AHad never hired a professional moving company before and did not know what to expect, especially with some unique aspects to the move. The movers ended up being very nice guys, very helpful and considerate. We underestimated how much we had to move (standard for every move) by a significant amount. Because of that even though the final price was obviously higher than the quote, it was a very reasonable increase. No issues with damaged property or anything, would certainly hire again.

AWhen trying to move and carry a beast of a boxed TV, Small Haul came to the rescue! Within 24 hours, the TV was picked up by Small Haul, made a 20 mile journey, and was carried safely up 2 flights of stairs. For those of you out there in Eastern MA who have an item that is just too cumbersome to move on your own, Small Haul is your answer! Of course they also move items less challenging than that huge TV, so they have easily been placed top on our list for our future moving needs.

AThe guys walked into what was a stressful situation for the kids and me and took the moving piece and made it not only easy, but pleasant, as well. I never thought I would say such a thing about moving, but it's true. They are friendly, efficient, treated my kids like they are family and even reached out to check on us, knowing we are going through a difficult time. Excellent moving service and customer service that goes above and beyond. I recommend them to everyone because I think all moves should be as painless as Mastodon makes them.

AAll the staff I spoke with were very professional and caring. Kimberly provided a quote, dealt with my changes along the way and was always kind and caring. The movers at both pick up site and delivery were professional and efficient. The process of communication regarding pick up and delivery was easy, the movers were on time and when they hit a traffic snag they went out of the way to let me know they would be a little late. I highly recommend this company and will use them again if I ever need to move a piano over distance.

AI moved in the middle of the corona virus pandemic. It was very stressful on many levels. James was laid back and casual which was very calming in all of my stress. He and his crew arrived and took over. I didn't finish packing and they handled it all without missing a beat. They took great care with my belongings, wrapping everything and being careful not to damage anything. I was very concerned about my piano, and they handled it easily. Moving in was just as easy. They put things where I wanted them and reassembled everything. I can't recommend them highly enough. They were fun and easy to be around, chatting as they worked. They took a very stressful situation and made it easy! Don't hesitate to hire them!

AAwesome, stress free experience. Royce and his partner Jake (?) were outstanding. When our truck load was 160 lbs over the truck's weight limit of 8,500 lbs, they removed their spare tools and equipment and drove the 890 miles with no more than 1/2 their fuel load to stay underweight. Nothing damaged and they were so helpful in getting all our furniture and boxes into the right places. Protected walls and floors and disassembled and reassembled beds and tables without issues. Outstanding and would hire them again. Thank you!

AOther than a few upfront contract issues and a billing error that they did not correct until we reminded them of it, it was great. The mover arrived on time at all locations, wearing a mask, was very polite and helpful and got it done in a timely fashion. Everything was solidly boxed and wrapped. It was our first cross country move and since we'd heard horror stories about other such moves, we didn't know what to expect. Glad we went with a non-"big box" mover.

AStatewide Moving & Storage CoMark Sexton and his team was VERY responsive. This is the second time we've used his services. The quote process was quick and we able to confirm a date very quickly. Support staff that assisted with the reservation and logistics was excellent. The day of the move arrived and 2 trucks showed up at the storage facility 10 minutes early. The crew introduced themselves, asked questions about how to organize the moving process - which furniture would go in which truck and what sequence. We were all loaded up in 2 1/2 hours - perfectly organized and everyone was very professional. We then went to the cottage to drop off some furniture and pick up some other 'stuff'.....this part of the process went quite well. We bought lunch for the crew...they were quite appreciative and then went to the new house for the final move in. Our new home is 3 stories - with a 3rd story gym. We have a professional grade Eliptical AND Treadmill. These guys were AWESOME...heavy difficult equipment and a tight staircase - they worked as a team, helping each other and exhibited a sense of teamwork....all without a scratch. This was a great experience! They are a well run company and i would highly recommend them to anyone.- anthony m.

AANCHOR SELF STORAGE-MASHPEEVisited the site for estimate and person at front desk was very helpful. She suggested various ways for us to store our household items and gave us specials that we could choose from. She showed us the various units and explained the difference between air conditioned units and those not air conditioned. She did not pressure us. We have visited our site several times since putting our items in storage and the place is spotless clean and staff friendly and helpful. The security at the site is wonderful. There is elevator and stair access to our site and they provide a handcart for ease in moving items. They also have a truck one can use. And they sell packing items.- William W.

