Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Peabody

  • I had never heard of Kats Construction and Remodel, LLC prior to this job. The person I hired to design our remodel, said she had a general contractor she works with. She gave me the opportunity to meet the owner of Kats Construction and have him provide a quote of his portion of the job. Tom (owner) was very professional and knowledgeable. He outlined exactly what he would do for me and he did that and more. I had an issue with the flooring company we hired and even though it wasn't Kats Construction, Tom assisted me in resolving an issue. Tom's took pride and responsibility for not just his work, but the entire project. He came to do a final walk-through to see if I was happy with the job and also to see if he was happy with the job. I cannot recommend Kats Construction enough. I hope to use Kats Construction again in the furute when we remodel our upstairs.

  • Matt Silva and team from Kitchen Tuneup of Peabody did an amazing job on our full kitchen project!!! From the beginning his professionalism made all the difference. The result was a wonderful experience with perfect cabinet refacing, drawer replacements and a beautiful backsplash installed. We can't say enough wonderful things about the quality of the work and product and how much trust we had in Matt and his team throughout the process. We highly recommend Matt and Kitchen Tuneup of Peabody for kitchen projects - they are simply the best!!!

  • Deciding to remodel the only bathroom was a challenge. Short of moving out, Dennis Molla did everything to make it as painless as possible. On day one, plastic sheathing installed to protect all areas not involved. Dennis, his crew, and his subs were neat and courteous (no foul language). Always "clean as you go". I'm one that asks a lot of questions; Dennis or his crew kept me informed through the five week project. Dennis took care of many details-trash removal, delivery of bath fixtures, port-o-potty, pick-up of tiles... He projected my bathroom would take 4 to 5 weeks -right on. I could set my watch by him. I am very pleased with my new classic bathroom.

  • Todd was very communicative, stayed on the job throughout the duration of it, handled added requests and unforeseen glitches professionally, cleaned up after himself, performed high quality work, coordinated with the plumber, and is an all around nice guy. I strongly recommend him and would hire him again.

  • We had Arthur remodel our master bath. We made no changes to the footprint, just freshened up the existing bath. Unfortunately this took over 2 1/2 months! There were little inconsistencies with quality of the work and at the end of the project he apologized & admitted he didn't do his best work for us. Fast forward 3 years, we discover a bad leak in our master closet coming from the master shower. We had a lot of mold and a wet carpet. As we don't frequently check the floor in the back of our closet, we have no idea how long this was going on. We immediately called him & asked him to come check it out. He came over & took out part of the wall & said he would stand by his workmanship & come back to fix it. We never heard from him again. Its been 3 months! We have left at least 10 voicemails; we have texted & emailed him repeatedly. We finally had to put in a claim with our insurance company as we could not use the shower. When the new plumber & contractor came in & took apart our shower to fix it they were amazed by what they saw. They showed us how bad the workmanship was underneath. The membrane was sliced in a few locations, floor tile not butted up to wall tile, no trap in the drain, pipe wasn't glued and the tile on the wall was put up with only small patches of mortar here & there. He finally texted back 3 months later indicating he was no longer in the business, but we have since found out thats not true. We sent a formal letter & email to Arthur requesting his insurance information as we have a $1000 deductible that we should not have to pay out of pocket due to his lousy workmanship. We still have not heard back from him. We understand that sometimes things happen but this was a LOT of unnecessary things happening due to bad workmanship and a contractor should stand by his work! We would never recommend him.

  • We used Leblanc home improvements to replace our kitchen sink and bathroom remodel. Mr Leblanc charged what he estimated for the job. He was very prompt and friendly. He removed all the old fixtures and left the job neat and clean. We would definitely recommend him to other people.

