    Perry Brothers Construction
The initial job was for the porch to be rebuilt. Upon construction of the porch, the crew found a major safety issue with the roof deck. That added a change order to rebuild the roof deck over the porch. The crew tackled the roof, then continued with the porch. In addition some foundation work was also needed after the demo of the porch. I cant say enough about the crew that worked on the job. Scott, Tony, Mike, were on time, professional, and took great pride in their work. They really did a great job. Bill Perry was great to work with and was in constant communication with me during the project. It was nice to work with a project team that really cared about the customer and making sure we were satisfied.

    Rescon Basement Solutions
I have previously reviewed Rescon very highly - Kathy is the main contact and is great, as was as all the work they had done previous to the concrete floor they poured. I figured they had done a great job with the vapor barrier, the french drain installation, and incapsulating a small crawl space that I would pay a bit more to have them pour a 400 sq ft 4" concrete slab as well. It needed to be done. They showed up on time as they always did, but the concrete pour itself looked shoddy from the start. They seemed to be fumbling around when they arrived, while I was there before work it looked like they hadn't secured the plastic barrier down very well before pouring and were just kind of sloppy overall. I had to go to work though and figured they would get it right in the end. When I got home It didn't take long to realize the entire floor was out of level. There were also two large dips in the floor that wouldn't have been able to be tiled. In all other spots I laid down a 5ft level and it was all out of whack. After calling Kathy (she was not in charge of this crew) she had somebody come over and pour leveling concrete in the two large dips which helped some. However I needed to buy another $300 of leveling concrete (stuff is $35 a bag) and fix the job myself before the finish floor went down. It just left a bad taste in my mouth after they had done such a good job in all the previous jobs. I would not recommend hiring them to do concrete.

    The Bulkhead Man Incorporated
Joe and his partner Mike obviously take great pride in their work. He responded to calls and emails promptly and was always in touch between the times he took the initial measurements and finished the job. The workmanship on the concrete work, painting, color-matching etc was spectacular, and the clean-up was comprehensive. They would not leave until we had gone over all the particulars of operation and maintenance and had been assured that I was happy with the job. That night it rained and I was thrilled to see not a drop of moisture inside the bulkhead. Joe will be coming back to do some work on the inside stairway and door at the bottom of the bulkhead stairs. Although he typically doesn't do doors and stairs, if the work is associated with a bulkhead installation Joe will follow through and make sure the whole area is functional and attractive. It was a pleasure to have these guys working on my property. They are friendly, considerate and extremely accommodating to all our needs and requests.

    JEO MASONRY & TILE
John was awesome. I called him in a real bind (I had a couple things I was trying to line up - walkway/driveway/hydroseeding, and I needed someone to do the sidewalk immediately). Despite it being a ridiculously busy time for him, right before a holiday weekend, he squeezed in our job. He brought a crew, all respectful, and mindful of cleaning up. He was meticulous and made sure he got it how I wanted it. I'm so grateful, and will definitely use him in the future. Highly recommend.

Firstly, not only did Jason show up on time for our initial estimate, he actually called to see if he could come early.  He was very through and knowledgeable about the process and let us ask all the questions we needed without rushing us.  He put together a quote quickly after the first visit.  We actually did not get any additional quotes.  We had read such good things on Angie's list and his quote was less than we expected (I put $6500 but I can't remember what it was exactly it may have been a few hundred less) so we just went with them.  While doing the work, the crew showed up on time everyday with Jason always there.  They finished the work in the time quoted and there were no surprises.   We wanted to wait until we had a few storms before giving a review to make sure everything was done well.  Now that we have gone through a few heavy rains and snow melts, I can say that the basement is completely dry and the sump pump (and french drain) is working as we had hoped.  We ultimately want to finish the basement but didn't want to do it unless we knew it would remain dry and not get moldy.  We have full confidence now that we can finish it without worry.  Jason and his crew are great and I would recommend them to anyone looking to make sure they have a dry basement!

It was excellent. It's a great company. They did a very nice job for us and we were very pleased. They were very helpful in the selection of the materials and the actual layout of the steps and the walkway. Overall, it was a good experience.

    Land Solutions
It basically started with Darryl coming over and giving me an estimated for what I thought I wanted and ended with something much better. Darryl worked with me to create an area that my family truly enjoys. The concrete patio is stunning. We have gotten so many compliments on it. The excavation of the pool area worked out great. It is an above ground pool but the top of the pool is level with the yard so it looks like an underground pool. The cement skirt poured at the base of the foundation stopped the water problem we had in the cellar for years. This was the best investment I ever made.

    Our House
Steve has always provided very close estimates, and has always been sure to mention any potential problems that may arise, especially as ours is an old house. When giving an estimate, he always arrives on time, has the materials he needs, and never seems like he is in a rush. He gives tips on work that I might be able to do myself in order to cut costs, and really has a sense of what will work best for us. His crew is outstanding, and we trust them implicitly. They are neat, polite, and do phenomenal work. One of Galaxy's real strengths is that Steve has assembled an incredible team, and there is someone on the team who can perform whatever type of work is necessary--and do it extremely well. I cannot recommend Galaxy highly enough.

He was very nice and very professional. The estimate was exactly what I thought I wanted and what another guy had advised me. If I get the work done, I am going to go with him. They will have to dig up the concrete and do filler.

    Maguire Masonry
Peter returned my call and made an appointment promptly. The day he was to come he called and asked if he could come earlier. That timing wasn't going to work, so we started discussing whether or not the weekend would work. But then I brought up the fact that the cement and pavers would need to be done in the next week or so since the cold weather is upon us. Some professionals have already told us it's too late and most say that we have at most a week or two more time to complete this. Otherwise we need to wait until Spring, because the cement and pavers won't set right. Peter said that he could do cement work when it was freezing, that it would be fine. I asked him what process he would use for the pavers. He answered that he was a stone mason and that he didn't understand my question. I tried to re-phrase a few different ways. I have been researching the various layers/materials that are ideally put down under the pavers, so I have been asking professionals what their process is. Their answers are varied and we want the ideal process done. No professional up to this point has wondered why I was asking what they materials they use. He told me that he has been a stone mason for 30 years and that he found this "insulting". I tried to clarify so that he understood my purpose in asking, but he did not let me. I suggested that he needed to think about how he responded to consumers and he said, "No, I talk to lots of people who are civil and mannerly." At this point I tried to even apologize if I offended him, and explain that I thought maybe he misunderstood my intent. He did not let me finish my sentences and I asked him to please let me finish. He said, "You've done enough of the talking." I realized that this conversation was not worth my time or energy because he was simply being combative and abusive. I hung up the phone confused and stunned. I chose to write my first negative report on Angie's List, because I think people should be informed.
