Hot & Cold Plumbing & Heating LLC
We received a few quotes on the work. Hot and Cold's plumbing was very competitive. Moreover, other local services said that it was a 2 person job. Hot and Cold did the job with 1 man within the time and at the lower end of the range of quote. His materials cost was extremely reasonable as well. I found Hot and Cold to be very respectful, polite and dutiful. Hot and Cold worked very hard. I'm not sure he took a break and never imposed on us for anything. He communicated where he ran into challenges and on the progress of the work. He also worked a little harder to keep from needing to cut into our cabinetry to get to our pipes--we had communicated to him this was OK, but on his own initiative he kept the impact of his work to a minimum. We're already trying to line Hot and Cold for more work. As first time home owners, working with them is easy, transparent, and very professional.

Mark and his team worked diligently and the job was massive. Their expertise and craftsmanship are excellent. I highly recommend you hire Mark and his team. I will use them for all future projects. Note: They are highly responsive, which in itself is difficult to find these days.

    Wayne's Drains
Excellent. Because it was the drain to the street, when the cap to the drain was to be taken off, there was a chance that some smelly liquid could come into the basement. The Serviceman kept a shop vac at the cap so that as he loosened it, the liquid would be picked up. That kept the cleanup effort after to a minimum and was much appreciated.

John's Sewer & Pipe Cleaning Inc
Ww had a backed up sewer pipe.  Technician was at our place within the 3 hours quoted.   The technician was efficient and thorough.  He had the sewer drain cleared and was cleaned up in about an hour.

    Adams Plumbing Services
I contacted Mark because i had a few issues - garbage disposal not working, shower pull on handle detached from unit, some drain clogging in bath and shower. He called me back quickly and in our first conversation offered several suggestions on things I could do or try myself before engaging his services. WHO DOES THAT THESES DAYS? As it turns out, the only issue needing Mark's services was the replacement of my garbage disposal. We spoke on 5/20/15 about arranging a date for him to perform the work. He suggested 5/21 and when I indicated that was not a good date, he asked for a few minutes to try to rearrange his schedule so he could perform the work that same day. he called me back within 15 minutes to say he would be coming over with the half hour. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS? He arrived when he said he would, did the work quickly and professionally, including a minor repair to a dishwasher hose. My final cost was $400. A previous estimate i had received from another plumber who did some emergency repairs was $750. Don't have any plumbing work done without trying Mark first. He's on my list to contact in the future if necessary.

    Rhino Rooter
Failed to do the job the first day, had to bring them back the next day, and while they finally cleared the blockage, they failed to cap the pipe, which left me with a leak.  I tightened the cap and the leak finally stopped, but I was very unhappy with two failures of service in a row.

Although they arrived a little late, a quick call was all it took for them to arrive promptly. They were professional and courteous, and explained the work. They also answered other questions we had. The whole process took 20-30 minutes, so wished it was a little cheaper, but they mentioned the Angie's List coupon. Will hire them again for sure!

    Cooling Unlimited Inc
Apparently Cooling Unlimited must be generating so much business from Angie's List and elsewhere that they do not need new business.  I moved into Reading from out of state a few months ago and turned on the air conditioning for the first time yesterday.  Although the system is working to cool the house, I noticed a puddle of water under the air handler on the concrete floor in the basement, which apparently is not uncommon and can simply be a clogged drain pipe that is causing the condensed water to spill out of the unit.  I looked on Angie's List and found the very strong reviews for Cooling Unlimited and gave them a call.  The person answering the phone, Mary Ellen, was very nice and told me that she would have the "scheduler" (forget her name Martha? Carla?) call me back to schedule an appointment as she was tied up on the phone.  About 5 hours later, after not hearing from anyone, I called back again and Martha?/Carla? got on the phone.  After I described my issue, she simply said, "Yeah, I'm not going to be able to get anyone out there to help you...." and then there was silence.  I was waiting for her to say something like "until next week" or whatever.  But it was just dead silence.  So I said "Uhhhh.  OK?"  Finally, she said, "Maybe if you want to wait until the end of next week I might be able to get someone out there".  But she was clearly not interested in this new customer.
So, I can't speak for their actual service, only their customer service, which was very poor.  If I hadn't called back the second time, I'm certain that she never would have called me back.  What is irritating is that if they had just told me when I called the first time that they were very busy and couldn't make it out to me for several days then I would have saved 5 hours waiting for a return call that never came.  If you are a potential new customer, I suggest you look elsewhere.

    All Drain Service Inc
Initial phone contact, Michelle, was clear and professional, gave me a price and scheduled a time convenient for me. On the day, Chino showed up a bit early. He was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and thorough. He cleared the drain, which was not easy, and left me a before-and-after DVD. I would absolutely recommend All Drain Inc. to anyone with drain issues.

    Wayne's Drains
We had a backed up drain on a Saturday night and needed emergency service. After calling several places and getting answering services, we found Waynes on Angies List. The plumber who came out called to keep us informed of when we could expect him, and even skipped dinner to work on our drains (it was late night by the time he arrived and he had been on the job since 6.30 that morning, so this really was great service!).
He did an excellent job, went out of his way to be helpful, was very pleasant even though he must have been exhausted and cleaned up nicely even though it was after midnight before he finished.
    I would highly recommend them.