  • Carl helped up design a completely new layout for the drab, tiny old-fashioned kitchen in our new house. He also directed us to vendors for counter tops, appliances and tile. All of the suggested vendors were great to deal with. McCormick coordinates all of the contractors that work on your project, so we never had to worry about finding a plumber, electrician, or anything of the like. We also never had to worry about pulling permits because they do that for you too. Everyone that worked in our home was pleasant and trustworthy. This was important because my husband and I were usually at work when the contractors were working in our home. Only once did I ever come home to find the place was left a mess (not bad considering how many people were in and out of our home over such a long period of time). Which brings me to my next point, the only major downside I found with McCormick is terrible communication, mostly between the job foreman and the customer. I was literally told that I was not supposed to contact the office manager after construction had started but to address all communications directly with the job foreman (Darrin). Darrin is a nice enough guy but very short on words. Calls were not picked up and texts were answered briefly and incompletely. It was near impossible to have a conversation about the project and get questions answered unless you were physically in his presence (which most of the time we were not because we are just average people who work full time jobs). For the amount of money we spent on this project (this kitchen has to last us the rest of our lives), it was important to us to communicate our concerns and get our questions answered to ensure that everything would come out just right. As the team will not work in your home on a daily basis, it was important for us to know when we would have a crew working in our home. This was more of a personal reason in that I was pregnant at the time and sometimes wanted to take a day off that did not coincide with a crew of workmen in my home. When the project first started we would be notified when workers would be in the house. Then somewhere along the line that just completely stopped and it didn't matter how many times we asked to be notified of when workers were coming, we never were. This was problematic because as the project went on, we saw less and less of McCormick Kitchens. Sometimes they would say they were coming and you would get home from work and no one had been there. May not sound like a big deal, but if you're pregnant and having complications and need a day home to rest, it would be nice to know you can actually take the day off without wondering if you could relax in your pajamas or if a construction crew would be coming in the door any minute. Sometimes we wouldn't see anyone for a week or longer. The project took entirely too long. We began demolition on March 27th and were told it would take 9-12 weeks from start to finish. In my mind this means, we are 100% done (construction done, paid in full, final walk through, inspections and everything). Well, they finished the kitchen sometime in late June and we just never heard from them again until September when they called looking for their final payment. We did a final walk through in September and requested some small things be addressed from a burn list. Here it is October and we are still waiting. Hopefully we will be done this week. We still need to worry about inspectors coming through to look at the work and this to me is just ridiculous. We started in March and the expectation is to be 100% done in June and I'm still making calls to them in October. I am a new mom who works full time and just want to be done with this kitchen already! Overall, product is great. Contractors and crew were great. There is something to be said for trusting the workers to be in your home when you are not. Service is decent. Communication is poor. Time frame within which this project was done is terrible. I would recommend them but just want prospective customers to have a wide open time frame within which to expect their project completed. They start off real strong and then just peter out to the point where you wonder if they forgot about you. The kitchen is beautiful and functional but no way should it have taken so long... My baby will probably be in college by the time I take McCormick's phone numbers out of my cell phone!

  • Baystate Building and Remodeling will not stand by their work and fix the vinyl floor they installed during a remodel 18 months ago. I called the owner, Tom Lewis on multiple occasions as this was a problem from the beginning. Unfortunately more than a year later it continues to be a challenge due to non-responsiveness and Tom Lewis’s complete lack of professionalism. The business phone is never answered, has no voicemail. Tom Lewis’s cell phone has no available voicemail. He does not respond to text’s. Sheer disappointment! On a side note, in addition to the money from the claim, over $200K, from me personally, he received an additional $40,000.00 for other improvements on the property. I was a complete fool and trusted him instead of keeping a business mind. Tommy Lewis has no integrity and is a liar. I would respectfully request that you ensure this terrible experience never happen to another person, or anyone you know or meet; to spare those potential Baystate victims, please do NOT recommend or use Baystate Building and Remodeling. • Every job was done to perfection. If there was a day and time to be there they were. If I had any concerns it was always taken care of. I would highly recommend Penney Construction you will not be disappointed.
