    Maximum Renovations
PERFECT! We LOVE our new bathroom! The end result exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Fernando and his crew for all of the other smaller projects (skim-coating old walls, painting, building a closet) that made our old house so much nicer to live in. We are going to re-hire you when we're ready to do the kitchen.

    Quick Response Electrical Service
Claudio was capable, professional, and communicative. I called him and discussed the problem, and on that call we scheduled a day and time for him to come fix the light. He gave me all of the information I asked for about the right parts to buy. Before the appointment, he was responsive via text message both about logistics and about another question that I had. When he arrived at our house, he checked out the situation and paused to give me a description and quote before proceeding. The work itself was done quickly and cleanly. We are perfectly satisfied.

Peter is a professional! I got a few quotes and while Peter's wasn't the lowest, I could tell he takes pride in his work and would make sure the job was done correctly. On the scheduled date, he and two workers showed up on time and got to work. The work we had done included installing a fan brace, medallion, and chandelier in our living room, installing a medallion over a chandelier in our guest bedroom, and installing a medallion on a chandelier 20+ feet up (that required two ladders and a plank straddling a staircase). The guys worked fast and once the hard stuff was done, Peter left it to his guys to clean and wrap it up (which is good because Peter's hourly rate is higher than his workers). Overall, was very satisfied with their work and will be hiring them again for my electrical needs.

Eddie and Steve were very quick and neat. They are very experienced electrician - troubleshoot and fix the problem in timely manner. They also take time to explain everything. Would definitely hire again.

WOW! This was our second time using Eddie for an electrical project and, once again, we were delighted with the outcome! From getting an initial quote, to the finished product, Eddie was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive and was able to come out to give us a quote in a matter of days after I reached out. He has great expertise and makes solid recommendations, but never in a pushy way, which I really appreciate. His quote was comparable to another vendor we found on Angie's List, but because we had worked with Eddie before and knew his quality of work, we decided to give him the job and we are so glad we did. On the day of the project, he and his partner showed up at 7:45 on the dot and got right to work (they even helped my husband move our couch out of the way, which was not part of the scope of work) :) I left for work at that point, but Eddie mapped out where each of the lights would go and showed my husband his plans before he made any cuts, which I really appreciated. Once the project was finished, they cleaned up meticulously after themselves. When I got home that evening, if it weren't for the gorgeous lights, I would not have known any work was done in our house! Eddie went above and beyond as well, and patched the holes that the previous light fixture had left (also not in the scope of work, but very much appreciated). We are thrilled with the end result and it completely transforms the room. Needless to say, if we ever need any other electrical work done, Eddie will be our first call.

Given the complexity of the project, it went as smoothly as something like this can go. Hagit developed a very functional and attractive design based around an island that would seat 3, along with a variety of cabinetry. She was very patient when we wanted a number of adjustments. She accompanied us to pick out counters and backsplash, and always seemed to have good ideas for selections according to our tastes. Brian mapped out the engineering, which included moving a support beam, together with an engineering firm. He also mapped out a three-month schedule with the various subcontractors the firm uses, like the plumber, electrician, plasterer, counter people, floor people, etc. They all had lots of experience with this kind of work, and in working with KCF. Brian worked hard to ensure that new wood flooring would match well with existing flooring just outside the new kitchen. The KCF team also took a lot of care to set things up in our condo to create barriers to minimize dust and dirt, and try to ease our inconvenience; they even loaned us a microwave to use in our temporary kitchen in the basement. For the most part, subs showed up as scheduled, and did good work. KCF also coordinated all the town inspections. There were only a few glitches--the biggest one was when the tiles for the backsplash arrived broken, and it took some weeks to get replacements. The tile outfit wasn't very responsive, and seemed not to care much. But KCF kept on with all the other work, and the tiles were finally put in pretty much near the end. We have used the kitchen for a couple months now and love it. The design and craftsmanship all worked well. Going through a kitchen re-do is never a pleasant experience, but KCF made it as painless as possible.

    Benjamin Electric, Inc.
Excellent- Fixed light., also checked on and fixed small power issue with television (which was not on the original visit request) Due to my schedule, I had to schedule Benjamin Electric well in advance, which I was able to do. I have used several times over years, would use again.

