  • The work was good, but the price was terrible.  I had to buy the coupon ahead of time.  I bought a coupon and then I think they inflated the price pretty significantly.  They charged what I could say is a pretty high price.  I think I could’ve got the work done cheaper elsewhere without a coupon, but I already bought the coupon, so I kind of had to use it.

  • My dad was visiting and surprised me with his strong and sudden wish to fix several problems in my kitchen, including a broken and unfixable oven. To complete these repairs during my father's visit, we needed to acquire a new oven in a selected model and have it delivered in the next 24 hours. I did not think this would be possible. I called several retail vendors, and none could provide the oven in less than a week. Mario was able to come by with the new oven that afternoon, and his price was in line with those I found elsewhere. He removed the old appliance, installed the new one, and patiently allowed my enthusiastic dad to assist him. Our 1920's house required the oven to be directly wired (rather than plugged) into the wall, and Mario easily handled the ancient wiring. He was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable.

  • He was very gracious and helpful to both my wife and I as we had a lot of questions about these coins. We were both quite impressed with Mr. Leifer knowledge of them. He called a buyer who he could sell the coins to.
He then calculated their worth and came up with a figure that was very fair and then made out a check payable to us right there.
We could not have been more pleased with the whole transaction as to what the coins were worth and what we received for them!

  • ***IMPORTANT*** When you invest thousands of dollars in a piano, I highly recommend any consumer do their homework.  It took me 8 months to find the right company and my research paid off.  The following review reflects my efforts in locating Lindeblad Piano and total satisfaction since then.

It was critically important that I find a business that:
      1. Has been in business for a long time and Better Business Bureau approved. A family-owned business for 80+ years with a BBB rating of A+ told me they had experience and gave me peace of mind.  This increased my comfort level in dealing with a business more than 200 miles from my home.
      2. Stands behind ALL their work - While warranties can vary cases by case (usually 10 years) I received a 20 year warranty on all workmanship and parts, which was better than I expected.  They also met a competitors' 10-year warranty on the soundboard.  FYI Steinway only gives you 5 years on a new piano.
      3. Restores Steinways - I plan on keeping this piano for decades and I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing with such a high-end instrument.  Of the 120+  pianos restored last year, more 75% were Steinways.
      4. Could answer tough questions. During my 8 months of investigating piano retailers and restorers, I spent a half day at a Steinway dealer in Boston to hear their argument of why I should not buy a restored piano.  I did expect a hard sell for a new piano but some of their points and literature were compelling.  Aside from using the Steinway parts, they said that setting the bridge height is the most difficult and requires the elite expertise of a Steinway restoration technician. When I asked if I had a Steinway that I wanted restored, they said only the Steinway factory was qualified to restore a Steinway.  Lindeblad patiently answered ALL my questions. Additionally, the Lindeblad business is in its  4th generation with the original founder a former builder at the NY Steinway factory. He passed down this craftsmanship (including authentic Steinway parts and the proper bridge technique) to his family.
      5. Pleasant to work with and accessible. To be frank, I wanted a company that appreciated my business.  This means that if I had a problem, I could get a hold of someone and have my problem resolved quickly. Ultimately, I found that Lindeblad met and exceeded expectations.  The end-to-end process at Lindeblad is a model that all businesses should aspire to - from the sale, planning, restoration process, to the photos of the finished product and delivery, they wanted to make sure I was completely happy - not just satisfied - with everything.  Each member of the family had their own skills and it was a pleasure to work with each of them.
If you're in th market for a piano - at any price - I know you'd be happy with their work and service.  However, my opinion is less important than your peace of mind. I recommend asking any member of Lindeblad every question that comes to mind until you have no doubt.

  • Called them to repair our microwave, it was only a few years old. Tech came out and did a quick check of it and came up with an estimate to repair that was just over the cost of a replacement. They obviously wanted to see a new one. We did that and on a second visit the old new unit was removed and a new new unit was installed. A newer model with a few minor changes that did not improve microwave. liked the old one better. After we noticed the noise on the new one was louder than the last. Turns out the duckwork connection to the top vent on the unit was loose. It has not been fitted well at all. I pushed it down and resealed the duc tape so it's better.

  • I purchased an Angies's list coupon for $200 worth of furniture refinishing for $100.
I called and spoke to Jeff who was very nice and pleasant to deal with.
I dropped the table off to their workshop and Jeff called me as promised to discuss the details of the necessary work and the cost.
The price was more than I wanted to spend so I decided to do my homework.
I found out that you really need to understand what you are paying for when it comes to furniture restoration.
The services that Jeff and his team provide are a much higher quality than you will find at many other places.
And a surprising fact is that their price was not that much higher than the inferior competition!
Restorers without Borders will strip the table by sanding and replace broken wood with REAL wood.
In comparison, other companies will dip the furniture into chemicals to strip it.
This causes the glue to dissolve which results in the furniture loosening at the joints or falling apart.
Also, some other companies will replace broken wood with COMPOSITE (PLASTIC) instead of REAL wood!
They said you cant tell the difference, but if I am going to make an investment in something that will last a lifetime, I want it to be done well to protect my investment.
With that being said, it was an easy decision to move forward with Restorers without Borders.
With my coupon, the final cost was $590.
Jeff called to let me know when the table was completed.
I can't begin to describe how happy I am with the table!!! It truly looks amazing.
I did not get to see Jeff when I picked it up, but I called his cell to let him know that he exceeded my expectations.
The table was my husband's grandmother's and I hope to some day pass it down to my children.

  • We bought three tables from La-Z-Boy.  Both side tables had drawers that did not fit correctly.  It was almost impossible to open and close the drawers. One of them had a piece of wood broken off.  The cocktail table had a spring that made a noise when the table was raised and lowered.  When we contacted customer service, they would not guarantee that they could come when we were available.  Very, very disappointed!  I thought we were dealing with a reputable company.
As bad as our overall experience was with La-Z-Boy was, I have to say that the technician that came to look at our problems was wonderful.  He was the only person that gave us straight answers.  He fixed what he could and ordered what he could not.

  • They came out and said that the chair couldn't be fixed. Another vendor came out and fixed it in less than 20 minutes. Approximate Cost: $200.00
