    Pleasant Car Care
They are wonderful.  They are pleasant and they don’t rip you off. They give you good estimates.  One time I had a $600 bill and I only had $400 and he let me bring the next $200 the next day. He is very trusting and a good guy.

    Toyota of Watertown
Went to Wellesley Toyota Aug 2013 for different service. Wellesley with vehicle on lift noticed earlier recall service physically NOT PERFOMED vs. Toyota system entry says completed by Watertown.  Watertown never clarified what they did.  Wellesley pushed Toyota HQ to reissue recall.  Obvious Watertown charged Toyota for work NOT performed.  Don't seem to care about customer safety!

    Speen Street Automotive
We've used these guys for years and years, and they are truly amazing. How easy is it to find a car repair shop you can trust? They've saved us hundreds of dollars at least a couple of times, by figuring out how to fix something without having to replace it, as is the case here, as well as giving us a second opinion on work a Honda dealer's service people told us was necessary and urgent (it wasn't), and would cost big bucks. In the present case, the Subaru dealer's service people said it would cost us over a hundred and would take them at least an hour and a half just to "analyze" the problem. I'm betting they'd have told us we had to replace the muffler. Speen fixed the problem in an hour, and very kindly drove me to a nearby restaurant and picked me up while they were working on it. I highly recommend them for anything to do with Subarus, their specialty. They're good at Honda Accords too. And if you call ahead on a job that'll take awhile, they'll give you a loaner car

    Alignment Speciality Co
Very responsive. Ease of appointment setting, able to bring in car for their inspection. Called with details of work needed and price to it. Dropped off and picked up in the same day. In walking distance to MBTA D Green Line, easy to bring in and pick up later. Jeff and Nicole are great to work with and back up any work done.

    Mercedes-Benz Of Natick
Always a pleasure to go in to this dealership for a vehicle service. From the initial greeting to the final check-out, everything is professional and courteous. These guys have taken the pain (if not the cost) out of a car service.

Made appointment on-line about 3 days before and I arrived a few minutes late. I had a Groupon for a package of oil changes and told them I thought I needed a wheel alignment. They checked alignment and said adjustment was needed; they offered to apply a $10 discount coupon available on-line which I was not aware of; the oil change cost was $0 due to the Groupon.
I was in and out in less than an hour.
Their service prices seem competitive and they are efficient and business-like and get you in and out quickly.
I have also purchased tires from Liner and have been very pleased. They were willing to order a very specific, highly rated tire brand which is hard to find in this area, pricing was competitive and best of all they never asked for a deposit when I ordered $1,200 worth of tires from them.

    Direct Tire & Auto Service
    > Direct Tire is one of the finest car maintenance places I've ever seen.  I've used them since 1984 for all tires and tire maintennace and repairs.
    > I've gotten half off tire replacements.
    > I've gotten the benifit of the doubt when a tire warranty was being involked.
    > I've had a lot of repair work done on all systems over the years: exhaust, brakes, starter, battery.
    > Highest quality customer reps I've ever seen and the same guys and gals are working the customer intake for decades.
    > i've asked to see the work and talk to the actual machanic on complex stuff and no problem.
    > The owner of all the Direct Tire locations is one of the most consistent high-quality business owners I've run across in my 55 years of dealing with repair and maintenance.
    > Can't say enough about the company, the people, and the results.

Old time garage is very reliable, they'll have the car ready when they say and their estimates are almost always spot on or even a little high. I've been pleasantly surprised when the actual repair cost is less than the estimate.
They also won't nickel and dime you for diagnostics; bring your car in to have them check out some perceived problem and if it's nothing they don't charge you (unlike the dealer that will hit you for $90 to tell you what you already knew).
They also know the and quot;realand quot; service recommendations for your vehicle, not the fluff stuff the dealer tries to sell you such as lubricating you door hinges and other useless service.
My only complaint is they do charge for some service which I never request such as and quot;fluid top upand quot; which consists of refilling your washer fluid or power steering.

    Bernardi Honda in Natick
Every service appointment is followed-up with a call to confirm your appointment and sell you more service you probably don't need.
I have used Bernardi whenever I get a coupon or deal on oil change or other service special, otherwise I try to avoid them due to their high prices. This latest time they noted the rear brakes where worn (which I knew was true) and didn't feel like shopping around so I told them to go ahead and do the work. Cost was probably $100 more than I could have gotten elsewhere, but I didn't have to spend time rescheduling and waiting again.
The $60k service on a newer Honda is joke; about the only service needed on these cars is to change the oil regularly. If you keep the fluids topped up, check the brakes, replace the air and cabin filters and rotate the tires everything else is probably not needed or is overkill.
Under no circumstances should you pay $90 to replace the cabin air filter; it's available for $15 either on-line or from an auto parts store and takes 5 minutes to replace yourself. Check out You-Tube for easy how-to videos.
Overall quality of work is good and have no complaints with the work done.

    J & S Mobil
    Scheduled work a day ahead.
    Dropped off car.
    They called when done.
    Punctual, complete, cheap.
I have had work done on Mercedes, Lexus, and Subaru here. Parts like batteries and windshield wipers as cheap as anyone. Good advice and never any "extra" work done.
Family owned in Newton for over 30 years. Son runs service area in two bays. I have them do all work except very dealer-specific work such as timing belt change.
These guys are the original local, honest, good value mechanics.
Will drop you off and pick you up.
Across street for Whole Foods, Walgreens, and two blocks from Newton's large main library. Plenty to do if you want to wait for your car.
see Yelp for many positive comments
