Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Waban

    Morris Doors, Inc.
PJ sold me just what I needed - and nothing more - for a good price, and performed the job well. When he noticed that he had made a mistake on the price in my favor, he voluntarily adsorbed the shortfall. I could not have been more pleased!

    Metro Door Boston
Gary was great. Explained all the options, and when the manufacturer delivered the wrong door he promptly had it replaced. High quality product and great job installing. Was slightly more expensive than the more economical options but well worth the price differential. I have a good looking well-insulated door that makes a big difference.

    Lynoka Garage Door Service
We got the big deal from Angie's List for a garage door tune up for a house we moved in a couple months ago. Angie's List gave them our old address, so Scott went over there on time and called us. I unfortunately did not hear the call, so after the arrival window passed, I called their office and found out about this mix up. The receptionist was very quick to reschedule it, and offered to come back in the afternoon. In the afternoon, they arrived promptly at the new place. Scott was very helpful and told us that the door is original with the house, but the opener is only a few years old, and that the cables and some parts were changed out, probably with the opener. He did notice that the rollers are worn and do not fit very well, and offered to change them out for a small fee. From what I can tell, the new rollers are of better quality than the original ones, and the door was so quiet after the tune up that I cannot even tell from the floor above the garage when it was being opened.
They are courteous, helpful, and very professional. I am glad we found them and will definitely use their service again.

    Diamond Overhead Door
Gary, the owner, came to visit on-site, showed us the options, discussed them with us, then `put up a really great quote.
On the scheduled day his crew came in, built the frame and the trim around the door, installed the door, tuned up everything, took all the debris and left. Nice, polite and proficient folks.
Now, we had a relatively new opener with sensors which we retained from the old installation. Diamond installers put the sensors back but mounted them relatively low because of the position of the brackets on the new door. When the fall came in we discovered that fallen leaves now confuse the sensors. It was almost four months after the job was done, but we called Gary and two days later there came two technicians, mounted the sensors on the walls instead of on the railing and voila! - everything works again.
Since the opener was not originally part of the job we offered to cover the visit but Gary insisted that this is part of the service. Kudos!!
I don't understand why people buy their garage doors from a big store when a proficient, affordable, dependable and hassle free alternative is out there.

    Marathon Door & Glass Inc
Our 2-bay garage is perhaps 100 years old and had some pretty messed up swing doors which made it nearly unusable (specially in winter). It needed some upgrading!
The door frames were not square. We had some dry rot issues. One of the bays was an addition with a low flat roof which concerned us with respect to putting in a motor. The other had a high roof with no obvious place to attach a motor. David came out to measure and size the job. He wasn't concerned about issues we thought would be show stoppers for installing modern doors in an old garage and he provided solutions for all of them which included some reframing. We were happy to be moving forward.
We had a slight snafu with one of the doors that arrived from the manufacturer  (Clopay) which had nothing to do with Marathon. Marathon's measurements were correct and (thankfully) documented.  The manufacturer's error stretched the lead time on one of the doors. However Marathon took care of all of that even though their costs were increased by having to make two separate installations instead of just once.
The guys who performed the install were very professional and courteous. David visited the site also to ensure that things were going according to plan and help with some of the difficulties of the job. They did a great job and we were left with a couple of well installed, good looking doors that work beautifully and finally made the garage usable.
We had asked a well-reviewed Angie's List installer to come look at the job and give us an estimate about a year earlier. His price was $2K more than Marathon and he would not do any of the necessary framing which would have requiried us to hire someone else to do that.  Marathon offered good value.

    McCabe's Garage Door
Very good and professional job!  I had another issue of the door and asked the guy to check it.  Even he did not fix the problem, he tried his best.  After he left, my wife noticed some adjustment he made was actually not good...the garage door was a bit lifted from the ground.  My wife called McCabe and the person returned immediately to correct the problem.  I highly recommend this company!

    Goodrow Door Solutions
Goodrow door solutions showed up on time, which is a big plus. We originally contacted them to "tune up" our garage door. However, a few days before our appointment, the automatic garage door (motor) broke. The motor stopped working. They removed the motor from the ceiling and showed us why it was broken and that it needed to be replaced (it was 10 years old). They replaced the motor right on the spot. I highly recommend them.

    Door Systems Inc
I called on a Tuesday morning, the day after the motor on the garage door stopped working. I did not know what was wrong with it, at that time.  My car was in the garage and there was no way to open the garage door.  The phone  at the company was answered quickly and I explained the problem to the woman on the other end.  I wanted someone to come that day to repair the motor but if that could not be done, I didn't want to replace the motor because I am moving from the house in 3 months.  She was gracious and friendly and stated that she would be able to get someone to my house that afternoon within a window of a few hours.
Billy and Tom arrived mid-afternoon.  They were friendly and professional.  It was not clear what was going on right away and Billy was patient and careful while trying to figure out where the wires, capacitor and other parts were hidden in the ancient motor. He was courteous  about explaining what he was doing, as I am usually curious when workmen come to the house and I always ask questions.
The first thing he fixed did not solve the problem, and he then realized that the motor had burned out.  Knowing that I was moving and did not want to replace the motor, he kindly suggested that he detach the motor from the door and set the door up to be operated manually.  He and Tom checked that the door was balanced and easy to operate, they attached a strong metal handle and a thick sliding bolt lock to the inside center of the door. It was a great fix - just what was needed under the circumstances and they charged me a minimum fee.  The invoice arrived the next day by email - a great convenience.
All in all, I was so impressed with the whole experience!  Their customer service was impeccable and so was the actual work they did, however small.  I would highly recommend this company!

The technician arrived on time.  He did his work quickly and neatly.  He explained everything.  We will definitely use them again.  The door is running properly and VERY quietly.  It is much quieter than before.  We are very pleased.  It could not have gone smoother.
