AAW Puma Construction & Remodeling LLCI have known Albert for quite some time and had various issues at my property here. I called and explained the situation and he came out the same day to assess. We had some serious leaking between the shared kitchen and bathroom wall which went extended to the basement. They redid areas of the kitchen, bathroom and basement.- Joseph Z.

ALANCASTER HOME REMODELINGConverting a porch into an office was a third project that John did on our property, We hired him because we knew that he would work with us to come up with a realistic plan that suited our needs, and that he would do solid work at a reasonable price to implement it. As always, John delivered. He completely rebuilt the supporting structure to bring the space up to code, dealt with supply shortages and subcontractor schedules and adjusted the plans based on our feedback. With all the complications of doing construction during the pandemic, the project took longer to finish than we hoped to, but John and his wife who runs the office did a good job of keeping us up to date on the progress. Bottom line is that thanks to John's craftsmanship and perseverance we have a much needed extra office, it is built very well, looks great, and is providing much needed functionality in our house.- Michael D.

AAdvanced Hurricane ProtectionGoing with Advanced Hurricane Protection was the BEST decision! First, they came up with a design and plan that addressed 2 difficulties: the fit of a door that was not standard size and avoiding the replacement unique oversized large window. Their pricing, even with some special adjustments of the non standard door, was competitive. They did their work in 2 stages- shutters first and then the windows and doors separated by the Holidays. The men who did the shutters arrived on time and worked exclusively outside of the house. They solicited my preferences when it was appropriate - especially re the placement of the bottom tracks for the patio shutter enclosure. They even gave consideration to the placement re my dogs and their access to the doggie door! They protected all of my patio furniture and cleaned up when they were done. I was very impressed with them. Oh- and they wore masks because of covid when near me. They showed me how to work the shutters and locks and gave me maintenance tips. Overall a really nice job. The team that worked on my windows arrived on time and were tidy when working and considerate in my home to wear masks. They draped my furnishings to minimize the dust and vacuumed when complete. They worked one room, of my preference, at a time to minimize the disturbance within my home. They were a happy team as I could hear them talking with each other nicely and sometimes laughing with each other. They did a great job and made it all look so great! The windows and doors are quiet and good looking and feel heavy yet they glide in their tracks. Really nice! One handle didnt function as well as they thought it should and they brought it to my attention and said they would have it addressed.. and sure enough in no time, the Shwinco Representative arrived to resolve it fully. The team had the papers for the permits and inspections ready for me when I prepared to settle the bill. I am so impressed with the windows and very very impressed with their installation. I will highly recommend AHP and Shwinco to my neighbors and friends.- Sandra R.

AEsteban R Landscaping And Tree Service IncAMAZING! I cannot say enough about the great work of Esteban R Landscaping and Tree Service Inc. I first met Mauricio when he introduced himself and gave me his business card 10yrs ago. I decided to give him a chance and hired him for landscaping. Their work was exceptional. Very professional and attention to detail. The work I’ve hired him for has progressed from landscaping to roofing, tree removal, patio remodeling, etc. His materials are high quality and he does not skimp. Mauricio’s company, Esteban’s landscaping, offers competitive pricing and will work with you. He took it upon himself to replace boards on my roof that he could have ignored and I would have been none the wiser. I love that he is dependable and takes such pride in his work. Do yourself the favor and hire Esteban R Landscaping and Tree Service Inc. I highly recommend Mauricio and believe you will find his work to be as exceptional as I do.- Jocelyne B.

ACrystal Renovations LLCPedro Quissanga was wonderful throughout the process. The project started out as a porch window replacement with an architect drawing plans, but once we started construction, we discovered that the whole underneath part was rotting and needed reconstruction. Pedro and his crew were hard working, reliable and careful, and his price for all of the work was very reasonable. When something went awry late in the construction, Pedro took it seriously and got people over within hours to locate the issue and fix the problem. Even though the project ended up being much more difficult than initially expected, there were never any unexpected charges and the additional work was at a consistent high level. We recommend Crystal Renovations without reservation and have several neighbors using them now for small-to-medium sized projects.- Tyler C.

