    Sears Appliance Repair
I had a garage door opener and their remote wouldn't work and I can't see why they wouldn't work their's for thirty four dollars and he sold me one for Chamber land like seventy dollars I don't know if that was a fair price are not I'm gonna check Lowe's  because they sell those things and see if they have it thirty dollars i thought that was a lot of money. My remote would't work press the button it goes up and the Sear's remote wouldn't work and he couldn't get I to work why he couldn't get a Sear's remote on it but he gave me a Chamber land like given me he sold me a chamber land  for seventy dollars and programming that remote was seventy dollars so it was a hundred and forty dollars it wasn't nearly a repair just to get the door up and down with the remote was a hundred and forty dollars together.

    KARMIN DOOR COMPANY

Karmin door was the first one to respond to our call, and showed up the same day.  they found out that the we actually need a new opener.  they came back 3 days later with all the right parts. The whole process went very smoothly.  the technician was very professional and knowledgeable, and did a thorough inspection as well (he also fixed our misaligned sensor).   very satisfied with the final results.  the new motor was much quieter.  would definitely use Karmin again.

    Lynoka Garage Door Service
Scott and his dad showed up on time and explained what he was going to do to inspect and lube the garage door. He explained every step he was doing and showed me how I could lubricate the door in the future. There were no problems with my door, but if I had a problem I would definitely call Lynoka Garage Door Services

Beverly Overhead Garage Door Co Inc
Filled out an estimate request from their on-line page on Sunday.
Got auto-reply email that I should be hearing from them soon.
Tuesday morning I got my email with the quote.
Called at 1:50 PM and the owner answered the phone.
He told me that he advises the replacement both springs.
As I would not be able to be home in time, he offered to send me a bill after work was completed.
Had my son clear out space under the tracks to limit any prep work.
He had a 2 man truck at my home within 2 hours as they were already in the area finishing up another job locally.
    They removed both cable/spring setups.
    Installed the new cable/spring setups.
Hauled away old springs and large pieces of cable.
I would have given them Excellent in all categories, BUT they left the small wire cuttings on the garage floor.

The Garage Door Co of Boston
It was a big deal and it went well. They were very polite and did a good job. The garage door is working fine. I paid extra on top of the deal. It was easy to schedule an appointment with them, they were prompt, did exactly what they said they would do and they were professional.

The Garage Door Co of Boston
initially wanted to inspect and/or do a tune up on the old garage door for 79.00 with coupon,  it did not close properly, had some space for insects, maybe critters and water to come in;   old door was installed possible in 1960's when the house was built and opener was added in 1995 which as of late sometimes worked and sometimes did not;  we decided to put in a new garage door and opener;  this was done fast - few hours just after noon the new door was in place;  did a good job on the door, all wiring, switches/panels are good and neat, door works good and very quiet compared to the old door, no spaces at all and should keep the water out while the door is shut; great warranty for 5 years; also has a lot more features and programming to learn, briefly explained how it works but there are lots of features/options and a book to read through;  now may use angie's list to find a contractor and fix the driveway outside of the door (without tampering with the door otherwise would loose the warranty), so the water wouldn't gather up there.
    Update: 05/15/2014
I have had issues with the garage door and he has been unresponsive when I have called him.  He doesn't respond, his professionalism is poor talks about personal issues and does not keep it on a business level.  The biggest issue he was to put in inserts that cost about $50.00 and he has failed to do this.  He stated it would be two weeks and his been over a month.  He sated door will not allow water in garage and the water comes right through.  The water piles up in the garage due to this.  He stated no way to get rid of motion detector he did not tell me the right information. I called him first due to garage door not responding, his response was to read the manual instead of taking care of my issue.  I have done research and looked at other installations and they were at a lower cost and better service. The cost is just as high as others if not higher.  The service is very poor.  He gave me a five year warranty but never really described what it covered.  I am calling him and he is not responding so what good is the warranty if he does not respond.

