    MJM Construction
MJM construction showed up early and worked non-stop all day everyday until the project was complete. High heat did not slow them down, their work and attention to detail was excellent and I'm very happy with the finished product.

    MDB Construction Co
Project #1: Sill Replacement We first contracted with MDB Construction at the end of last summer after the minor termite damage at our new house turned out to be a much more significant problem than originally thought. Having just fired one contractor for incompetence and lying; and getting an astronomical quote from another; MDB was exactly what we were looking for. The trouble with sill work is that you can't see most of it; so the previous quotes couldnt possibly be accurate. But knowing he couldn't see all the damage, and unwilling to guess and be wrong, MDB Owner Mike Burgess proposed 2 things first he would replace one portion of damaged sill since it was sitting exposed to the elements (from the previous contractor); and second, he would do a full exploration of the rest of the house in order to determine the true extent of the damage. He proposed removing two courses of shingles and the sheathing to reveal the sills. This would allow him to give us an accurate quote so that the expenses wouldn't keep adding up with unforeseen problems. He would provide a report giving us the real scope of the job, not just guesswork. After the exploration and report wed be free to hire him again for the larger job, or hire someone else. We accepted his proposal for the partial repair and exploration job, and then (happily, and with much relief) accepted his very reasonable and thorough bid for the larger job. The job went extremely well. Mike's crew - led by his son, Tyler - replaced 65% of the total sills on our home, plus 4 support columns on a sun room addition, and a few joists. The crew was very easy to work with and Tyler was both knowledgeable and professional. He was great about keeping us up-to-date on the status of the work or any issues that came up. The crew was respectful and considerate at all times. They worked hard (and quicker than I would have expected) and their work was outstanding. Further, they were all good people whose personal and professional integrity was never in question. Project #2: Basement Refinishing After a great experience with MDB in the fall we hired them again to refinish our basement. Once again owner Mike Burgess was outstanding in working with us to come up with design and pricing options that would fit our needs. With a plan in place and the contract signed, day-to-day overseeing of the project once again fell to Tyler Burgess who, together with his fantastic crew, turned a concrete box of a basement into a real living space (new walls, ceiling, floors, doors, and more). It was great to see all the same faces from the fall (no revolving door of workers here) working hard to bring our project to life. Tyler was great about coming up with ideas and solutions for some unique aspects of the job (fireplace issues, poles, weird closets, etc). And when a delay with an outside heating contractor threatened to derail the time table, Mike was right there to come up with a workable solution to keep things on track (that's what decades of experience gets you!). MDB Construction is the real deal. You will not be disappointed if you hire them. I have no doubt that if a future project came up, MDB would be our first call. Note: Photo #4 shows completed basement. Painting and fireplace refinishing were not part of our contract and will be done at a later date. MDB fashioned two basic columns next to the fireplace for ease of access to necessary plumbing for wood to gas fireplace conversion.

    Northshore Window & Siding
Everything went really well from start to finish. Jim and his crew were friendly and professional and we're very happy with the work. This was a big exterior project: new vinyl siding, replacement windows, new front door and sidelights, new door surround, storm doors, gutters and construction of exterior stairs and deck. Jim worked with us to help keep some of the historic architectural elements of our home that other contractors wanted to side over, while also helping to give us a maintenance free exterior. Our home is over 150 years old, nothing is square or plumb and it's wedged in between the neighboring houses. In fact, to even get to two sides of our house, the crew had to work in 3 other neighbors yards, but they did a fantastic job and made sure that everyone involved was happy- even our neighbors. I have recommended their services several times already and would use them again if needed.

    Our House
Really well. Although it took longer than anticipated because rot discovered once gutting began, there was always forward progress. This is a highly professional group. They listened to my concerns and did a redesign that successfully solved several problems. Cost was higher than anticipated because of hidden rot. Phenomenal craftsmanship, especially the woodwork. I have worked with other contractors and this company is SO much better than those others that they are in a class of their own. Good people who do good solid work.

    Palmer Innovative Construction
Tyler did an exceptional job on every task, big or small. From fixing cabinet doors and drawers that didn't close properly to fixing a ceiling that had cracked and was sagging (had to install a brace in the attic for support), renovated two bathrooms (one standard and one redesign), replaced interior and exterior doors...Tyler can do it all. When plumbing and electrical were required he brought in people just as capable as he is. As an individual he is honest, sincere and hard working. I gave him keys to my house so he could work on it when I was away and he even kept an eye on my dog, making sure she never got out while he was there.

I almost hate to recommend this business because, as more people use the services, it will be harder for me to get him to work for me.

E B Window And Siding Co
EB window and siding was thorough from day one! I met with one of the owners, who gave property assessment and reviewed all work necessary. Gave the best estimate for maximum work at a fair price. Workers are licensed and insured. Siding quality, shutter quality and door quality excellent. Also very efficient in getting estimates for work back to you in a timely manner , materials and work done in the time estimated. Once the project began, the home was the priority of EB window and workers were professional and paid attention to important details. A few pieces that were ordered came in with defects from the manufacture, and workers made sure they sent back to the company and not used Which is a testament to quality work and providing superior service.

I also had electricians and contractors taking care of other details needed to improve the property, and EB window worked nicely with the contractors to make updates/repairs a smooth transition.

I highly recommend them, as even after the project is complete their office is open and available for assistance!

Thanks Ed and Kathy for helping me turn a fixer upper into a dream home!

Eugene does great work.  He's professional, shows up on time, and works very hard throughout the entire day.  I've merged two visits into one review.  After he worked the whole day, painting and fixing a window, I asked him to come back and refinish our front door.  It now looks beautiful.  Eugene started in  the morning, it took at least about four hours,  but needed a second coat. Eugene came back around dinner time the same day to accommodate my schedule.  Thanks Eugene, you obviously take a lot of pride in your work!

    Heath's Seaside Services
Heath returned my first call for an estimate right away.  The estimate was very fair. Heath got the job. He arrived on time and showed great attention to detail. The prep work on the decks was outstanding. I highly recommend Heath - he takes great pride in his work and it shows. I would not hesitate to call him for more repairs.

    Tim Carnevale General Contractor
From the very beginning, Tim was ultra professional. His quote was very reasonable and the
work began the day he said it would. He subbed out the plaster and tile work
and both of those contractors were just as good. The bathroom needed to expand
into an adjacent bedroom closet, of which Tim built a new closet as well as a
second closet across the room. In the end the bathroom came out beautiful as
did the two closets. We were so pleased with Tims work that we hired him to
remodel our downstairs bathroom, install new hardwood floors and demolish an
old coat closet and expand it into a double coat/pantry closet. Again the work
was extremely high quality. He used the same plasterer and tiler. During the
job, Tim also replaced baseboards and window mouldings and installed six new
doors. Our home looks better than it ever has with family saying it looks like
a different house. We are planning to give Tim more projects to work on after
the holidays and look forward to the same level of professional and talent. The
most important part is if Tim says he is going to be there at a certain time,
he is there. No delays, no cancellations and he returns phone calls better than
any contractor we have ever worked with.

It went very well beginning with the initial meeting with Steve Ventola -- very professional and excellent explanation of the process.  Installation day arrived as promised with Steve and Dave and 4 other installers arriving on time and ready to work.
Installation of  windows and storm doors was completed as promised.  No problems, excellent cleanup.  I would not hesitate to hire this company again!
