The company did an amazing job. Workers were professional and clean. The work was due to wear and tear and bad construction for a property I bought. The restored the wall and saved me a lot of heartache. They came back after work was done and cleaned everything and made sure I had all the paperwork I needed. Very nice people.

It took a while to schedual the first meet, he is super busy. He was 15 minutes early and was irritated that I pulled up right after I pulled in. He started out the conversation with lets not waste each others time. I can't do the job until the winter. He clearly was knowledgable and I believe he would be honest. I didn't choose him because I got a good quote for another company who could start right away and treated me in a smoother maner.

We had a very unique basement water situation - part of our house was built on ledge and all winter and spring we lived with a pool of water on that ledge, which we had to pump out daily. We had half a dozen waterproofing companies come out and basically no one would touch this with a ten foot pole. Not a single company came up with a viable solution and many simply never called us back. Until John Lapan. He came up with a plan to lay drain pipes on the ledge that would tie into the main cellar's existing drainage system, instill a sump pump, and cover the entire ledge with concrete. He did say the project was a bit like using a sledgehammer on a tack, but to us, it was essential because it took what was an incredibly stressful situation and simply eliminated it. Not only was the water issue resolved, but what was once dead space became functional storage space. The photos attached show the before and after photos. This was not a small project - it took about a week and involved a team of workers, all of whom were incredibly professional and polite. For his creative problem solving and outstanding professionalism, Lapan deserves every praise I can offer. I am remiss in not posting this review until now, but I can say that it has been one year since the work was done and we have not had a drop of water in the basement. This winter was so much less stressful than last! We still speak often about how much we appreciate Lapan's work and what a difference it made in our home.

Project #1: Sill Replacement We first contracted with MDB Construction at the end of last summer after the “minor” termite damage at our new house turned out to be a much more significant problem than originally thought. Having just fired one contractor for incompetence and lying; and getting an astronomical quote from another; MDB was exactly what we were looking for. The trouble with sill work is that you can't see most of it; so the previous quotes couldn’t possibly be accurate. But knowing he couldn't see all the damage, and unwilling to guess and be wrong, MDB Owner Mike Burgess proposed 2 things – first he would replace one portion of damaged sill since it was sitting exposed to the elements (from the previous contractor); and second, he would do a full exploration of the rest of the house in order to determine the true extent of the damage. He proposed removing two courses of shingles and the sheathing to reveal the sills. This would allow him to give us an accurate quote so that the expenses wouldn't keep adding up with unforeseen problems. He would provide a report giving us the real scope of the job, not just guesswork. After the exploration and report we’d be free to hire him again for the larger job, or hire someone else. We accepted his proposal for the partial repair and exploration job, and then (happily, and with much relief) accepted his very reasonable and thorough bid for the larger job. The job went extremely well. Mike's crew - led by his son, Tyler - replaced 65% of the total sills on our home, plus 4 support columns on a sun room addition, and a few joists. The crew was very easy to work with and Tyler was both knowledgeable and professional. He was great about keeping us up-to-date on the status of the work or any issues that came up. The crew was respectful and considerate at all times. They worked hard (and quicker than I would have expected) and their work was outstanding. Further, they were all good people whose personal and professional integrity was never in question. Project #2: Basement Refinishing After a great experience with MDB in the fall we hired them again to refinish our basement. Once again owner Mike Burgess was outstanding in working with us to come up with design and pricing options that would fit our needs. With a plan in place and the contract signed, day-to-day overseeing of the project once again fell to Tyler Burgess who, together with his fantastic crew, turned a concrete box of a basement into a real living space (new walls, ceiling, floors, doors, and more). It was great to see all the same faces from the fall (no revolving door of workers here) working hard to bring our project to life. Tyler was great about coming up with ideas and solutions for some unique aspects of the job (fireplace issues, poles, weird closets, etc). And when a delay with an outside heating contractor threatened to derail the time table, Mike was right there to come up with a workable solution to keep things on track (that's what decades of experience gets you!). MDB Construction is the real deal. You will not be disappointed if you hire them. I have no doubt that if a future project came up, MDB would be our first call. Note: Photo #4 shows completed basement. Painting and fireplace refinishing were not part of our contract and will be done at a later date. MDB fashioned two basic columns next to the fireplace for ease of access to necessary plumbing for wood to gas fireplace conversion.

Everyone at Rescon was responsive, punctual, and professional. The French drain and pump system they installed seems solid through a few rainstorms that inevitably require a good pump to stay ahead of the water table.  Before the installation, I would have some puddling to clean up 2-3 times a year.  Nine months later - basement is completely dry. Bethany Murch was a pleasure to work with.

I called twice and left a message for an estimate on a fall cleanup and snow removal services.  I wrote an email as well.  I never heard back from anyone.  At least have the professional courtesy to respond, even if you don't want the job.

Taskmasters owner David, showed up as scheduled for the initial estimate and scheduled the work promptly once we gave him the approval. The crew showed up in force and began the work on time. It was clear that David and his crew knew what they are doing; most importantly the men in the crew were very respectful. They finished on time and David did a final walk through at which time when we pointed out a couple of minor details, he remedied them immediately. BTW, the bath rooms were wire lathed mud job tiles which is extremely difficult to demo. Kudos, well done!

The work was completed exactly as we had hoped. We strongly recommend Avico Mason Contractors. The thought and care that went into meeting the needs for our basement water problems and deck tiling were exemplary. We couldn't be more satisfied with the result and the cost.

Began project on time, finished on time (working around weather issues), thoroughly explained every step of the process and came in close to budget. Tom and Brad are very personable, work very hard and clearly know what they are doing.

From the very beginning, Tim was ultra professional. His quote was very reasonable and the
work began the day he said it would. He subbed out the plaster and tile work
and both of those contractors were just as good. The bathroom needed to expand
into an adjacent bedroom closet, of which Tim built a new closet as well as a
second closet across the room. In the end the bathroom came out beautiful as
did the two closets. We were so pleased with Tim’s work that we hired him to
remodel our downstairs bathroom, install new hardwood floors and demolish an
old coat closet and expand it into a double coat/pantry closet. Again the work
was extremely high quality. He used the same plasterer and tiler. During the
job, Tim also replaced baseboards and window mouldings and installed six new
doors. Our home looks better than it ever has with family saying it looks like
a different house. We are planning to give Tim more projects to work on after
the holidays and look forward to the same level of professional and talent. The
most important part is if Tim says he is going to be there at a certain time,
he is there. No delays, no cancellations and he returns phone calls better than
any contractor we have ever worked with.
