AJP O'Brien Electric LLPMy first experience with JP O'Brien Electric was for a generator install that they did for me in 2018. Joe and Dave were very prompt and professional and they explained everything that needed to be done to prepare. They took care of all of the permitting and walked me through the process every step of the way. I appreciated the fact that they shared their knowledge with me and their willingness to bear with a relatively new homeowner with many questions about having this big piece of equipment installed. Joe and his team also introduced me to a company that would maintain my generator to keep it in good running condition year over year. The install was very neat and tidy. I am very pleased with their work and would recommend them to anyone seeking a quality electrician. His prices were reasonable as well. I have since called them for advice on other matters that I found in my house, and recently had them out to certify that my recessed lights were insulation contact rated. AVMA Electric IncTwo electricians arrived 10 minutes early and ready to work. One did the two on of the garage door and one did the three smaller ones on the side and back of the house. He took our basement from foundation only to a great living/playing area with a wet bar and 1/2 bath. AVMA Electric IncThings went fine; VMA provided an estimate and we concurred on a scope of work. VMA electricians were courteous and easy to work with. The office manager (Nancy) is very responsive to queries and very communicative on when crew is expected on site, etc. VMA does seem to be pretty busy, so if you have non-emergency work to be done (as was this work) you may need to wait a few weeks for your turn on the schedule. However, VMA stuck with the scheduled work date and it was done as scheduled.- THERESA B.

APerry Brothers ConstructionOur existing bathroom was a half bathroom with sink vanity, toilet, washer and dryer. We needed to eliminate laundry equipment and add shower and closet in the space that was designated for a washer and dryer, and add outside venting. We also wanted to tile the whole bathroom up to the ceiling. The job was performed excellent and we are very happy with the choices we made. Bill Perry and his crew were working in our house before renovating basement and building rooms there, so we knew that they were the best company for us. ACape Home Remodel - Basement ConceptsJeff and his crew did a nice job with the windows as well as the inside walls, ceiling and floor. All the outlets were installed where we requested and the new light fixture looks great. We are also very happy with the new floor. Overall very pleased with the results. Jeff is easy to work with and his pricing is very reasonable. We are already planning to have him do a couple of other projects when the weather gets warmer in the spring. AFrom estimate to completion, everyone from the office to the on-site workers were amazing. All of my email and calls were returned promptly. The guys who did the work were great. They were here on time and stayed until it was done. Everything was kept clean and picked up. It was not an easy job as we had an old (1902) burner that was removed as well where one piece of it alone weighed over 600lbs. I never had one worry with them on-site. They followed all Covid rules and were very courteous and patient with all questions and especially showing us how everything works now. They filed the rebate for us as well to make sure that we had that coming. I would definitely recommend Cotti-Johnson and would hire them again without batting an eye.

DMike came out to do a quote for an assortment of minor work items that our home inspector had suggested when we bought our house. He seemed professional and knowledgeable and was happy to look over all the items we were interested in, explaining how important each note from the home inspector was or wasn't and catching one or two issues that the home inspector had missed. We asked him whether we needed to hire him for running some low-voltage ethernet cable or whether we could do that ourselves; he said we were fine to do it ourselves so long as it wasn't touching the electrical panel or anything high voltage. We initially thought this was a good sign (not selling us on work we didn't really need an electrician for). We later learned that our town (Rehoboth)'s building department disagrees with this advice; they advised us that Rehoboth ordinance *does* require that work like that be done under a permit by a licensed professional. His quote was timely and reasonably priced (about average among the quotes we received). We asked to book the appointment, but we had trouble getting in contact with him; it took a few tries and a month's delay to get a response back confirming a date. When we asked for details about the process for getting a permit and inspection set up for the work, he informed us that those weren't included as part of the quote, and that if we wanted the work to be done with a permit he'd have to adjust the quote to add the permit fees and to add arc-fault breakers to the quote, which are apparently required to meet permit requirements but which he hadn't originally planned to use in the quote. We were slightly uncomfortable with the repeated communication hangups during scheduling and extremely uncomfortable with the idea that we wouldn't be able to trust that the work was done according to local ordinance, so we cancelled the appointment.

DHe fixed it but he charged me $240 dollars, even though I had an Angie's List deal for $175. That is bait and switch. Even though he did fix the problem, which took about 5-10 minutes, I am angry that he would not honor my coupon. I realize that he has to travel to get here from Brookline, which likely took about 20-25 minutes, but to charge more than the deal I contracted him for is unprofessional.

AThe Tech arrived in the morning for the install. We had removed previous shades and curtains so that access to each window was easy. The Tech came prepared with all the tools he’d need; (1) a light powerful drill; (2) Level; (3) Pencil; (4) Measuring Tape. The install went very well. The Tech was familiar with the intricacies of installing window treatment hardware and didn’t run into any issues. We will definitely hire WOW MEDIA again !
