Fantastic! Have hired them to do more work on the house since. They were on time, polite and professional, cleaned everything up along the way, and are really knowledgeable. This was a really complex job, in a really old home They could have cut corners many times but they never did. When something crazy came up due to our house being over 100 years old (which inevitably it did), like finding additional layers of floor and ceiling, they talked us through options, and did things the RIGHT way vs just the fastest or easiest. Their finish work was also done really well - cabinetry, tiling, painting, molding etc. Our new kitchen, bathroom and mudroom are beautiful, and we couldn't be happier with it! We get a lot of compliments on it, and I think if we had gone with anyone else it would have been more expensive and taken much longer to finish. They showed up every day and worked long hours - keeping us in the loop with where things were at all along the way. For everything that was involved, we were impressed with how quickly the work was completed. We've been so happy we have since hired them to do more work on the house - updating our foundation with masonry work.

Bill Germaine at B&B Affordable Renovations has an excellent team of highly skilled workers. They have just finished renovating two of our bathrooms (a guest bath and a powder room) and done an amazing job. This required completely gutting each room. Bill was always easily accessible, giving progress updates during each phase of the project and frequently inquiring about the quality of the workmanship, his staff and if I was fully satisfied. He is open to suggestions and eager to accommodate any last minute modifications. Bill is proud of his work, the reputation of his company and his staff Vinny and Colin, Dave and Leo, Francisco, John, Mike and his crew have done a superb job thus far. They are punctual, professional and considerate, always making sure to clean up after them. I am very pleased with his work and would highly recommend B&B Affordable Renovations for any job big or small. Next, they begin work on renovating our master bathroom.

I'm extremely happy with all of the work Ronnie has done. He is meticulous and shows great attention to detail while also having that rare quality for a skilled craftsman of understanding the artistic vision. He also worked really well with my designer. Don't let his rough exterior throw you. This guy is a pro - both knowledgeable and skilled. I would hire him again in a heartbeat, and in fact, I will, as I am planning to have some tile work done in my kitchen. To address the categories above specifically:
PRICE: Ronnie's price is fair, but not cheap. However, tile jobs can be so sloppy (and he had to rip out one of those I'd already paid for) that it is totally worth paying a fair price for outstanding work.
QUALITY: Ronnie will take his time, not skimping on prep work, laying tile, or sealing, and it is obvious from conversations with him and the final product that he takes immense pride in his work. He understands that all he really has to bank on is his reputation, and he takes that seriously.
RESPONSIVENESS: Ronnie is easy to reach by cell or text and he will communicate in detail regarding his game plan and progress. He will also ask questions to make sure he understands the job and will not risk proceeding if he's unsure.
PUNCTUALITY: Occasionally, scheduling conflicts or something else unexpected resulted in a minor slippage in the time line for the jobs to be completed. That said, my designer needed him to come back several times to tweak things (based on other work we were having done) and he made the time to pop over to do that so that we weren't held up too long on the other work that we needed to complete.
PROFESSIONALISM: At the end of the day, I just want a quality job done at a decent, mutually agreed to price, and for the service provider to treat me as a customer with respect. I got all of that with Ronnie.

