    Sheffer, Dr. Peter C.
I have been visiting Dr. Sheffer's office twice yearly since 2001. He and his staff are friendly, professional and efficient. The office environment is great, and it is also conveniently located in downtown Pittsfield. The telephone and e-mail visit reminders are convenient as well. The receptionists and hygienists always try to accommodate my scheduling needs so that I can minimize time away from work. I find Dr. Sheffer's practice to be exceptional and I look forward to continued patronage for many years to come!

    Sakshaug, Dr. Thomas J.
Dr. Tom has always been professional and he is a great dentist. My family has been going to him for many years. Tom and his staff are knowledgeable and trustworthy. If there is an issue, he discusses and gives you options. He never has treated us without our consent. During any procedure he will always ask if you are in any pain or whether he can proceed. He has also treated my Mom who is now 89 years old for many years. He has treated her with respect and has fixed her partials, or other dental issues she has had in a prompt and professional manner. I would highly recommend Tom Sakshaug to anyone in our area.

When I arrived at the office and told the reason for my visit, I was told that the doctor would see me immediately even though I did not have an appointment. I was taken into the examination room within 10 minutes of m arrival. The assistant took an x-ray and the doctor arrived approximately 5 minutes later. She showed me the x-ray and explained that I had a choice to make. She said she could prescribe an antibiotic and treat the infection only, or she could remove the tooth completely. She took the time to explain the pros and cons of each and helped me decide based on my lifestyle which was the best course of action. In less than 15 minutes she had the tooth out, wrote a prescription and had me on my way. Oh yea, she also made an appointment for me to follow up, and for my regular cleaning. One other thing.. She is a beautiful woman, and that made staring at her face for the 10 minutes it took for her to remove the tooth a much more pleasant experience!

    Natalya Yantovsky DDS,DMD
Dr. Y is great and her staff is also. The only criticism I have is that they are very good at trying to upsell you on things that may not be that urgent. Other than that, I am very happy with her perfomance.

    George, Dr. John C
First appointment was made within a day when I called as a new client
when I was in pain. The got me in and made a plan to take care of the
problem. 2 weeks later I went back in for the next appointment. (Later
due to an infection and my schedule) Price quotes were right on. Not
only is Dr. George amazing but every member of his staff was also. I
personally liked that I could fill out forms on line before I went in
and that they offer a email and/or text reminder for your appointment. I
will definitely be going back to them!

I hate going to the dentist and I go to him regularly. Everyone is very personable, very nice...they don't load up the waiting room so you always feel like one of the few people that are there. Dr Sakshaug's chairside manner can be a little gruff sometimes.

He is an excellent dentist, and I've been very pleased with all the work he does. He's a little on the expensive side, but the quality of work is great. He has been pushing some work recently that I really don't want to have done. The procedure he is recommending is quite expensive, and I don't have the money to spend on it, yet he keeps trying to get me to agree to it.

    Wasserman, Dr Michael H DDS
We have been going to see him for several years. He is very personable and does a very good job. He is the dentist and also the hygienist. He does it all. He has a technician for x-rays and he has someone for the front desk, but he does the actual cleaning himself.

    Pyser, Dr. Neil B.
Dr. Pyser has done a number of crowns for me, which have turned out beautiful. Besides good quality dental work, what I really like about this guy is his skill at giving painless shots. Before I moved here, I had such anxiety over going to the dentist because of fear of shots; I used to have to take anti anxiety pills first. My husband has switched dentists to Dr. Pyser. Hubby had a chipped front tooth that his dentist had to repair at least once a year, sometimes twice. The last time he had Dr. Pyser repair it, and it has held ever since. Other things I like are that the office is impeccably clean, the equipment is modern, and the waiting area is comfortable. I like the large windows that have views of the trees and plants outside. My husband and I both used to hate having our teeth cleaned at our old dentist, because it was painful. Here Tracy does a good job and is much gentler, while being pleasant and efficient. She doesn't check the neck for lumps like some hygienists do, but that is o.k. with me since my doc does that anyway. What they could do a bit better is the billing. In other offices when I need to make another appointment for more services the office staff sits down with me and discusses the cost and gives me a estimate as a printout. It is nice when an office initiates the financial discussion and is efficient in that way. At this office they don't seem to really know what the insurance will pay, however they are great about just billing the insurance and waiting to see what they will pay. I realize that although I prefer to frankly discuss finances upfront, many people may love the laid back, it is not all about the money approach. My only real gripe here would probably be the same at most other dentists. I needed a specialty service that Dr. Pyser doesn?t do, and he let me go to a Dr. who was terrible. I had a bad experience with the other guy, and since then have heard of horror stories and official complaints against the other doctor. One of the women I spoke with had such poor quality work from the other Dr., that she considered filing a formal complaint; what really irks me is that she is a patient of Dr. Pyser, and he was well aware of her complaint when he let me go to Dr. terrible. I know most professionals are not going to bad mouth another, and this could happen anywhere, but I would have appreciated being discreetly steered to a different specialist. Please notice my gripes are not with the dental work, all in all, this guy is a great dentist, who does top quality work, and is painless. All in all, it is great for me to be able to get dental work done and know it will be high quality, and pain free. I would recommend Dr. Pyser to anyone.
