    CRJ Enterprise Corp
Carlos is great, he is very easy to communicate with and kept me informed throughout our whole remodel. He advised us and gave his opinion when we weren't sure of a solution, he had all the answers for everything we needed and it never was a bother to him for me to call or text him with any concerns. His team was fast and efficient and Carlos himself oversaw the whole project. I highly recommend CRJ for any of your contracting needs.

Rich at RBK is amazing. Not only did he finish the work in a timely manner, he cared about the finer details of everything he did. There was nothing that he touched that didn't come out incredible. They are extremely fair and honest which is hard to find with this type of work. I plan on using them over and over again for any projects i have in the future. A++ work

Overall this project went horrible. The owner took our deposit, cashed it, and then skipped the start date. We e-mailed to complain and they then gave us another start date and skipped that as well. Finally after threatening legal action they performed the work (months late). The quality was fine when it was completed, but the management at this company has to be the worst in Boston.

    Marco Polo Construction
This project was very challenging: tight lot, very complex steel structure, vicious neighbors and city inspectors. Marco gave us a very good estimate, and we decided to hire him. Soon after we poured foundation, we had to halt the construction (it was an unrelated issue) for over a year. Marco was very patient and waited until we settled that issue and could resume the work. He was faithfully maintaining the lot in the meantime. After we could resume the work, Marco put an absolutely amazing foreman Junior (Jarbas) who has extraordinary skills!! The team was amazing, very high quality. Junior asked us when an important decision was to be made, such as choice of granite or sinks etc. After the project was finished, we are still amazed at how much thought Junior and Marco have put into this house! A very complex commercial-grade fire alarm, an intercom system, sound-proofing... Even after half a year, we see no single place where things could have been done better. He used very good materials, not a cheap stuff. The crew was top-notch: most folks stayed from start to finish, very high-quality workmanship. We cannot be happier about the GC choice we made. Thank you very much, Marco and Junior! We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Well, ill be short. When it came down to pricing, we thought they came a bit under budget but when we saw how much money they saved us, we were very impressed. One of my biggest concerns was the demolition/clean up and completion of the project.
Everything was beyond our expectations. I'll be honest, the owner is Young but very prompt, very professional and does everything he says that he's going to do and more. the project took 48 days and the estimated time was 60 days. Not once did the owner not be on the job.. if he had to leave, he would ask and employee to go in his place. My husband and I, are extremely pleased with everything.

George was fantastic to work with!
We had three estimates done. He took the most time by far to look at our property, and was much more thorough in discussing what would need to be done (for instance, pointing out areas where the wood was rotting). Therefore, I was expecting his estimate to be the highest -- but actually, it was about $1000 less.
It took about six weeks from the time we signed the contract for him to be able to start the work, but he kept us updated as to how his schedule was looking. It was hard to give us a firm date because so much of his work is outdoors, which of course relies on the weather to be good.
When it came time to do the work it was done quickly and very professionally. It took about six days over a week and a half (given that they weren't here on weekends or rainy days). There was no mess and very little disturbance to us, even though we both work from home. As the work progressed, George pointed out several issues that could only be seen once the floorboards had been removed. Fixing them added about $1000 to the cost, but I believe that if we'd gone with one of the other two contractors who hadn't been so thorough with their estimates, we would have had much more additional cost. Communication with George was always very clear and professional -- unlike many other contractors I've worked with! We were never confused about what he was doing or how much it would cost.
The only caveat about hiring George is that he is EXTREMELY busy! We were lucky to get him because we are located so close to his home base. I would recommend contacting him at least a year in advance if you can.

    Kennedy Carpentry Inc
Bill was the fourth guy we talked to about our structural reinforcement and floor leveling work. We were asking for what we thought we needed (jacking up the main beam). The first three guys talked to us about cost and liability, but Bill was the guy who said, "Sure, we can do that, but that's not really the best way to level a floor." When he was done explaining, it was obvious that his expertise was head and shoulders above the other guys we'd talked to. We hired him to remodel the kitchen as well.
I really can't say enough good things about Bill and his network of subcontractors. This is the largest work we've ever done to a house by about an order of magnitude. It's an intimidating job for us as customers to stay on top of all the decisions, life disruptions, and changing schedule. (He got about the most iron-clad excuse for a schedule slip as anyone's ever going to get -- city-wide terrorist manhunt.)
We felt that Bill worked very well with us through this process. He provided a very detailed quote that gave us a reference for what work was in the scope we agreed to and what would need to be negotiated separately. His team asked the right questions and dealt gracefully with the fact that we sometimes took forever to come up with an answer or changed our minds at the 11th hour. Everyone he brought in did fantastic work. The final product is about as close to perfect as you get in the real world.
We are already recommending him to our friends. It's no small thing to know a general contractor you trust.

I have not met yet with Mike McCormack, but I plan to update this review once we meet.  So far he has been responsive, friendly and accommodating to the difficulties of scheduling a home tour with several people (auctioneer, estate representative, etc).  He is not charging me for the first meeting.

Jon stopped by and gave us a clear plan for our porch rebuild, followed
up with an estimate we though was reasonable, we signed a contract, and
then the project kept being pushed further into the summer.
Now, over a year after our initial meeting, it's become impossible to get a hold of him to schedule the
work for this spring. He was really friendly and seemed to know what he
was doing, but after multiple emails and phone calls I've had no
response from him in the last 2 months.

    Hammer Construction LLC
Hammer Construction LLC, owner Leo Souza is a fraud. On Feb. 2013 my
parents (senior citizens) agreed and signed a contract with Hammer
Construction for approx. $46,000. The first 3 weeks he asked for money
to put a deposit down for the electrician, plumber and to begin
    purchasing supplies totaling 23,000.
The work was to build a 3rd
floor dormate and it covered demolition of the entire roof top, framing,
and completion of work. It took him more than a month to semi-complete
the demolition. In the meantime damages were incurring as the weather
was not cooperating. In addition to the 23,000 he took from my parents,
my husband and I find ourselves paying for the dumpster that were
included in the quote. We began pressuring him to do something.
Apparently he was desperately trying to find a framing company because
he had no employees. I quote "my contractor quit"!
    The beginning
of April, framers did come. They were amazing! In the meantime all the
materials that Leo claimed were in stock and paid for in Home Depot were
never there. Once again my husband and I are buying the materials.
Finally mid-April my husband forces him to provide us all the receipt to
account for the 23,000. Only one receipt from Home Depot of $2K, The
rest was itemized on a blank paper of $10,000 demolition, permit, one
dumpster (no receipt) and over $5k of a credit that he claimed he got
    from Home Depot and lost.
After this meeting; he no longer appeared and or called. He abandoned the framing company; the contract; everything.
We trespassed my mother's property; while my parents were staying with me to remove his belongings.
This person is a fraud. Do not use him.  We are planning to file suit.

I was just informed that the insurance information Mr. Leo Souza provided to the City was false. The policy number and contact does not exist. He also falsified my mother's name on the application to the city as well. This person is truly a scam artist. Do not use any of his services.