DMAGNUM MOVING & STORAGEBefore you commit to using Magnum Moving Co. consider our experience! The team that moved us out and in to our new home 6 months later were the same team of professional and experience movers. Our goods spent 6 months in Magnum Moving Co. warehouse. Over the past year we have been dealing with the management of Magnum Moving Co. They have made us SERIOUSLY REGRET ever getting involved with the company! The saga began three months into storage with an email claiming that they had made a bookkeeping error and the storage box count was 13 not 12. Since it was their error they graciously decided not to backbill us for the four months of storing that uncounted box. The extra $50 per month was not a big deal, but the concern for control of my goods became a thought. Shortly after the move in to our new home, we began to notice that we had some personal items missing. Over time, we have noticed that a large number of items are missing. These items were from various places in our previous home and dealt with multiple seasonal items. The yoga mat, the kitchen spices, the Santa Claus suit, the ski clothes, fireplace equipment, and hand tools from the workbench are now clearly recognized as missing. By my estimate, some 8 to 10 boxes were lost! That amounts to a small storage container that was unaccounted for. The response from management has been…. We will look into that! We will check every "empty" storage box in the warehouse as soon as our busy season is over, and finally after a year of this avoidance process, "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods!" After multiple requests to personally meet with someone who could resolve the issue, I met with the office manager on their premises. After a frustrating 30 minutes of paper shuffling and questions, her response was: "I will review this with the owner." So much for talking to someone who was willing or capable to resolve a problem. To add some perspective, the total cost of the move out, the storage and the move in exceeded $13,000. Their "final offer" to settle our claim was $600.00 as a resolution of $2500 to $3500 of identified personal property missing. Their defense for the amount was again "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods! They won by wearing me down to the point that I am glad to be done with them! My only option is to claim against my homeowner's property insurance and take the hit against my clean personal insurance claim record for their negligence. That is a very hard pill to swallow! My conclusion and warning is that I would never recommend Magnum Movers in spite of the professional team of movers. The controls in the warehouse and ANY dealing with the management team was so unsettling that I cannot understand how they have remained in business for so long! The management version of client service is "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods! And once your check has cleared….. we will wear you down! As a postscript, I had to "electronically sign" the claim waiver. Obviously they have had enough claims that they have automated the process! Getting better controls of their warehouse handling would be a better use of an effective management! Obviously, that is not what they are interested in!- Bill F.

FVanguard Moving ServicesThey showed up at exactly the right time. 9:30 am. I was told travel time would be included in the cost. I was billed from 9 am on which came to $50.00 (1/2 hour @ $100.00) to travel 3.1 miles. Two young men and a large 24 foot truck was used for the move. They gouged me for 19 1/2 hours. The labor portion should have only been 12 hours. A previous move to the same location took 3 men 2 1/2 hours or 7 1/2 total hours. They also billed me 40 minutes for their return trip home that was exactly 3.6 miles. I notified them twice that there were beautiful hardwood floors in my new home. They put drop clothes down and did a good job except a 14 1 /2 inch gouge that is 1/2 inch wide and almost 1/2 inch deep. My girlfriend noticed the next morning and I call Vanguard on the 23rd to notify them. I took pictures and showed them in person a couple days later since my cable was down. I was told to get an estimate which I did.. I called a number of times about it and was told the foreman had to be questioned. FORTY days after they were notified they questioned the foreman. He couldn't remember causing that type of damage. Thus they deny any responsibility. I have asked to speak to the owner or co-owner directly. Again requests to speak to the owner...have gone unanswered. I would have liked that foreman and company owner to at least look at the damage. It was impossible to have happened any other way. Comments from the HEAD desk staff and quot;of course YOU couldn't have done it ! When I presented her with an estimate. You'll see plenty of smiles. LOOK OUT !! Comments and quot; We would get done a lot faster if you helped out and quot; from the young worker. I have severe spinal stenosis and can lift almost nothing. I was already in severe pain from packing above and beyond the pain I'm in 24/7. I, like many people, am going through one of the most stressful times in anyone's life. We don't need this. Don't get gouged in your wallet or property. I hate writing reviews like this. Too many people ignore and ignore and ignore and ignore problems they are responsible for- James L.