ATitanium ConstructionI hired Titanium to fix a leak in my sunroom, replace the gutter for that room and some other minor repairs. They were able to schedule my job within a week of receiving the estimate. My contact, Ben, was very accessible and got back to me quickly when I had questions or concerns. The job went smoothly and the work looks good. I would definitely hire them again.- John M.

AWe hired R&R Contracting (Dan Nephew , owner - [*** Link removed ***] to do a major addition to our home. We could not be happier with the result or the process. Dan and his brother John are conscientious, hard-working, kind, patient, calm, levelheaded, capable and smart. They worked through difficulties one might anticipate encountering when expanding a house that is almost 150 years old. The project ended up being much larger than anyone anticipated, and the end result was amazing. Basically half of our house was redone. We are very grateful for their professionalism and heartily recommend R&R Contracting. What follows is a lot of detail illustrating how complex a project it was that R&R completed so well. We live in a house built in 1870 that had been expanded over the years, but it did not have a bedroom on the first floor, had too many flat roofs and had 1.5 small bathrooms, with only the half bathroom on the first floor. We wanted to expand the house to permit us to live longer in our home as we age. Specifically, the original scope of our project was to change our ½ bathroom to a full bathroom, to change the flat roof over our living room to be pitched and to add a bedroom to the back of the house. We also wanted the alterations to facilitate the installation of solar panels later and to ensure that the new addition was done in ways that would permit us ideally to stay in the house even if we were to become disabled. In addition to R &R, we hired an architect to help us because zoning limits what can be done in small lots like ours and because we wanted to retain the basic shape of the house as faced from the front. Our project turned out to be complicated. Integrating the existing stone foundation to the new addition was challenging because of the risk of collapse of the original foundation. Maximizing the size of the bedroom to accommodate the smaller footprint required by zoning meant using different size lumber and spray foam insulation. This in turn made it impossible to have a window in the attic above the new addition. It was impossible/impractical to integrate the original HVAC system into the new addition because of the stone foundation. That meant installing a separate, second heating and cooling system. Installing the new bedroom revealed that our back mudroom was inadequately supported. It needed to be torn down and rebuilt. Because the new addition had an attic, our upstairs bathroom lost its one window. That led us to redo much of the upstairs bathroom When starting to install the peaked roof above the new living room, replacing the flat roof, we learned that the living room was not properly supported below nor did the roof above it adequately support our second floor. We needed to reinforce and then repaint the living room and redo its flooring. We needed to upgrade our electrical service to 200 amps to accommodate the new (second) HVAC system and to position our house for solar panels Dan and his team worked through all of these complications and because of them the end result for us was A full bathroom with a linear drain glass-enclosed shower with the smallest of lips permitting us to walk in easily A new bedroom with a walk-in closet and a barnyard door connecting to the bathroom, able to accommodate a wheel chair down the road. The walk-in closet door is actually a Murphy bookcase, an bookcase that can be opened. A newly painted and newly wood floored and adequately supported living room A new mudroom, replacing the old one A new deck, replacing the old one Refinished wooden stairs leading to the second floor A new wooden floor in much of the upstairs hallway 200 amp service An upstairs bathroom with a new sink, toilet, vanity, fixtures and built –in cabinet where the windows was, also newly tiled and painted and with the bathtub refinished An attic above the new bedroom, with a pull-down ladder A peaked roof above the living room and the attic and the mudroom, meaning I have much less to shovel in a bad winter New wired smoke detectors A newly surfaced drive-way Because of our change-orders and the unexpected complications, the project was considerably over budget; but that has nothing to do with R&R. This kind of thing is common in projects like ours. We expected it; and when we started to approach our upper limit, we worked with Dan to limit expenses Dan did an amazing job hiring and handling subcontractors. This includes the electrical company he hired, the same one we had hired independently many years before to remove knob and tube wiring. When this one and the same company said during our project with R&R that there was knob and tube wiring to be removed, I showed Dan the company’s original certification that the knob and tube wiring had been removed; and Dan worked with the company to remove the remaining knob and tube wiring for free Thank you to Dan, his brother John and R&R for an outstanding job!
