    Mr Home
William Sweeney DBA Mr. Home is unscrupulous and not a reputable contractor. He hires unskilled and untrained workers. I have had to replace my tools which were damaged and taken. I have had to hire licensed professionals to repair things that were damaged or done incorrectly His untrained workers allowed cement dust to go all over the house and basement. This created a serious health hazard and required hours of cleaning. It also ruined things in the basement that had to be discarded. I would never hire him again. His guarantee of a dry basement is worth nothing; I do not have a dry basement. He preys on people like me who can't afford to sue him.

    Advanced Basement Waterproofing
Absolutely terrific! I can't say enough about these guys. Not only did they do a great job, the owner went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I hired them do install a French drain and sump pump. I had a lot of water and needed masonry work done on the old foundation walls. The owner reassured me, and informed me of the mortar he was using, and he and his crew did a great job with repairing leaks and applying thoro-seal on the walls. Another big problem I had was with mold and mildew. He cleaned the entire basement and it is now mold free! When the job was finished, the owner came, took a look, and it looks like I have a brand new basement! I am very pleased with the company and its work! They have great values and they treat their customers well. Don't hesitate to contact Advanced Basement Waterproofing for your future waterproofing or mold remediation needs.

    NextGen Construction Service Inc.
Rene Gauthier Jr and his crew were amazing. We had a rather ambitious project of finishing a blank-canvas basement turning it into a bedroom, a full bathroom, two rooms for utilities, a gym and very large entertainment area complete with a wet bar. Rene was right there with us every step of the way and rolled with the punches with every twist and turn our creative process took. He and his staff were very respectful of our time, our house and our privacy. Rene looked for ways to save us money without cutting corners. The end product is GORGEOUS! our goal from the start was to make our basement have the look and feel of the rest of the house and he accomplished precisely that! Thanks Rene for an amazing job!

    Real Dry Waterproofing - Holyoke
My experience with Real Dry was exceptional throughout the whole process. Last year, we were getting water in our basement whenever there was a heavy rain. Steve came and assessed the situation, and recommended digging wells around our basement windows and door and filling them with gravel for better drainage straight down (rather than toward the house/windows). We initially talked about also digging a well in the front of the house, where water would pool due to our lack of gutters and then come in through the foundation. So the initial estimate included all of that. When Steve arrived on the actual day with his crew, I told him that I didn't think we needed to have a well in the front of the house because I was planning on getting gutters and that should take care of that. He adjusted the estimate accordingly with absolutely no hassle. The work itself was done quickly and professionally and the basement has been bone dry ever since, despite some incredibly heavy rain. I HIGHLY recommend this company for basement waterproofing projects.

    Better Built Basements LLC
my initial plan for the basement was a toilet and sink but what I received was a beautiful, to my specifications, powder room that I am very pleased with. considering the amount of work involved in digging up the basement floor and building this from scratch, this went very smoothly with a beautiful bathroom in the end. the upstairs (main floor) bathroom is small but now has the look of a spa so I no longer have to apologize to people that the bathroom is "under construction" when they ask to use it. I received a note about how the main bathroom would progress--tear down, re-place wall, tile, etc. BBB stuck to the plan so I knew who was coming and what was being done. the workmen were all timely, polite, considerate of my cats, courteous to the family members, pleasant to talk to, readily answered questions, and professional. they always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. I could not be happier with my end results as well as the journey to get there. for my first remodeling experience, I am pleased it went so well and would not hesitate to recommend BBB to my friends and would definitely use them again with no hesitation

    Axiom Landscape And Home Improvement
We trust Axiom 100%. Tyler, who is the owner, is very responsible. Her quotes are accurate and when Axiom is doing a job we get frequent updates. On a repair/renovation project, sometimes something will come up that wasn't expected, and she always lets us know about those things and offers options to take care of them. The work is always very good and we have never had a problem with anything Axiom did for us. Highly recommended!

    Amherst Landscape & Design Associates
The excavation and refill went fine, until the weeds came exploding from the fill the landscapers used. When we contacted the company, they came and said nothing they could do...that the supplier was a good one. We were not warned about the weeds that took over our new garden area, nor given any alternatives. So we've spent hours weeding the weedy soil that we paid for.

    Dave Lane Building and Remodeling
We are very satisfied with the work Dave Lane did in finishing our basement, and would recommend him to others without reservation. From our initial meeting and scope/budget discussions, Dave listened to what we wanted, understood our budge limits, and gave practical and realistic options to consider. I never felt like I was being sold anything, and when I wanted to get more details, or scale certain things back or spend more on other items, Dave was patient and thorough in working with me on these things. We settled on a scope and price, and Dave provided a detailed cost estimate, which he held to throughout the job. It's remarkable to have a large, multi-month home improvement project come in almost exactly to budget; what changes that were made were agreed upon in advance. Dave, his crew and his subs were always punctual and courteous. They often worked with my wife and toddler in the house, with minimal disruption to our lives. We also felt completely comfortable giving them access while we were not home. Dave worked to have the project as close to complete as possible for the holidays, which we really appreciated. It was usable and mostly complete, just a few finish items remaining. There was one problem with a door, which was clearly a supplier/manufacturer issue, not due to installation. It was not a huge deal, just cosmetic, and Dave could have left it with us to deal with, feeling mostly satisfied. Instead, Dave wound up re-ordering and reinstalling the door, and making other fixes to make sure it was 100% right. This took him weeks of extra time and effort, and he did not charge us anything extra. Dave was not satisfied until it was perfect. This is the mark of a craftsman, and is exactly what I want in a home contractor. I'm very satisfied with Dave Lane Home Improvement, and thrilled with our new basement.

    J. Newsome & Sons Construction Inc
Working with Newsome was a nightmare. He hired several members of his family who had no construction experience and charged full price, other family members were unsavory at best. He lead us to believe that he was paying their insurance and workmens comp and in fact never provided that to his workers (they later told us). He stole thousands of dollars from us and kept leading us on about with stories that were not true! For instance, we gave him over $4000.00 for replacement windows, and he told us they were ordered and months later when they were still not at the house we called Harvey and they had never heard of him!. He allowed small jobs to be milked for hours and money.. The quality of his teams work was poor and inconsistent at best. To be fair, when he did pay attention to the work being done, some of it was good. But generally, most of the work was a complete waste. Just a note, he looks like a good guy, but we realized later that he is a crook. He is not licensed as far as we know. And he did not take out permits, he told us not to waste the money. Bey were we patsy's. But we are trying to move on and do things the right way next time. Beware of this jerk! He will take you for all he can.

    Real Dry Waterproofing - Holyoke
My experience with Real Dry couldn't have been better. One of the owners came by for an estimate, and was very generous with his time, explaining the options available, and the trade-offs in cost and reliability for each. In the end it helped me make the right decision for my home, and the installation went smoothly, including a minor upgrade to the plumbing. Reasonable price, too ? I'd use Real Dry again without hesitation, and recommend them whole-heartedly.
