    Lamond, Dr. Susan R
I bring my pre teen sons, Dr Ray Lamond speaks directly to them in a quite, reassuring way.  She takes them seriously but doesn't encourage drama.  She refers when appropriate.  She returns phone calls promptly, and floods up if she thinks of more things.  THe boys are very healthy so we don't see her much.

We saw this doctor for years but then my daughters decided they wanted a female pediatrician so we moved to another doctor. My boys still see this doctor. He gets all A's from me and I will use him again in the future.

    Northampton Area Pediatrics
I have been going there for over 18 years. They are incredibly accommodating in terms of timing; they will see patients 7 days a week if need be. They are outstanding at taking the approach that the parent knows their kids and if the parent knows something is wrong then they really should check it out. The doctors and staff are not alarmists and have been great at schedule accommodation. I have triplets and it has been easier to take them all at the same time; they would treat them at the same time with 3 different nurses: that is something that not everybody does. I will use them again in the future.

    Johanson, Dr. Diana
There have been many instances where our daughter has had issues related to sports and Dr. Johanson has listened carefully and several times has made referrals to appropriate specialists. I also have to made a comment about the practice, Northampton Area Pediatrics, which is wonderful. Whoever is on call responds very quickly - they are all knowledgeable and really nice. The receptonist area is cheerful and people seem glad to see patients. Because the practice has had electronic records for years, there are no miscommunications and mistakes with medecines, etc. I am incredibly impressed with Dr. Johanson and the entire practice.

My daughter who is 20 years old now does not want to stop going to this practice because she feels so good about her experience there. (They have allowed her to keep going even though their practice is for children and adolescents.) We have been consistently happy with the care in both routine and serious critical problems that have arisen over the years. When my daughter had a seizure as an infant someone from their practice met us at the local hospital rather then just sending us to the emergency room on our own. It is difficult to determine price since most of the care is covered by insurance for me.

Northampton Area Pediatrics was recommended to us by other Amherst parents. We were fortunate to get Dr. Chabot as my daughters' PCP. She has always been caring, attentive and careful in her approach to my daughters' health needs. They are very comfortable with her, which is really important. If anything, Dr. Chabot in the past has perhaps seemed TOO careful, wanting us to check back in on potential issues we haven't been so concerned about. But we are certainly glad to know she is watching out for us. She does not over prescribe antibiotics or other medications, and very often has non-medical suggestions to help alleviate symptoms. She is also open to having my kids seen by other specialists, even alternative providers (such as homeopaths) at my request. The office staff is very efficient and if we call in with a medical question, we get a call back from the nurse very promptly. The office also has walk-in hours early in the morning which has been great, since it allows us to still get to work/school if it turns out it's OK to do so.

My girls want to see a female pediatrician so we see Dr. Johansen. We have been using her for about 5 years. She gets top marks from me and I will use her again in the future.

He is very knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and explains things until you understand them. He is good with my son. He is experienced in his field.
