    Saulnier Garage Floors
Saulnier Floors installed an epoxy floor in our garage in June 2018. The floor surface was about 500 sqft, and the coat consisted of three layers - (1) vapor barrier (applied after grinding the concrete surface), (2) an epoxy coat, and (3) a polyurea finish with flakes. It took 4 days to do the job. My total cost was $5,300. The contract specified a 2-year warranty period. Jake Andrews sold and oversaw the job. I live in Newton, MA. At first, the floor looked great - smooth, level, shiny. Unfortunately, within a few months, brown, greasy, pimple-like spots started developing over the floor. When they are scraped off and washed away, they pop up back after a few weeks. Now, less than a year after the job completion, the floor is not only unsightly, but the greasy nature of the spots creates a real problem as the grease gets moved to our cars and to the house. Not a good situation at all. But what really disappointed me about Saulnier Floors and Jake Andrews in particular was their unwillingness to honor the warranty. Actually, we did not even get to a point of discussing the warranty as Jake would not respond to my emails and calls. For full transparency, he did respond initially - after a few weeks and reminders - to my email, and we set up a time for him to come over and inspect the floor. However, he did not show up and didn't bother to cancel either. I spoke to his assistant after, who ensured me that Jake would give me a call to reschedule. I have not heard from him since, in spite of my email reminders. Ultimately, I blame myself for this disaster experience. The lack of a credible number of customer reviews should have rung a loud alarm to me. Actually, it did, but I ignored the alarm as I trusted Jake Andrews when he was pitching the job. He looked knowledgeable, articulated, even likable. He spoke with great pride about their family owned business, how his uncle/owner gave him responsibility for the epoxy floor part, and how customer satisfaction was everything for them. With retrospect, meaningless words of a smooth-talking salesman. I should have been smarter!

    Mother Construction
My husband and I have worked with Lori for over five years. During that time she has assisted us with minor renovations, major redecorating, repainting, restoration of a room with significant water damage, and multiple other projects both large and small. Lori has an excellent sense of style and is incredibly practical. She read our taste and needs from the start. She was willing to take one project at a time and never pushed her agenda over ours! Her sense of color and design are as good as they get! She is superb at what she does!

The house was unoccupied at the time of the work. They strengthened the sub floor which eliminated the creaking that I had noticed when we were buying the house. They were very tidy. The finished work was perfect. I will hire them again.

    K Powers & Co
This store has an outstanding selection of rugs of all kinds, and also sells window coverings. After much searching at many stores and online sources, we found the perfect area rug for our living room here. They let us try out the rug in our home before purchasing to make sure that the color and style fit our decor, which was a tremendous plus because we were worried about getting exactly the right color. We worked with the owner, Kathleen Powers, in our rug selection, and she provided excellent customer service. We blew our budget on the price, but the quality of this rug is truly outstanding and we couldn't resist. We would highly recommend this store.

    Eco Floor Sanding
Eco Floor Sanding removed our old carpet and refinished the hardwood floors the previous owners covered up throughout the house.  Berj and and his crew were professional and courteous throughout the entire process.  He was flexible to add another room as well as change our original request to water based polyurethane.  They got done on time and the floors look great.  Have already recommended Eco to someone else.

We shopped at the Natick store. It had been a long time (20 years) since we had purchased wall-to-wall carpets. The salesperson was very helpful, and even talked us into going with a less expensive grade of carpet than we were originally interested in. The selection available in the store was really good. We were able to take three carpet samples home, and they had no problem with us keeping them for two weeks. We made our selection and the carpet arrived after only two weeks. The installers showed up right on schedule and did a great job. It was an easy process, and we're really happy with the whole transaction.

    Marcellos Design & Builders
Another very positive experience with Marcello and his team. Came in for an estimate on remodeling a previously unfinished/half-finished basement. Marcello's team did a great job of refacing our cabinets and adding a backsplash the previous year, so we knew the service would be good. The estimate was high, but Marcello was negotiable and we came to an agreement on a fair price. The remodel included total demolition of the previous space, building a bathroom, plumbing, electrical, framing, flooring, doors and windows, tiling, painting, finish carpentry and installing appliances. Workers were all punctual, friendly and accommodating. As the project was underway, we asked Marcello about the additional job of cleaning/scraping the living room and dining room ceilings and fixing a hole caused from a leaking pipe. Marcello went a step further and totally redid the ceilings and fixed the pipe and hole for no additional cost. Project managers were easy to talk to and the job was done in a timely manner. We will definitely use Marcello and his team again for other projects and have recommended them to anyone in our area looking for a contractor.

Jim and Joe came to do the estimate. Nice guys; said it would be a three-day job. That surprised me that it would take three days to demo a wall, frame it and patch the floor, but they talked about all the prep and detail work required.
Their sons and another guy did the actual work. Similarly good guys. They banged out the demo in half a day, and were even able to get the electrician over on Day 1 to do his thing. They nearly finished the reframing that day, too.
There was an issue when they said they didn't know they were supposed to patch the floor, and that it would cost more. They had thought the replacement hardwood pieces were only for the threshold. I was a bit incredulous. Why would anyone want a 7-foot wide hole above the subfloor in their kitchen? Obviously the floor required needed to be patched. Plus, they had planned and charged for three days work. They were nearly done after one day.
I talked it through with Jim, and we agreed it was a misunderstanding of some kind. The guys did finish the job, including the floor patch, at no additional cost.
However, the floor patch was not done well. Five months later, and there are some quarter-inch gaps between flooring pieces. And the threshold-long piece of maple they put down isn't entirely flush to the floor on one end (sticks up slightly). Because the flooring gaps are in a spot that cannot be covered up with a plant or something, it will need to get fixed sooner or later.
