    Kerivan-Lane, Inc.
I had a very complex project given the location of the propane tank and how complicated it was to get a range hood installed up to code to allow for the gas stove. Chris from Kerivan went above and beyond the scope of his job to help me find carpenters, hvac folks, and electricians in order to get it done. He spent months helping me coordinate before I ever paid him a done as his work has to be last, and the beat a very aggressive timetable when it was finally time for his guys to do their work. He had the project done before Easter so we could cook and host. Hes top notch and I would recommend to anyone.

Clear Water Pump & Well Service, Inc.
Dave and Paul of Clear Water Pump & Well Service, Inc. were here less than 15 minutes and the issue was found to be a bad pump, with tree roots growing around it. Within a short time they installed a new pump and I could not be more happy. They were both courteous, professional, very knowledgeable, and happily answered all my questions. I would highly recommend this company! Great customer experience.

    Coan Inc
Coan was the most prompt in coming out to quote, and out of three the best priced. Installation date was too long- more than 30 days, but when team arrived early on day of installation they were very professional and got the job done in 1 1/2 days vs 2 allocated. Cleanup was very thorough. We had work inspected by Mass Save and were told the job was very well done. We have now a a very quiet dependable, 3 zone boiler and plenty of very hot water. We have since received a letter from Coan thanking us for our business and telling us to be sure to contact them if there are any problems. Would definitely recommend without reservation.

    Olde Colony Clean Water Inc
Don from Olde Colony was incredibly responsive, diligent, professional and flexible, and identified and installed a water filtration system that both filtered out impurities and eliminated our hard water. I had reached out to two other water companies previously that either didn't return my calls or failed to follow-up after running a water test, until I fortunately came across Olde Colony. There is a reason Don and the others at Olde Colony get such great reviews - I recommend them highly and was completely satisfied with the service.

    Reliable Well And Pump
A few years back I had lightening hit my well head and burn out my motor. After the repair, the local well company failed to seat the well cover properly and I noticed that some of the wiring was damaged.  I had no confidence in them and sought an alternative.
Tom replaced the well-head and installed new wiring and even had my water tested. He was efficient, focussed and delivered. He is the consumate professional. Getting the job right is more important than anything else. I was very impressed.  I taped his card to my water tank.
It was no surprise that he was the first person I called when I saw air in all my water supply and saw that my water pressure was dropping. I researched possible causes and could not figure this one out. Tom accurately diagnosed the problem as a line break from my well to my house. He needed to dig through the concrete floor, dig out gravel and concrete, cut out the leaking pipe and replace it.  He improved on the way the pipe feed into the basement was routed. He even fixed a leaking pressure value. He improved on everything he touched. He exceeded my expectations. Back to a working water supply !!! From the time he set foot on my property until the time he left, he was focussed on the leak.  A wrong diagnosis would have cost me thousands in new pumps, well castings, etc. and left me with the same problem.
Tom is an expert in what he does. He is Phi Beta Kappa on wells. He is upbeat, positive, efficient and skilled. He did a great job (again) and I would recommend him without reservation.

