Hazard Remediation reviews in Sherborn

    ASAP Environmental Inc
ASAP has been very quick to respond, and have generally been available to perform inspections on very short notice. When I called them a few years ago to set up a mold inspection to take place at the same time as a buyer's home inspection, they recommended waiting until after the home inspector's evaluation, to see if there was any reason to conduct a follow-up mold test. The home inspector did not see any evidence of possible mold at the house, so we did not schedule a mold test. This showed me that---by turning down a request for a mold inspection with ASAP until the home inspector's evaluation---they have the integrity to walk away from an appointment request from a ready, willing, and able customer until there is reasonable evidence there could be mold at a property. This took money out of ASAP's pockets, and kept that money in the pockets of my buyers. I have hired ASAP many times before and since this episode. Their rapid response, professionalism, and willingness to put consumers' financial interests ahead of their own are three reasons I will continue to recommend them to my buyers and sellers.

    Radon Diagnostic Services
The design that was proposed at the initial visit for the estimate ended up being problematic when the technicians came to do the actual installation. It was only with my help that they were able to solve the problem. I was convalescing from knee surgery so it was somewhat inconvenient for me to have to get up and out to figure out the situation. It ended up all right in the end; they did good work with no mess. The post-installation test confirmed a significant reduction in the level of radon gas in the basement of our house.

Tried to call and email this provide about 10 times.  Mailbox is full and not responding to emails.  Perhaps they went out of business or on some type of hiatus, but at least provide an automatic response.  Going elsewhere.

Amiable two brothers. at first.   Owner worked in cellar and stated he was a mold expert and could do what was needed for an additional fee. Other brother painted two short walls and 2 half walls, plus window frames.  Walls were ok.  Windows painted shut and excess paint on glass left for me to do.  Came another day to do one large exterior wall and patch stucco.  That was done well.  BUT, afterwards I found that a weather cap on outdoor faucet was broken off.    WHen they atttempted to replace some up/down window shades on painted interior windows, one was put back , while the other was broken.  Had to replace both so they would match.
He refused to give me receipts for the materials he purchased to do the job.  I needed a copy to add to my home repairs list as am selling my house.  Never got them.  He gave me a bill and did not indicate or acknowledge that he was already paid the $100 from the Angie list offer.     The shades lost were $125 each and I had to replace them with $50 ones as had no time to reorder the up/down ones.    The exterior paint job did not involve shielding the door sills from spilled paint, so that clean up awaits me.
I later found he had taken a half filled bag of trash into cellar to put his painting trash in.  He then left it outside without taking it to the bins and animals scattered other trash everywhere.  He left two moldy cartons there as well instead of taking them to the barrels and did not clean up a messy garage where he left the remnants of painting for me to clear up.
I have no idea what I paid for the materials as he would not itemize, so maybe they are being used on another job.  I felt he was doing things under the table to my detriment.  I would advise to get any additional work suggested in writing with a proper proposal which I was at fault for not insisting on; he kept adding suggestions with scattered pricing and do believe he felt I was 76 so could be addled and I paid him less than what he finally decided was fair and more than he should have been paid,  The work done on exterior wall was done well but I still have to replace the broken faucet so that will involve more money for me to pay out due to his sloppiness.     He did ask me to remove my comments to you but I feel others will be fleeced so will make this one.

The no breaking down of costs and supplies (for the mold) is annoying me as accountant wants that,  I provided the paint supplies.  Am attempting once again to request receipts and breakdown.

We had an accepted offer on a house right before Thanksgiving. Morgan was able to schedule the inspection on short notice right before the holiday. Office staff was polite and helpful, sending us important documents via email prior to the appointment. Morgan was also able to work with our tight schedule by setting up the radon testing equipment the day before the appointment so that the testing would be completed more quickly. We selected Morgan for our home inspection based on good online reviews, and the reviews were spot on. I was impressed by Morgan's professionalism as well as the thoroughness of his inspection (plus, he's just a really nice guy). There wasn't a single crevice in that house that he didn't go over with a fine tooth comb! The inspection took probably about 4 hours, and Morgan took pictures of everything. I was exhausted just watching the guy. Morgan's report followed a few days later via email, and I was blown away by the level of detail. Based on Morgan's findings, we got an additional $20,000 from the sellers as well as a termite treatment out of the deal.
Finally, I just want to add that since we purchased this home, we've completely gutted it. Everything in Morgan's report was pretty much spot on. We've had a few surprises during the renovation, but they could only be discovered by ripping open all the walls. Morgan will tell you pretty much everything there is to know short of taking the house down to the studs! Worth every penny. You get what you pay for.
