Beautiful results. Everyone was very friendly and professional. Lindo was easy to reach when we needed to discuss details of the project. They were very committed to high quality. They painted one room's ceiling a second time at no extra charge (even though it looked perfect to my untrained eye). They said that pre-existing water damage in our house prevented it from coming out up to their standards the first time and that they wanted to put on an extra coat of paint.

We were impressed at every step of the way with Joe's knowledge and professionalism. He quickly understood our situation and was upfront about any potential problems we might run into. He supplied extra information to make sure that the members of our condo association got their questions answered. He communicated with us regularly about the project and his team was always friendly and professional. And our bathroom looks great - they did a truly exemplary job. We would definitely recommend Joe and his team to others.

    SILMAC Construction Inc.
Out of the three contractor quotes we got, Silmac was the only one who quoted just labor and then said they'd submit receipts for all materials (all bought from Home Depot). Really liked the transparency of costs for all materials. This also meant I could also occasionally source a specific item myself and just hand it to them to install. This was my first serious project working with a contractor, and I can say that Silmac made the process great. The company owner was helpful throughout the project, and the on-site project manager was easy to work with. Over the course of the project, we quickly learned to trust the project manager's decisions. This was particularly important as both our kitchen plans were a little light on the final details, and sometimes things were "discovered" along the way that required a quick decision to keep the project on track. The sub-contracted workers (plumbing, electrical, drywall installation, tiling, etc.) were all good. When there were minor issues with the work, Silmac took care of us fairly and ensured we were satisfied. Overall quality of the work was good. Going back to trusting them and their judgement, there were several parts of the project where Silmac actually suggested some things that were not originally in our plans which were great (specifically the computer nook and how to take advantage of additional space in a way we hadn't thought about). I really liked how their suggestions were always helpful, and every time I went along with their idea I was glad I did! I'm writing this review just over 6 months after the work was completed, and can confidently say we continue to be pleased. We would definitely recommend this contractor.

Jack and Michelle run a tight ship. This was the second time we had them back after a good experience with them refinishing our stairwells and hallways - a similar size job as this one. Their crews are always professional, punctual and open to any questions we have. Theyre receptive to feed back and responsive if any issues arise. We will definitely hire them back to finish the rest of the house.

    Escala Construction & Remodeling Corp
Given my architect's drawings, Ivaldo provided a very reasonable quote and stuck to it. There were several times where we needed to add on or make changes, and the price was always very reasonable for these upgrades. We also had some challenging foundation work and no room to bring in big equipment, and Ivaldo had a lot of experience dealing with these challenges, which played a big factor in hiring him. Later, we had some major scheduling issues with the utility company (Eversource) that complicated the schedule quite a bit, and were totally out of our control. These delays made the process somewhat stressful but none of this was any fault of Ivaldo's. His guys were courteous and respectful. Quality was also very good other than one issue with tiling, but Ivaldo will always make good on anything that you're not happy with. They'll get the job done, and charge you what it costs plus a reasonable rate for themselves. Overall, a full gut renovation is a major undertaking, and nobody should expect something this big to be smooth and stress-free. I have no regrets in hiring them and plan to call them back when the house needs work.

    Boston Premier Flooring LLC
It was excellent. We had a very short timeline, but Dan worked with us to figure out exactly what we wanted to do, and get it all done ahead of schedule. Everything was done meticulously, and it looked 1000 times better in the end. I only marked down responsiveness, because I kept getting confused whether we should communicate via text or email, and he kept switching. The price was fair, but a bargain - which is what you should pay for work of this caliber. I would recommend this business to anyone doing this kind of home repair!

    Higgins Floors LLC
While Higgins folks came on time and got the job done, when I reviewed it just before the finish went on I found some boards that needed to be replaced that they had not done (they did them) and also noticed some gaps between the boards -- something which was not there at all in the original floor. I was told that these were normal and would go away or at least get smaller in the warmer weather. The gaps stayed and grew, some wide enough to see the sub-floor, and Gareth (from Higgins) just sent me emails saying I could fill them with wood filler or run a humidifier (it's been raining for days, so that's not going to help). I am very sad about my floors now and while I used Higgins for refinish before and they did a reasonable job, I would NEVER recommend them again. They left my floor with wide ugly gaps that gather dirt, are unsightly, and they were not interested in doing anything about it. If you DO hire them, don't make that final payment until you are sure everything looks how it should.

He was prompt and came when he said he would. If he ever ran into an issue, he thoroughly described the problem, what he would do to fix it, and usually there was no extra cost. For instance, there was an issue where the sub-floor wasn't exactly level, but he was able to fix it so the tile flooring he installed lined up properly with the cabinets. He was really good with tile work and also installed a lovely glass tile backsplash.

He did a really good job and I would definitely use him again.

    Guild Construction Co
First of all, we are completely in love with the results and enjoy our new space! We spent a lot of time planning the space with Scott and it shows. Scott is very careful and meticulous with his work. He had a lot of good ideas for the space, as well as suppliers to use for kitchen cabinets and countertops. It was a big job and took some time (3.5 months), although maybe not more than you necessarily expect for a complete gut of the back end of a house built in the 1870s. It has a lot of "history," meaning there are lots of little things hiding where you can't see them (like asbestos)!  There was only one hiccup (and one that added some extra time): the original plumber backed out of the job last minute, but he was able to find someone else who did a terrific job. Overall, an A+ job and would most highly recommend Scott's services!