    Joseph Rocheleau Electrician
Two electricians showed up; they were extremely friendly, polite, and informative. They basically laughed at the price quote the other contractor had given us and had the fan installed and everything cleaned up in less than two hours. It's been a while, but if I recall correctly they went ahead and installed a couple of extra electrical outlets in our basement for us while they were there. Even with the extra work, they were done hours ahead of schedule, and I don't feel the least bit ripped off-- efficiency is awesome, and they were wonderful.

We wanted lighting added to two of our closets and a chandelier installed in a difficult place (20 feet up). Since I was planning to hire an electrician, I purchased 4 hours of electrical labor as an Angie's List BIG DEAL. The whole experience was frustrating. After purchasing the BIG DEAL, MTS Electrical contacted me through Angie's List and asked that I call to schedule my appointment and discuss what I wanted done. So that's what I did. Knowing the work would take more than 4 hours, I asked if an electrician could stop by or call me to discuss the work and provide an estimate for any overage. MTS Electrical books multiple appointments per day so I wanted to make sure there would be enough time to get the work done. Unfortunately, they were booked a month out and were too busy with BIG DEAL volume to provide quotes. Purchasing a BIG DEAL was new to me because I've never hired a contractor without getting a quote first and having them review the job.  Anyway, I made an appointment for a month out -- No problem. We rescheduled twice-- once my conflict, once theirs, and then there was a little mix up -- -- again no problem. About two days before the appointment, I called and one of the electricians answered. Great! I wanted to find out what I'd need to provide for the install. The electrician told me we couldn't install incandescent fixtures, but florescent or LED would be fine. I still didn't know if I needed an 18", 24", or 36" fixture, but he said to go to Home Depot and ask which fixture would work. Again, had they seen the job, they could have made recommendations. ...And no offense to Home Depot folks, but I wouldn't rely on them to know electrical code. So I did some homework and purchased the fixtures.
The appointment was scheduled for 10:00 AM. At 11:00 AM I called and they were wrapping up another appointment and then heading over. They arrived just after 12:00 PM. The guys were very pleasant - Rich and Hogan. I explained what I wanted done. They were fine with the closet light installs, but not comfortable installing the chandelier 20 feet up. It didn't matter anyway though because they didn't have the proper equipment (ladders, etc.) to install a 20 ft high chandelier (again, had they seen it ahead of time they would have understood).
The guys started working on the closet lighting. I believe Rich is a licensed electrician and Hogan was more of a helper or at least that's how it appeared. I wish I'd known this ahead of time since I was being charged for two guys. I understand folks have to learn on the job, just prefer it's on my nickel and not my dime. The other reason I'm mentioning this is that they were sharing one set of tools... they kept running back and forth between the adjacent rooms with tools and Rich was handling the tougher work.
Regarding the work, it's important to note we have an old house... it presents challenges (you never know what's behind plaster and lath walls... and they didn't have a decent stud finder so we used mine). Anyway, snaking wire through the walls seemed like it was going to present issues so I told them it was fine to attach armored cable up the inside of the closet, add switches, and run cable up to the externally mounted florescent fixture. It isn't pretty, but it accomplishes the task. The light switch boxes they installed were commercial grade, 4"x4", mulberry boxes. I'm mentioning this because I'm not sure if code requires that or if that's all they had in the truck -- Either way, a 4"x4", metal mulberry box looks ridiculous in a closet (thank goodness it's in the closet where no one will see it). Also, they didn't have switch covers for the mulberry boxes so I had to run to the local hardware store to avoid paying for "shopping time." Overall, the work was mediocre -- one of the closet fixtures was installed way off-center (again, no one will see it), and one of the outlets they tapped into, which is outside the closet, is no longer flush to the wall (they tried to fix it, but the wall plate still isn't flush).
Regarding price, I don't understand the BIG DEAL advertisement: "$249 for 4 hours of electrical work (SAVE 40%)". Not realizing I had prepaid for a BIG DEAL, they gave me an invoice for $500. So if I do the math: It took 4 hours to complete the work. Two guys for four hours totals 8 hours. That means it's normally $250 for 4 hours. So I saved $1 by going through a "BIG DEAL" headache and I certainly didn't save 40%. Either way, I'm glad the experience is behind me and glad that they did not want to install the chandelier. In the future I will hire someone willing to inspect the work ahead of time even if it means they're more expensive.

They were professional and on time, and did a very good job with the work.  No problems.  The only caveat I would have is that it should be clearer in the advertisement that the deal is for only 1 hour, with two people (electrician and electrical helper).  But they got the work done as I had wanted with no issues.
