    NEW Review and Update:

Back in 2013, I used Angie?s list to aid me in locating a new Dentist, and found Boylston Dental Associates operated by Dr. John Scanlon (DMD) at the time, and I am very satisfied with the Dental Care I've received there.  Approximately a year ago 2014, Dr. Scanlon decided to retire, and the Practice was acquired by Dr. John J. Millette (DMD PC DBA), a Tufts University Dental School Graduate, with over a decade of patient dental care experience.  On Dr. Millette?s first day of transition into taking over Boylston Dental Associates from Dr. Scanlon, I was very fortunate to be his very first patient to have a cap (crown) to replace a broken filling, and was amazed at the New Dental Technology experience he has brought and implemented at Boylston Dental Associates.  In my past experience, having a number of caps (crowns) and fillings at other dentists, amalgam was used mostly in all fillings, and a cap (crown) replacement took a minimum of two weeks (to have a porcelain, or metal cap or crown sent out to be made elsewhere), now at Boylston Dental Associates a cap or crown can be done in a day, approximately 2 hours for the crown prep, Digital Computer modeling and installation (all in the office), and no amalgam is used.  I continue to be very satisfied with the care I have received there since Dr. Millette has taken over, which has included: exams, digital X-rays, cleanings, fillings, and two caps or crowns.  Dr. Millette has incorporated into the practice a number of other Dental Associates, who administer dental care as well, as appointments are needed and available, such as Dr. Jonita Pishtari (DMD) also a Graduate of Tufts University Dental School.  From what I can see, it appears that few staff changes if any have taken place, since Dr. Millette has taken over, from the front office (front desk), to the most excellent care given by the Dental Hygienist, Andrea Kaufman (RDH).  In my last visit to have cap (crown) installed, it was not done by Dr. Millette, but by Dr. Carolyn Schweitzer (DDS) and Dental Assistant Lisa Johnson (an excellent Dental care team, in my opinion) who administered the Novocain shot, I needed, painlessly.  The procedure for this latest crown and minor filling was approximately 2 hours to complete, and is the second one I have had done there, with the same experience.   I have another appointment scheduled in August 2015, to have a broken crown (from a former Dentist) replaced by Dr. Schweitzer, and have every expectation that I will continue to be very pleased with the Dental Care I will receive.  Over the entire period that I have had Dental Care received by Boylston Dental Associates, I have not had any problems with Boylston Dental Coordinating benefits with my Medical & Dental insurance companies.   I continue to recommend the Boylston Dental Associates to any one looking for a Dentist, and personally still rate the practice an A+.

My family and I have been going to Bryan Dental for many years.  About 18 years ago, we were new to the area and had not yet selected a dentist.  One night, while out with friends at a restaurant, I broke a tooth.  The next AM, I called Bryan Dental and explained my situation. They squeezed me in so I could see Dr. Bryan right away.  Long story short, he fixed the tooth in very quick fashion.

My entire family has nothing but good things to say about Bryan Dental!

I've been to several of the dentists in the practice. It has been very positive. They are flexible and text me in advance to make sure I'm coming in. They are very helpful. I will continue to use them.

I have been using him for 30 years. He's totally professional; he's employees are great, the place is immaculate, he is right on top on anything that is new, and in 30 years, he has never caused me any pain. He goes out of his way to make sure no one is in pain.

I got braces with Dr. Levenson, as part of a six month smile program. When the braces failed to properly rotate a tooth, he had a set of invisilign trays made up, with no additional charge, which are working wonderfully. I appreciate that Dr. Levenson has the integrity to see the process through to the end! He's a very pleasant dentist, and is well-educated and quite experienced. The office is located in an older building in Worcester, which is my reason for the lower grade on this area. The office staff are all very friendly and professional, and it's been a pleasure to see them throughout the course of my treatment.

I have been to Modern Dentistry a few times since I moved to Shrewsbury in June 2013.  The front desk was very helpful in getting my dental records and I was up and running fairly quickly.
After the office received my records, scheduling was easy and I didn't have to wait for months and months like most dentist offices.  I have seen Drs. Messina and Pizzi and I feel I'm in good hands with either.  Dr. Messina did some fillings and Dr. Pizzi checked on the placement of my mouth guard in addition to giving me the clearance to go scuba diving.  Dr. Messina recommended that I ditch the permanent lower retainer that I had from years ago in favor of one that I use nightly.  Great recommendation - I don't know why I had a permanent one in the first place.  Cleanings are efficient and definitely not an endurance test.
The office is run very efficiently because I've never had to wait; the front desk staff is very friendly, and the office space is very clean and contemporary.  Definitely recommended.

They can be relatively expensive for regular dental work but they invest in the latest on-site technologies so there is no wait for results or next steps forward. There is a saying "you have to be willing to bleed, to be bleeding edge!"

After a long search for a new dentist on my own, I decided to give Angie's list a try, glad I did, and found Boylston Dental Associates, with Dr Scanlon (DMD), who has a special time set aside to scedule new patients fo him to perform their initial comprehensive dental exam and evaluatrion for a dental plan of care.  My experience after 3 visits (including my initial visit to secheule my first appointment) is:
        - The front office has a very personable, and Patient friendly staff,
        - Dr Scanlon is very personable, Patient FIRST oriented, highly capable, and professionally up-to-date in his practice, and discusses in detail the dental care proposed (along with the reason for it) and that you will receive, subject to your approval.
-The front office Accounts Billing will also work with your Dental Insurance to get pre-treatment estimates, and submit claims for dental care performed----so far there have been no surprises.
-I would recommend the Boylston Dental Associates to any one looking for a Dentist, and personally would give the practice an A+
-With my first visit to the practice I received an informational packet about the practice, policies, and all the dental services they are capable of providing.

Going there is good. I can't rate all the dentist there but the two dentist I've dealt with there over the years have been good and everything goes well. The dentist I see there is only a part-time so sometimes it's quite a problem for me personally, like if I go for cleaning and she's not there then I got to reschedule to see her if I have to or find another one but other than that, the treatment there was good, the staff is good and everything is good.

The best dentist I've ever had as far and probably will ever had. His chair-side manner is phenomenal. He is very calm, collective. He is very methodical with his dental work. He is very articulate. A lot of dentist that I've been to the past kind of little radical and kind of hyper-type feeling and nervous feeling. With him is unbelievable. He is very relaxed. He is very precise about giving your shots and I've never experienced any pain with the guy. I've never had problem with his availability. He always have enough staff and very efficient.
