would know what to expect. The surgery fee included the surgery, all follow-up appointments, and all sedation and x-rays, so there were no hidden surprises. You can tell that Dr. Woolfson and Lori love dogs. We felt very comfortable entrusting our dog's health and life with them. The surgery went great. They were available for any questions or concerns. We were very happy with them and would definitely recommend them to other pet owners.

  • We arrived 15 minutes early and were taken immediately.  Everyone was very friendly, warm and professional.  We have been bringing our pets here since 1978, and often recommend them to other pet owners.  The only downside is the cost, which is on the high side (probably due to their location in Newton).

  • Weston Veterinary Clinic has taken care of my dog for 4 years and my adult children's dogs and cats for even longer.  While there services are expensive, I don't know that they're more expensive than anyone else.  There service is excellent, particularly in response to minor and major emergencies.  They helped us deal with the dog eating a bottle of prescription pills and with him catching and killing a skunk.  They are always willing to give good advice about pet care over and above medical care.  There medical care is exceptional and caring.

  • Excellent!  I've been using Windhover Veterinary Center for over 20 years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences.  They have treated a bird and 5 cats in those 20+ years.  When one of my cats had cancer, Dr. McMillan was so caring and helpful, from referrals to suggestions, etc.  She telephoned me frequently to see how my cat was doing.  Both Dr. McMillan and Dr. Holmes and very knowledgeable and truly love animals.  And the staff -- techs and reception -- are great.  Windhover is the best!

  • They specialize in cats and they are very good. We took our kitties in for their annual visit last summer. We are very happy with them. They have 3 vets, and I think all 3 of them are graduates of Cornell School of Veterinary. A cat doctor from Cornell is the cream of the best. We have dealt with all 3 vets there, as well as the other staff, and they are all fine. When we move, we will miss them.

  • My dog and cats (2) have been seeing Dr. Neil Storey for the past 3 years now since we moved to Waltham, I cannot thank him enough for the patient and great care he has been given to my aging pets.

  • Our dog has severe allergies and it appeared that he was experiencing some discomfort with his eye. We called in the morning for an appointment and Dr. Cusick was able to see the dog later in the day. Dr. Cusick diagnosed it as conjunctivitis and prescribed an eye ointment. The dog's eye is significantly better.
Emily and the team at Dr. Cusick's office are very kind and compassionate, and are very responsive to our concerns with regard to the care of our dog.
  • Our cat mysteriously became lethargic and in pain,. Since this happened on a Sunday we ended up at VESCONE, who has a 24-hour emergency room. After an exam and an x-ray they diagnosed him with two extremely arthritic hips and sent him home with a subdermal pain medication along with an oral to give him. They talked us into performing a double femoral-head ostectomy (FHO) to alleviate the pain in his hips.
The cat didn't tolerate the medication well, with a paw that was fluttering and he started listing to one side. We discontinued the medicine and tried another pain med, hoping that he would recover enough for surgery, but he was getting worse. We took the cat to another neurologist who diagnosed the problem as a probably brain tumor impairing motor function and getting quickly worse. She didn't think the hips were the real issue--they had been that way for years. The cat died shortly thereafter (we couldn't afford the MRI/surgery for the brain tumor).
While VESCONE (probably) got the diagnosis quite wrong, I can't fully fault them--it's extremely tricky to figure out what's going on. However I do wish they'd spotted the obvious neurological symptoms so that we wouldn't have gotten our hopes up.
+ 24 hour access to competent staff who understands why you're freaking out.
+ The staff was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the process and truly cares about the health of the pets.
    - The waiting room is a little stark but understandably so.
+ The wait time was always significant (usually about an hour, sometimes three), because pets are coming through at all hours and our pet's complaint from a triage perspective wasn't as time-critical.
+ They do provide free coffee and tea (a permanent donation from a previous customer) which is nice when you're upset about your sick pet...
We'll definitely work with them again if/when we have to.

  • Molly (the dog) had a rash. Didn't seem to bother her much but it was getting worse. They were very sweet with her and she was fine throughout the exam. They gave her a treat and some meds and we were on our way. She has allergies. Cleared right up.

  • They are an excellent veterinary clinic. Dr. Krawshuk is very gentle and works well with both of our cats. He is very reassuring and responds well to our questions.  They are always on schedule, so our cats (who don't like to be out of the house) do not have to wait too long to be seen.
