Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • These guys were fantastic. The day after I called for an estimate they happened to be working in the area and fit us in that afternoon. They were prompt, professional, and came in lower in their estimate than the other companies we got estimates from. We will definitely use them again,

  • They removed the old driveway and repaved.  The same foot print was used.  The old driveway was at grade level throughout.  The new driveway stands proud of the lawn, as much as 4-5 inches in places.  Found this year that a 12 inch sink hole developed in one place.  In another place there was slight settling and cracks, the pavement here seemed to be around 1 inch thick.  We never had any of these kind of problems with the old driveway.  We replaced the old driveway because there were some shallow bumps developing that precision said was caused by rocks.

  • I called Asphalt Engineering to get as estimate for repairing a sinkhole in my driveway. The person doing the estimation arrived on schedule a couple of days later and went over what was probably causing the issue and what my options were. He was able to give me the pros and cons of the options and I decided to replace the first 6 feet of the driveway. I also wanted to sealcoat my driveway.
I had a few issues with getting the estimate by email. For some reason my email address was not working for them. The office staff worked with me on it and I ended up giving them an alternate email which worked fine. I was happy with the estimate and set up a time to do the work. I was told that it would be done on two separate days, one day to replace the 6 foot section, and another about a month later to do the sealcoat.
The day for repair arrived and the crew arrived on schedule and quickly removed the section to be replaced. They then went to another job and said they would return in the afternoon to do the actual paving part.  I received a call later to say that they had run into problems at the other customer and wouldn't be able to do the paving part that afternoon. Since the forecast called for rain over the next couple of days, they rescheduled the paving for 3 days later. They returned at that time and completed the job. It looks great and I am looking forward to getting the sealcoating done so that the entire driveway has the same appearance.
Even though there were delays, I still give them an A because they were quick to notify me of things beyond their control and were very good about completing the job as fast as the weather allowed.
I would most definitely make them my first call if I need any other work done on my driveway.

  • I was very happy with the service. He dug out the old driveway and put in the new gravel. He was very good. It was timely and I can’t find anything wrong. The price was good and they did a good job at estimating. They sued between 78-82 tons of asphalt. They got the whole job done in about a day and a half. He was busy and it did take a little while to get it scheduled.

  • Although the majority of the paving results are fine, there were many problems. First, they were not "squaring" the edge of the asphalt with the edge of the house - leaving unfinished rough edges that were very messy looking. With much oversight by me, they finally got it right. They told us they would need to trim back our hedges, but ended up hacking them to the ground and leaving behind the debris. They asked if they could dispose of their extra asphalt by repaving the area around the drain at the bottom of our driveway. Instead, they ended up laying 10 feet of asphalt over our expensive river rock at the edge of our property along the road. It took many irate phone calls and 2 weeks before they removed it - still unfinished. One of their workers is an ex-con on parole. Finally, they used our hose to water down the asphalt as it was being rolled, and the hose was left spread out on the lawn and is now permanently covered with asphalt and other materials.

  • Beautiful. They answered the phone on my first attempt, and were attentive and responsive throughout.
    - Karen G.
  • They called and said that they would be out the first part of spring, and now its spring and they still haven’t called or contacted me at all.
    - Cynthia B.
  • Paul G. Smith Inc came in and tore out the whole driveway. I would tell people that this guy has a PHD in asphalt paving and drainage. He is a perfectionist.
    - Frank S.