    McCabe's Garage Door
Duane (the owner of the company) from McCabe's Garage Doors did a great job servicing my garage door issue.  I was having an issue with my garage doors closing and had to hire a company do come out an take a look at it.  The 1st person that I contacted was the company that had there sticker on my garage door with there contact information.  I contacted this company 1 week ago and I never got a response from them.  I then reached out to McCabe's Garage Doors and got an immediate response.  Duane was on time, very professional and extremely knowledgeable.  My garage doors are now in excellent working condition thanks to Duane.
I would 100% recommend anyone that is looking to get work done to there garage doors to hire McCabe's Garage Doors.
    I'm a very satisfied customer!

    Morris Doors, Inc.
Peleg called to say he could come earlier than our scheduled appt time, but I told him I was unfortunately probably going to be a little late, depending on traffic.  He said that was fine, and when I did arrive 15 minutes late, he was still waiting for me and didn't seem to mind at all.  (It was the end of the day so he rightfully could have asked to reschedule.)
He took a look and immediately said that I needed new wheels.  He also noticed that the door looked a bit warped so we discussed whether it would require something to stabilize it and he said that would probably be a good idea.  I liked the fact that he didn't try to get me to do more than I really needed to.  (He could have suggested a new garage door and/or opener.)  He gave me an estimate and said he could do the work right then, which was perfect.  When he was almost done, he offered to put a bulb into the garage door opener and I told him it seems to go out as soon as I put a new one in, so I never bother.  He said it was probably because of the vibration, so I should give it a try now.  I did notice that the garage door was opening and closing smoother and quieter than I ever remembered so I did have him put a new bulb in.
When he finished with the work and clean up, he asked where I had heard of him and I told him Angie's List, so he told me I would get a 10% discount.  (Cool!)  He wrote up the bill and I paid with a credit card.  I don't think he had included the price of the metal bar in the estimate, so the total was a little higher than I expected, but I still thought it was a good and fair price for the job done.  He asked if he could wash his hands; I only mention this because he was respectful of my home, asking whether to use bathroom or kitchen, cloth towel or paper, etc.
Overall, I was very happy with the professionalism, service and price, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
Oh, and one other thing: it's 3 weeks later and the light bulb is still working!  :)

    SALEM OVERHEAD DOOR CO
When I called to make the appt to have my garage doors replaced, I received a call back within a couple of hours.  Bill was pleasant and helpful making an appt for the next day to see what he was dealing with.  My garage doors were a mess and Bill gave me a great price and advice on how to prep the molding on the garage doors before they replaced them...something non of the 4 other people I had come out told me.  They placed the order, showed up on time, did a great job and stuck to the estimate even though it took longer because my home is 100 years old.  They called to follow up on my satisfaction and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a garage door company.

    Bacon's Garage Door Co
We've had the pleasure of using Bacon's Gargage Door Co a couple of times now and I wanted to make sure I submitted a report to let other members know about the quality and responsiveness of this company.  I also own a business and since our customers are the first priority, I only want to work with others who do the same.  I'm happy to say I've found that with Bacon's Garage Door Co.
My company has used several garage door repair guys over the years....we have many little fork lift "incidents" where our doors are damaged from time to time.  We dread calling the local guys as they never come when they say they will, do not take the time to explain what's going on.....but certainly don't hesitate sending a large bill almost immediately after!   Needless to say, we would take our time in calling for repairs, which most likely made our doors even worse!
We heard about Bacon's Garage Door through a friend when we needed another door installed.  I reached out to Bacon's and immediately received a call back from the owner, Bill.  He came out within 24 hours as promised, gave us the estimate and charged exactly as stated...not like other companies and their added "extras".  This new door is shared by our neighboring company and they are very happy with it as well!
Not too long after the installation of the new door,  one of our other garage doors ceased to work.   We didn't hesitate to contact Bill again and he came right out and fixed it.  He made suggestions as to how to maintain it to maybe help limit the service calls.  How many companies actually do that?  Considering their business is to repair, they usually hope things malfunction again, and soon!
I find Bill to be an honest guy that does excellent work, prices are very reasonable and is there when you need him.  Really, other than it being free of charge, I'd say that's the best scenario for any service based company!   I would highly recommend Bacon's Garage Doors to everyone.
