Allergy Treatment reviews in Springfield

    Paul Walker MD
My son has been a patient of Dr. Walker's his entire life (he's now 23 yo) due to severe allergies and asthma. When he broke out with large welts on both arms we called the office and they fit him in right away (11:30 - same day). After examining him, Dr. Walker determined he was having an allergic reaction to bug bites (1 bite caused his entire forearm to swell - he had one on each arm). The doctor gave him several of things to try (my son is already on antihistamines for his allergies): Benedryl, a paste of meat tenderizer and water, and oatmeal (bath or paste). The non-medicinal treatments controlled the itching enough to get him through the day without taking Benedryl (which would've impacted his ability to work). Several days later, he is MUCH better. I really like that Dr. Walker doesn't just resort to medications - he's always suggested home remedies that work as well. The office is aware of my son's long history, and they always fit him into the schedule in a timely manner. We love Dr. Walker and have recommended him and his staff to many friends.

From the first appointment, Dr. Walker was thorough and understanding. He was very good at explaining my situation and the treatment and prognosis. After the first couple of visits I started meeting with Carrie, who is very personable and worked with me to develop a treatment plan that would work for me, which included changing medications based on my lifestyle.

He listens well to our concerns and that he really paid attention to what kind of testing we wanted done. He has a nice office. It was easy to get into and I do not really recall having to wait for a long to see him. I would definitely visit him again in the future.

He is excellent and so is his physician assistant. We were there for 3 hours and they helped me out a lot and listened to my concerns. My daughter had had chronic sinus problems, and I had to take her out of pre-school, twice, because of that. Unlike the pediatrician who used to just brush me off saying that kids get a lot of cold, the PA ordered all kinds of tests so that I could make sure that there was nothing seriously wrong with my daughter. The PA reviewed the test and she explained the results and really helped take care of my concerns, because I was really stressed about my daughter always having a cold. She has prescribed medication for sinus and that has totally made a difference, and my daughter has gone for months without the runny nose. I was very happy with the attention that they gave her.

He is very, very bright. He has some very good credentials. He has a satellite office in Massachusetts and also has another one in Westfield.
