Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Norwood

    Walpole Doors
These guys are great. I called Jim and he sent out Scott and Walter who were great guys to work with, very polite/professional and knowledgeable, they troubleshooted the problem and ordered the part that was broken. Luckily for me it was still under warranty. Once the part came in Jim called me and scheduled it to be installed. We were extremely pleased with Walpole doors. I would highly recommend these guys.

The job went very well. The technician arrived promptly, removed the old 25 year-old heavy wooden door and 25 year -old tracks then installed the new maintenance - free door and tracks, He removed the old wooden trim and replaced it with new white trim that never needs paint or upkeep. The job took about 2 hours and when he was finished he took away every single piece of debris. The site was perfectly clean and he showed me everything I could possibly need to know about my new door and tracks. The garage now looks brand new. This adds value to my property for sure.

    Excellent work!
Peter came out and checked out the garage first and explained clearly what they would do.  He was very easy to talk to - personable, honest and friendly.  When the job was completed, I was very impressed.  Everything was squared off so nicely.  It looks amazing.  Fantastic work!  Clearly these guys take great pride in what they do.
Incidentally, I had a bad experience with another garage door company (out of Foxboro) so when my previous doors fell apart prematurely at just 10 years old I was very particular in who I chose for this next set of doors.  Peter did not disappoint - in fact he even pointed out some issues with the way they were done previously that had annoyed me as well (but which the previous guy brushed off).  He took care of all of these little issues with trim and so forth while he was at it.

    Vinton's Garage Doors & Openers
I was pleased with Vinton at the beginning.  He did a great job and everything was done well.  However, after less than 10 years the doors started to rot and fall apart.  After discussing with Jeld-Wen (who manufactured the doors), Baker Construction (the contractor), and Vinton, everyone passed the buck and no one took any responsibility.  The doors came in the correct color, so they appeared to require no painting.
However, Jeld-Wen sent me a notice that they said should have appeared on the doors when I got them indicating that they must be painted on all 6 sides to last long and be under the warranty.
Baker Construction said they were never told, Vinton said that he always tells the contractors, and Vinton also said that the wholesaler removes the important sticker from the doors.
No one took responsibility for it, which is ridiculous.  I would have paid to have the doors painted.  We had spent much more putting up the doors, electrifying the garage, re-doing the roof, and siding the garage.  We would not have balked over a few hundred dollars more to paint them.  I was very pleased with Vinton and Baker construction until this happened and I have no respect for either of them now.  They failed to stand behind their work.

It was an Angie's List big Deal that I purchased. The service was reasonable. I didn't really feel like the guy knew what he was doing particularly, I wasn't sure. This is a new house I moved into and I was having everything checked over. They didn't do anything wrong but I didn't feel they were overly professional. I didn't spend any additional money. He wasn't here more than a few minutes so I'm not sure the price was worth doing but it was worth the money for the piece of mind of having everything checked over. They were right on time. I might use them again.

OVERHEAD DOOR COMPANY OF SOUTHEASTERN MASS
Came later than the appointed time, but then worked steadily untill work was done the same day. I noticed attention detail as thy worked at getting a stubborn seal to fit right. BTW, it still fits right. They then explained the operation to me.

We quoted couple of companies for the job and Joshua from Overhead Shamrock was the best offer. He was very courteous and friendly and he was very proud of the excellent services that his company provided, telling us that if we have any problem with the door he will be right away fixing the problem for us.  In his estimate Joshua offered us a backup battery, inside wall console, outside  security keypad, a belt drive garage door opener, new springs, weather seal and we agreed to keep the 12" track plus he offered a second remote for free, that it never arrived. At the time the door was been install, the installer needs two bracket that help the door to open correctly for an extra cost that we agreed to pay. When he left I wrote on the check that one of the two remotes control was missing, he said it needs to be order. I email Joshua 3 weeks later and he reply back that the remote is ordered and he was waiting for it, I email him again a month later and No answer, then I email again and No answer again, Finally I decided to buy the remote control myself and that is what I did. So much for the customer services and fast respond to fix problems that we so much was talking about it in the beginning. To bad that people just not keep their promises or good services anymore, after they get your money is not their problem anymore..TOO BAD!

    Shamrock Overhead Door, Inc.
The manual did nothing to help us. I am at work all day so I don't have the time during the day to call the 1-800 number, and my wife won't know what they're talking about. So overall, we've gotten nowhere but more frustrated.

We are sold on Norwood Overhead Door. When he first came to give us an estimate, he said the old door opener motor was ready to fall . Peter preceded to get up on the ladder and removed it before anyone got hurt. He then wrote up the estimate and gave it to us. No charge at all for the work he did that day and the amount was in the middle of the other three we had received. But we knew we were going to hire him even before looking at the quote. Norwood Door was recommended by the salesman who sold us our siding (who we were very happy with also).

    Overhead Door Garage Headquarters
The firt call was returned within a couple of hours. After the scope of work was determined, scheduling was handled through an office in Providence. We had to change the schedule visit once to accomodate my schedule, which the company handled smoothly. The return visit was prompt and efficient. Overall, a pleasant expereince. I would recommend this company and gladly do business with them again.