    DDA Home Remodel
Dan DeAngeli Home Improvement was hired out of three bids to renovate my kitchen and family room, in addition to making electrical upgrades and improvements in other areas of the house. This was a massive project ultimately costing $47,000. The amount of cost overruns, poor time management, shoddy work, and miscommunication turned this project into a nightmare.
The original project was supposed to take three to four weeks. It was not completed for THREE MONTHS, beginning on April 1, and finishing on August 30.
PROBLEM 1 - COST OVERRUNS: Dan's original estimate came in the lowest out of three bids, but BUYER BEWARE: After having signed the contract, within days of pre-demolition, he raised his price because he had not done adequate research on the electrical code, and said that the costs would have to be raised by several hundred dollars.
PROBLEM 2 - POOR TIME MANAGEMENT: Dan had originally quoted us about three to four weeks for the project to take. - He cautioned us that this timeframe was contingent on how long it took our cabinets to be manufactured and shipped. However, his crew did not make measurements until several days after work had begun, therefore immediately delaying the completion of the project. Meanwhile, when the cabinets arrived as scheduled, Dan and his crew did not pick them up for several days afterwards, - Carpet removal and buffing of hardwood floors was a major part of the project. Even though the house was empty for more than a week between demolition and the delayed cabinet arrival (and the flooring was in areas separate from any other work being done), Dan did not schedule the flooring work to be done until after, adding three more days to the project at a critical time.- Even after several other issues that had pushed construction back well beyond the original projected completion date, Dan refused to finish the outlying problems (see below) because his other schedule was too busy.
PROBLEM 3 - SHODDY WORK: At several times during the process, Dan and his crew performed completely unacceptable work and would have left it this way unless I complained about it. Links to photos of the work are available below.
    - Poor plastering, leaving a hole above a newly-installed window
and a large gaping one near the floor
    - Poor trim work
    - Poorly patched holes that were not at all flush with the rest of the wall
    - When installing the electrical fan lights in each of the four bedrooms, Dan's crew made the light switch entering applicable to the FAN, not the light, which goes against all customary practice.
    - The scope-of-work agreement involved dimmer switches in all four of the bedrooms. Dan originally installed standard on-off switches, and when I complained, he actually tried to convince me that this required a larger box, and that the price of the project should be raised accordingly.
    - Dan's crew was charged with removal of the carpet and re-furbishing of the steps; however, the following photo shows the condition in which he left the risers until I brought up the unacceptable results.
    - Dan's crew left two large holes in the ceiling, which I repeatedly asked be covered. He assured me that they would be hidden by the cabinets. These pictures clearly show they were not.
    - It appears Dan's crew sliced two of the cabinet doors upon removing them from the packaging
    - Dan's crew removed, but did not replace a thermostat until I asked.
    - Several new holes in the walls and ceilings were created and very poorly patched, in many cases, with a blank plate.
    - Electrical upgrades were performed unsatisfactorily, including here where live wires were left hanging out of one boxes, and another box was left covered. Also visible in this picture is grout from tiles that had been allowed to fall, harden, and adhere to the floor and freshly-painted trim.
    - The crew left too little space on the perimeters to account for a pre-existing floating Pergo floor. As a result, the floor began to buckle. When I asked if this could be remedied, Dan's crew responded that they had in fact done it right. Several other opinions agreed that Dan's crew was in fact at fault, and a third party ended up fixing the situation.
PROBLEM 4 - MISCOMMUNICATION: At several times during the renovation, Dan's poor communication led to problems with the project.
    - Delivery of appliances was delayed and became a major hassle after repeated messages (email, voicemail, text) over the span of a week went unheeded and Dan was unable to assure me that he would be there for their delivery.
    - Dan's inability to communicate what kind of faucet I needed contributed to me buying one that did not fit, and me having to settle on one I was not crazy about.
    - Dan's failure to communicate the specifics of what we wanted for the countertop led to the granite fabricators cutting the counter on our kitchen island incorrectly. This added an additional two months to the completion of the project, especially because Dan took his time scheduling the finish and final inspections once it was re-installed properly.
The finished project was satisfactory, though out of sheer frustration and exhaustion, I let many problems slide in the interest of the project finally being completed (unfilled holes in the wood floor, uneven plastering, holes in the walls).
I strongly urge anyone considering a home improvement project to look elsewhere.

His name was Alex. The grout was so incredibly dirty and it was spotless when he was done. He was amazing. He spent 5 hours here and he worked consistently the entire time. He did an amazing job. American Tile & Remodeling
It went over very well, Zack is a very nice and professional worker. I called him and the next day he was at my house to give me an estimate on my floor. He came on time and took me over to Home Depot to help me pick out the tile and even suggested different tiles that would save me money. Zack showed up with his helper a couple days later and started working. They were extremely clean and professional, put down plastic sheeting and drop cloths on my stairs and set up all their tools outside. I was very pleased with the end product and the timely manner in which it was done. When they left they made sure to clean up everything and he explained to me that and quot;it should look like we were never hereand quot; haha. I would definitely recommend Zack to anyone on here looking to have work done.

It went extremely well, from the initial visit and estimate to completing the work.  They came promptly, listened to what I was after, and proposed two alternatives, sending the estimates to me right away, and as soon as I made my decision, they came again so I could select the tiles.  the whole process was smooth, work was done on time and professionally.   I am very pleased with the results.

    New Beginnings Home Refreshing Company
They are home refreshing specialists. They do painting, tile and floor, rug cleaning, general repairs, powerwashing; etc. I tried using them. I tried contacting them. Whenever I called them, they would never call me back. I found them to be very unresponsive. I could not get a hold of them. I would not use them again and I would not recommend them. The guy did come over and did say that he could do everything. However, he did not give me the price. So, I wanted to meet the broker to find out exactly what work needed to be done to increase the value of the house. When I called this company, he did not call me back.

    Bay State Re-Bath
They were very good, but we did have a few issues.  They came and did the quote and they arranged to come and do the work.  The whole point of going with them and why we chose them was because they could do the refit in one day.  I was expecting a second child at the time and I wanted it all finished within a certain time.  We did change the day and they were really accommodating on that.  We were really pleased with all of that.  We scheduled the day and I went into labor early so it had to be rescheduled.  They were very good about that.  When they actually came to do the refit, they realized that they had the wrong tile or the wrong material so they couldn't complete it and they left.  They did all the plumbing work and the fittings but they couldn't put the liner on the walls.  They sealed it all off and it was fine.  They came back a second time and they were going to fit the bath as well because we wanted to do it all at one time so that they could seal it.  Then they realized the bath wasn't right, so they had to come back a third time.  What should have been a one day fit went on to three days.  They were very professional about it.  They were very apologetic and they gave us a discount offer.  In the end they did a great job so we were really happy with the job they did.  They cleaned up after themselves really well.  Even though it was inconvenient for us to have it sealed with a new baby in the house, we are overall still pleased with them.  There were mistakes that they made.  They could have done it right the first time.  I felt the price was on the expensive side, but we were going with the convenience of having it all fixed in one day.  They did a good job.  They were very responsive.  They called ahead when they were coming.  When we called them, they called right back.  Even though there were some errors on their part, they were very professional and took care of it really well.