    Gentile Plumbing & Heating
    On 12/7
I was having new countertops installed in my home and I contacted Mark A. Gentile to disconnect my plumbing. I asked him to reconnect my plumbing after the new countertops and sinks were installed. I found Mark by searching Home Advisor and Angle's List. I selected Mark because of his past rating/evaluations and because he lived locally, just a few miles away. locality.
Mark correctly assessed that I would need all new plumbing in the kitchen in order to accommodate the new sink and quoted me $900.00. That was more expensive than the $600 and $700 quotes I had, but the scope of the work was going to be greater.
Mark came to my house on Monday 12/7 and it took him about two hours to disconnect my kitchen sink and four other bathroom sinks. Mark cut the copper hot/cold connections to the sink and the drain after turning off the water. He disconnected the disposal.
After I removed the sinks, I unscrewed the Formica counter tops and removed them as well.
When cutting the sinks from the upstairs kids bathroom, Mark found a leaking valve control. I had to shut off the main water supply to stop it while he fixed it. Mark stopped the leak temporarily by reversing the rubber washer. He said it was a "trick of the trade." Well, I had my doubts so I put a pan under the sinks and sure enough, they continued to leak. That would have really s**ked because I had just painted the room below that sink.
    On 12/10
Mark returned on the 10th with his son, Clinton. Clinton is working towards being a master plumber. I was very pleased with Clintons work. He will make an outstanding plumber. Ultimately I gave Clinton an "A" and his Dad an "F" so it averaged out to a "C".
My counter contractor failed to deliver the kitchen faucet so I went to home depot and purchase a Delta kitchen faucet. at 7:00 am that morning. When Mark saw it he screamed that I would have to return it as it would not fit the whole on the granite. Fortunately, his son suggested that it might and we should give it a try. It did fit and his son was able to cut out all of the old plumbing and install new plumbing (plastic pipe) and the faucet. He did a nice job.
Reinstalling the disposal was a problem as the new sink required an additional mounting flange. Mark said that it would never work but Clinton, Mark's son suggested an extender or, at least, the bolts for an extender in order to prevent long term
leaking. Mark went to the hardware store and got the bolts. It worked fine. The sink has not leaked.
When installing the bathroom faucets, Mark insisted that all the faucet units be returned because they were poorly engineered. I informed him that the Delta faucets I had selected were one of the top models Delta sold and the customer satisfaction was off the charts. He said he did not care. He was not happy with the new sinks either (under mount below the granite with deep bowls). Mark was critical of new designs (although they were really not new). Mark said that the faucets would leak and you could not tighten them enough. I called Delta Faucet for technical help and one of their suggestions was that we make sure the we use silicon because its adhesive properties would help. This was also in the installation directions. Mark started screaming that one of the faucets was not shipped until I informed him that I had installed it in the upstairs bedroom to make sure it would fit.
Because the granite vendor cut the holes for the faucet too close to the backsplash to use the popup, I went of to purchase an additional popups that do not connect to the faucet. Mark screamed that these would not work because the cover was not in the shape of the sink. I had called the sink vendor and gave him the model number of the Delta popup and he said that indeed they would work. Mark went to install one and it leaked. He said that they should be returned. However, his son pointed out that he had the washer in backwards and after he corrected it, it worked fine and did not leak.
Mark seemed uncomfortable with modern plumbing. His son seemed much more comfortable with modern plumbing.
Mark gave me his opinion, on a great many things, whether I was interested in hearing it or not..
Once I paid Mark, he communicated that if I did have any problems after he left, they were mine to solve and not his.
    So far nothing is leaking.

Northboro Septic Service, Inc. dba Curtis Septic
Exceeded my expectations. This is a very professional firm, which is not, IMO, not what you often find in the Septic business. They answered all my technical questions before installing the box, which had corroded and deteriorated. They delivered on what they promised. They used a lightweight BobCat backhoe which left no footprint on my lawn which I greatly appreciated and they did a great job cleaning up. You would not know they were there. They were clearly very knowledgeable about state septic regulations. Their communications were always excellent. I could not be happier. I would recommend them without any reservations.

    S & W Tile
I asked them if my job was too small for them and they insisted it was not. Before coming to my house, the provider, S&W Tile, asked me to provide pictures of the bathroom, which I did. They missed the first appointment and had to reschedule. At no time did they mention a charge for coming up with a written quote. It was clear after looking at the bathroom, Wes O'Connor (617) 785-5128 went into a long sales pitch as to why I needed all new wall tile, a new shower stall and why I should spend, at least, $15,000 - $20,000 with him. When I asked him for a quote just for the bathroom tile floor, he said that he had to provide a minimum because he would need two workers. It was clear all along that he was only interested in big jobs. His verbal quote was double what 4 others were quoting. He insisted that I pay him $75.00 for this verbal quote, which I did. I found him to be highly unprofessional.  He is, in my opinion, untrustworthy.

From the start, Sila was very responsive, attentative, professional, patient, and punctual. They emailed me back right away, came to my house to next day to do an assessment of my needs and an estimate of the work. They gave me options, answered a lot of questions (I had an inordinate amount of questions because I like to do my own research and Sila was nice and patient with me), and when I decided what I wanted they came and installed everything within a couple of days. Everyone we spoke with was pleasant and professional. They used almost all Lennox products, so the price was a little higher than using a no-name brand, but I believe the better warranty and great reputation is worth spending a little extra. I would recommend Sila without hesitation.

    Nord Plumbing & Heating
Perfect. He came to my house to assess the work that needed to be done, clearly outlined my options, gave me sound advice, and was back within days to execute the work. His work was clean, efficient, and there were no surprises. Outstanding service, and a decent guy.
