AD & S Partners ConstructionWhen we started looking for a contractor on Angie's List, we were skeptical that we could find someone who could do three things: being within our budget, easy to communicate with and making sure that the final product was of high quality. We had a big project (renovating two bathrooms, renovating a kitchen, taking down a wall, removing wood paneling from multiple rooms, remodeling our basement, including removing asbestos tile from the whole basement, whole house interior painting, remodeling the laundry room, installing new light fixtures everywhere, etc) and Sanfer ended up being the perfect contractor for us. He was so easy to get in touch with and he did a great job keeping us updated on the project as it was coming along (we weren't living there at the time). While the project ended up going over the original budget we set, we also added multiple projects along the way that Sanfer was able to accomplish. The other thing we truly appreciated is that Sanfer has a true eye for quality and was able to ensure everything was exactly to our standards -- the tiling, the painting, even the installation of our new doorknobs. He even brought certain things up to us to help make the home more secure and prevent future damage (putting up stronger supports under our deck, fixing the flashing around the chimney) that he didn't need to do. When a few things needed to be fixed after the renovations were complete, he wasted no time in sending someone out to do the repair. Sanfer was so nice, honest, and enjoyable to work with, things we were not expecting to find in our general contractor but which made the whole renovation experience that much more positive. We would absolutely recommend him and his crew to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy contractor who will do a high-quality job for a fairly reasonable price.- Deborah G.

AAW Puma Construction & Remodeling LLCThis was our first remodel where we replaced everything in our bathroom in our main living space within our condo. We brought four contractors out for bids and found Albert's price to be amongst the most competitive but what we liked was that he was well organized and quick to respond both leading up to signing his proposal but also throughout the project. We are pleased with the finished product and have received many compliments on the bathroom. We would definitely consider hiring Albert again if/when we remodel our other bathroom.- Charles O.

AWe Show UpWe Show Up were great to work with and I would recommend them for any remodeling project. I worked with We Show Up on several projects in my condo: 1) adding sound deadening material and insulation around an HVAC cabinet, 2) finding a noisy pipe in the ceiling, and 3) removing two built-in wall shelves and patching the walls. Alan, Miguel, and Kamal were great: they showed up on time each day, kept me informed as they worked, and answered all of my questions. They were also very careful about wearing masks and observing social distancing. The HVAC insulation and shelf projects turned out great, and the drywall patches came out very smooth and ready for painting. We were unable to find the noisy pipe, but that wasn’t their fault. APhalan Construction & The HandymanBob Phalan is great. As senior citizens, we can no longer do some of the routine home maintenance jobs around the house. Bob will come by and help us with any job we need done no matter how small. He also recently installed a slider door for us which looks beautiful. His work is meticulous and high quality. AWood Is GoodRich did a number of projects at our home. He fixed some closets, installed light fixtures and garbage disposals, installed curtains, and several other small jobs. DI would not recommend this location of ACE handyman. The owner/manager was quick with excuses and BS any time there was an issue. He quoted a price for two jobs- installing a new vanity and floor/tile. He never got back to me. After getting a plumber to install the vanity, I contacted him again about the floor. He claimed to have confused me with another person of similar name. (Even if such person existed, they wouldn't have needed the same, specific job done.) Finally, he sent a guy to do the job, which was perfectly adequate--what a handyman, rather than a trained flooring or bathroom professional, would do. He then sent an invoice for twice the quoted amount even though it was half the job I was quoted for originally, with a incorrect tally of hours and a suspiciously exact $200 charge for 'supplies'. When I clarified that he was charging me for supplies I had given the worker, he claimed the charge was actually for *other* supplies. He did not offer a breakdown of prices. As for the hours charged, he said I was wrong, and further claimed he always charged $100 an hour for employees to leave a job for three hours. At one point the employee broke a part on my newly installed, with all new plumbing, vanity, and I was charged $150 for him to drive to Home Depot for a replacement. We've used many tradesmen in our condo renovation and this is the single most shady outfit I have encountered. You can find great handymen on taskrabbit with guarantees on quotes and work. Do not use these guys.

He really went the extra mile to guide me on the bathroom remodel, making several key suggestions that turned out very nicely. He works very efficiently but without sacrificing quality, and he is skilled enough to complete many different tasks (cabinet install, tile replacement, etc) which makes the remodeling process so much more stress-free.
