    Kitchen Encounters, Inc.
We love everything about our new kitchen! Working with Joy made things so easy. She is knowledgeable and very responsive. She listened to our ideas and made great recommendations to further improve the project. She stayed in constant communication and handled any issues that arose. The workers Kitchen Encounters used were extremely professional and friendly -- and they kept our space very clean. All of the work that was done is top notch -- we love everything about it. Even better, they finished the project early and stayed close to our budget.

    Homestead Inc
Mr. Leue was very responsive, prompt, and helpful at explaining the process. He arrived on time and had arranged for a separate company (Granby Septic) to pump out the tank, which is required by code for the type of system we have. He explained things extremely well, indicating what was required by code, and provided some helpful tips on maintaining the system that could save us money. Very nice man. Highly recommend and would gladly hire him again in the future.

    A L BRISTOL & SONS INC
We could not possibly be more thrilled with the job they did. Lance Bristol carefully listened to us when we described what we wanted, gave us wonderful ideas about how to improve our original plan, clearly communicated the time required for completion, and also clearly communicated the eventual price of the job. They were consistently professional in all ways, from showing up every day to being available to speak to at any time. We were especially impressed with Lances sons, Ben and Henry, who in two days excavated all the stone from the foundation and built the 200' wind row wall. Henry demonstrated great skill in carefully placing stones and arranging them in their optimal location in the wind row. What they accomplished in two days is truly a work of art.
This transformation of our back yard is one of the best things, truly, that has happened to us here in South Hadley. What was once a nondescript area has become a jewel. I cannot tell you how many times our friends and neighbors have complimented us on the appearance of our yard. We could never have accomplished this dramatic improvement to the infrastructure of our property without AL Bristol and Sons. We are just very grateful that they were available to do this job for us.

    FRANK MARCHAND PLUMBING
Frank is a nice guy and a competent plumber. The problem is that he charges for both his time and the time of his apprentice, so you end up paying $134 per hour in labor. Worse, he adds mysterious charges for travel time. For example, he and his apprentice spent 1.75 hours at our house replacing our hot water heater. His bill includes 3.5 hours of labor (billing for both his time and apprentice's). I can only assume the extra charge is for 'travel time' (I've contacted him twice for an explanation of charges and he hasn't gotten back to me). Google Maps says it's 32 minutes from his door to ours, so even if he charged for every minute of that time both ways, we were still charged about 45 minutes of extra labor for reasons unknown. I would recommend Frank if you live very close by and don't mind paying more than the going rate for labor. Next time, we're using a different plumber.

    Real Dry Waterproofing - Holyoke
We have a 100 year old rock foundation on one side of our home and multiple leaks were causing real flooding issues. Steve came out with a crew and did excellent work to deal with the runoff. We now have a dry cellar basement and a permanent fix with a new rock trench and sub pump. Incidentally, we wound up with another unrelated leak in another portion of the house and Steve is now assisting with that as well.

    Skibel Plumbing Inc
I was super pleased. I had been using somebody else that I couldn't seem to get in touch with him so I asked a neighbor for a recommendation and he recommended Skibel Plumbing. They came and they were great, friendly and they solved the problem so I was happy. I have nothing bad to say.

    S.G.Racette Plumbing LLC.
The process went smoothly. The only limiting factors, really, were the gas company and gas inspector. S.G. Racette Plumbing was available roughly within a week or week-and-half of when we were ready to go, which seemed quite reasonable to us. It's a family business and they clearly all work well together.

    Shawn's Plumbing & Heating
I don't normally take the time to review a service unless that service
is exceptional, and in this case the service I received from Shawn's
    plumbing was exceptionally good.
After attempting to contact a couple of other local plumbers to repair
our rotted cast iron toilet flange, and receiving no calls back, it was
a welcome relief to reach Shawn on the phone and be able to discuss my
    plumbing issue the same day.
Shawn made good use of our phones, asking me to send over a couple
photos of the plumbing that required repair, allowing him to make an
estimate without the need for a house call to inspect in person. This
may not work in every case, but it did in ours, and the convenience was
    surely appreciated.
On the day we had scheduled the service, Shawn gave me a one hour window
for his arrival, and even called to let me know it would towards the
latter part of that window, which was again thoughtful, as I'm sure
anyone with a busy schedule appreciates knowing they can make use of a
half hour here and there without fear of missing an appointment.
When Shawn arrived, he was punctual (within minutes of when he said he
thought he might), professional, and friendly.
He was able to quickly get at the flange and answer any and all
questions I had about the installation of the new plumbing.
He was quick, thorough, and was very conscientious about cleaning up his
    work area before leaving.
While he was in our home, Shawn took the time to advise me on ways we
could save on our utility bills with modern energy saving alternatives
to our current dinosaur of a hot water heater.
Far from a hard sell, the conversation was more like an old friend
offering sound advise, and while Shawn's knowledge was extensive, his
explanations of the available options were as easy to understand as they
    were full of important details.
I would not hesitate to hire Shawn's plumbing in the future, and I will
be recommending his services to friends, family, and co-workers without
    hesitation.

    Home Facelifters
I was very happy with all aspects of the work performed and would hire this company again.  My call was returned within a day or two of when I left a message.  Joe came out to look at the job the following week and gave me an estimate a few days later. The work was performed within a couple of weeks of when I received the estimate.  The workers spent an entire day completing the project and communicated with me throughout the day on their progress and made recommendations to me as they further evaluated the work that needed to be done.

    Advanced Sewer & Drain Inc
We called John in a panic on Sunday night, because our sump pumps were all backed up due to huge amounts of rain and snow thaw.  He came out late in the evening and was as nice as could be.  He rinsed out the sump pumps, and they worked better.  He looked around for quite a bit, and helped us to see that the problem was not actually in the sump pumps, but that soil had been washed away from our bulkhead by groundwater, and that's where the water was flowing from.  Because he didn't need to change out the pump, he only charged us $20. to come out, even though it was late at night on a weekend. That was very decent of him, we thought.  He helped to calm our panic and direct us towards who to call to fix the actual problem.  I would definitely call him again for problems with our sump pump, drain cleaning, or repairs.
