  • Walnut Tree Services (owner Michael Gomes) did an incredibly good job removing two partially uprooted trees on short notice. We found Walnut Tree Services, Stoughton, MA, on Angie’s List and phoned on Good Friday because one of the trees was leaning precariously toward our house. We were told that Michael could give us an estimate on Sunday, even though it was Easter. He arrived promptly on time, looked over our large yard, and (at our request) gave us an estimate that included some additional trimming. Initially we thought only one tree would have to come down, but he alerted us to the fact that another tree that we hadn’t even noticed was also partially uprooted and would certainly fall on our house if it came down. The work was scheduled for Tuesday, but when the weather forecast for the week predicted high winds, he came with his crew on Monday so as not to jeopardize our house. Michael took down both trees within two hours. He also removed a number of branches that might have caused later problems, even though they were not part of the estimate. Before setting to work his crew put sheets of plywood on the lawn and over a flowerbed to reduce unavoidable damage from their equipment. Afterward they completely removed debris and left the yard clean of fallen sticks and branches already on the ground from the winter’s storms. Michael was friendly, courteous, and an absolute professional at all times. His estimate was very reasonable. We would never hesitate to call him in the future. He has our unqualified recommendation

  • Great, they even came a day early. Price was much lower than the other quotes I got. Three companies didn't even return my calls. I would have saved a lot of time and frustration if I had called Harney first. .

  • I used Tree Tech 5 or 6 years ago and they were great. The opposite is true now. After waiting 2 1/2 weeks for a return call, I got the foreman's number from their main office. He did finally return my call and said "I'm pretty sure I called you back". Really? No voice message, nothing in my phone log and how about trying again? He said he would check it out the next day and would leave a proposal in my mailbox. That was on 12/5/17 and I have received nothing. Sadly, this is just another company that got too big to care about their customers.

  • Summary: I would strongly not recommend. We had two projects, grading/seeding a lawn and fixing part of our porch. The first project (the lawn) was done last fall and went well enough. The lawn sprouted up quickly and looked great...until about a month ago when all of my grass started to die. I called in another company to take a look and they said we have a bug infestation and that the grass seed used is prone to drought, disease, and bugs. I am now using another company (and paying hundreds of more dollars) to fix that problem. The second project (the porch) has been a disaster from the outset. I hired Dave again before my lawn started to die and if I had waited to see that, I wouldn't have. First off, I asked for three things to be done: replace some rotted wood boards, add lattice on the bottom of my deck, then sand/stain the deck. Dave said no problem. Someone showed up to stain my deck and when I asked about the rotted wood and lattice, that person had no clue. When I called Dave to follow up, he ALSO had no clue, even though we had a 45-minute, detailed conversation about it. So the person sanded/stained my deck and it looked good. Dave then had another person come out for the woodwork and lattice, but that more than doubled the original estimate he gave me. The carpenter said it would be a three-day job to do the woodwork and add the lattice. Since I had been talking with Dave since May (and it was now July), I said that would be fine, I just wanted my porch done for the summer. Well it's mid-August and it was JUST finished. Five days of work took three months to complete and there's still more (for me) to do. The carpenter would sometime just not show up. Sometimes would come for an hour or two and then leave. Sometime not come for days on end. Never showed up before 10 or 11 am and would always leave by 3 or 4 at the latest. Would say he would be here at a certain time and then sometimes get here hours later or not at all. I never knew when he'd be here, which is great because my back patio has been his work station for the past month, not like I'd want to use that during the summer or anything. And what's even more frustrating is that he ripped off half of what the original person had stained. So now I get to spend multiple days staining wood even though I just paid someone two months ago to do that. Dave's disorganization and lack of planning means I paid him to do useless work and now I am personally spending several days duplicating the exact same job. And of course, for the cherry on top, the carpenter mismeasured some of the lattice and so he needed to order more. And guess who gets to pay hundreds of more dollars for that mistake? Me, of course. My advice: go with someone else. It will save you time, money, and aggravation.

  • The work was done in 5 days. The workers were very professional and very neat. The work went a day over what was scheduled as more material needed to be ordered but that was no issue as the stones were in their work yard.

  • This is my third home so I've dealt with my fair share of contractors that quote high and deliver mediocre quality. Justin is a true PERFECTIONIST who quoted us a fair and reasonable price but delivered some of the highest quality work I've ever seen. He was professional, courteous, easy to work with, responsive, and gave us an outdoor space that looks like a million bucks. He put in a 600+ square foot paver patio with firepit in three days, and it looks incredible. On top of that he brought in crushed stone around the edges and under our sun room at no extra charge. I would absolutely recommend Justin to anyone, and I plan on hiring him for future projects. Top notch work and a quality individual.

  • Regal tree provided an excellent quote on the work I wanted performed. They communicated when they wanted to do the work, even when we were receiving snow storms. When the weather was clear, they arrived and got to work. The crew was very courteous and professional. They worked around yard obstacles and put down plywood as to not leave tire marks in my lawn. When done, they had not just removed the three large limbs, but had cleaned up some other branches that were not attractive. They exceeded my expectations for the job. The lawn was cleaned and left undamaged. I’m very happy with their work and timeliness.

  • They have been fabulous. I did not have to be there. I sent them a check, and they did the work. I met the owner, he sent me an quote, and started to work with them. They were right in line with other companies for their price. They did excellent work, no problem with quality at all.

  • After a number of cancelled dates, they finally showed up on a scheduled date. I expected them first thing in the morning and they showed up early afternoon. Because of this, they had to come back the next day. They arrived early afternoon and were packing up late in the afternoon and I noticed they only did one side of the hedge. After waiting for someone, they started working on completing the hedge. Most of this work was done in the dark. The next day in the daylight, it was obvious that the side of the hedge they did at night, was very uneven and there were areas that did not look trimmed at all. I complained and someone supposedly came over to look at the hedge, but they did not knock on my door or my neighbors door when they came. Someone from the office told me they were happy with the hedge and would not come back.. I expected a discount on the bill, but I did not receive one. Besides the hedge issue they left a number of large oil/hydraulic fluid stains on my driveway and large tire tracks in my lawn.

  • I purchased this service through an Angie's List "Big Deal" (and have done so multiple times in the past). Wainwrights goes out of their way to ensure fast, professional service at a very reasonable price. I have for a number of years used them to tune-up the snowblower (in the Fall) and the lawn mower (in the Spring). I love them!
